the covers i have are 3 PVC ones, 1 wool/cloth one and 1 wool/fleece one

Congratulations on using cloth nappies. I am also a cloth nappier although it sometimes drives me crazy (especially if it has been raining and I can't get any dry).
Do you use them at night or is her just wetting through during the day? I as going to say that sometimes if the wool ones have been used alot in the past they can lose their ability to hold water but you said that one is new so that shouldn't be happening. I also know that with the wool nappies you sometimes have to re-lanolize them to keep them waterproof. There is a lady who sells the wool ones on the net and she sells lanolin to go with them. I can't recall her website but I am sure if you do a search for wool nappies you may find her.
Good Luck
I don't use fitteds...good ol' flats for us...but how many times have you washed the nappies? I know that they all need to be washed so they work properly...even my flats needed a few washed before they were any good. Also, what kind of fitted do you have? The pocket ones need 'stuff' in them to hold the wee-wee...hmm...I don't know...where are all the cloth obsessed ladies who are usually around at this time of night?

What nappies are they? What cover do you use at night? If it is wool has it been lanolised?

i have 2 cute tooshie fitted ones they have a snap in booster and then i have a few i made that are just flannette the covers are pvc (3 of them) and 1 is white and cloth i presume its a wool blend of some sort and i recently brought a wool fleece cover from ozebaby it looks and feels like polar fleece and the seller didnt say anything about lanolising it  the info i had said to just wash it a few times for max absorbtion.
its really wierd since he has had all the problems with milk and soy he has become a really hevy wetter.and he wants a drink all the time:confused: ive tried to cut down fluids at night in hopes that would do something but itdoesnt.

Maybe try a wool cover, a knitted one. That is what UI used on Bridie at night and she was always dry. Fleece does not need lanolising. Maybe get some microfibre for night time as well. Have you thought about using PUL covers?
How big is your boy?

he is a big boy but only weighes just under 9 and half kg he would fit nicely ina medium sized cover i ordered a few pul ones from tinkletots  DP just wants DS to stop "wetting the bed " coz DS likes sleeping in the middle of us

I don't know anything about cute tooshie brand nappies so can't comment on them. Flannelette is not very absorbant so could he just be outwetting the nappy? I prefer nappies such as Tots Bots, Erica's, Sandra's Stuffables, Green Kids, BabyBeehinds etc. They are all well respected and absorbant.

PVC are not good as covers because they do not allow any 'breathing' so it creates a sauna effect in the nappy area. I don't quite understand the 'white and cloth' cover because it's not recommended to have any absorbant fabric (other than wool) in the cover because moisture would wick out. The third cover you mention is a wool fleece but it feels like polar fleece?? It might be best to email the seller and ask for clarification. If it is wool, then it will need lanolising to make it effective as a cover. Both wool and fleece can have compression leaks if the nappy isn't absorbant enough so you could try adding more boosting to your nappies or only use this cover when bub won't be in one position for long periods (like sitting in a carseat etc). I've found fleece to not work well for us because I dress DS in bodysuits that snap at the crotch. Obviously this puts too much pressure on the cover so we get compression leaks.

I personally wouldn't cut down on fluids in general but would try and find a better nappy solution instead. Hope it works out for you :)

we have cut down on fluids at night and still he pees more then a horse  we are looking at getting some AIO's for night use and soem wool soakers for use with daytime clothies :) i think im going to have a look at the baby beehinds site :)thanks
May I ask why you are looking into AIOs for night time use?
It's just that in general they are not considered good for heavy wetters because you can not adjust the absorbancy in them. Something like a generous sized pocket nappy or fitted would allow you to add as much boosting as your child needs.

i just thought a AIO would be more suited. but i'm not sure lol. he seems to wet through everything  when you say generous do mean a bit bigger or just one that has more room to stuff in boosters etc? coz if i go bigger it wont fit him very well he is tall for his age with a big bum but has a thin-medium build. hope that makes sense:o

I personally prefer the Eenee nappies for night! ;)

I can relate to having a super wetter  When DS was still breastfeeding overnight he would do HUGE wees that would even defy a correct sized Huggies!
By generous, I mean a pocket that has more room to stuff in because going up a size will compromise fit around the legs which may cause leaks. Certain brands are known to be roomier than others eg. A Sandra's Stuffable will fit more than a SwaddleBees which is very trim.

Hey Oscar's mum - just wanted to ask, what do you stuff your eenees with?
Sorry for hijacking the thread, BTW

where do i get a eenee's nappy from? can i buy them online or are they in certain shops?
i have seen a sandra stuffable on ozebaby :D so i will order some of them give thema go:thumbsup: just want to try and test them see what goes well with my little pee machine
Cute Tooshies are lovely nappies, but not specifically for nights, if you'd like to use them for nights, you'll need some additional boosting either hemp boosters/trifolds or the like. And I'd second the not PVC cover, either Fleece or Wool, depending on how much care you'd like to take using them.
And regards to AIO's - they can be used successfully overnight, again you may need additional boosting, but go with AIO's with good quality fleece, not PUL covers, you'll have more success.
There are alot of very good night nappies around, but they are a bit hard to get hold of atm!
Cheers
The printed CuddleBuns would definately need extra boosting for nights as they aren't designed to be used for overnight as they are. A hemp one would be more suited for nights :)
Also too, with PUL pocket nappies, cotton printed PUL isn't ideal for nights either. Plain polyester PUL would be a better choice :)
