My bro is 11 and has a GF atm too. He asked if Mum could drop him and his best friend off to the movies so he could go with his GF, Mum laughed in his face and said No way. I wasn't allowed to go to the movies without Mum till I was 12, wouldn't have been able to go with a boy till at least 13.

I just think you know your son and you would know if he is going to get up to mischeif...

I think if you drop them off like half hour before the movie starts and pick them up just after it finishes not alot could happen..

He will prob start sneaking out in the next few years if he feels he cant just be open with you about it as he seems to be now..

well the thing is i let him with his friend (boy)...
so why not with the girl....i am not concerned about anything happening, just of letting go...i am way to clucky....

yeah thats what i think too. i mean i was allowed a lot, but my parents could really trust me, because i knew i am allowed if i ask and tell them the truth, i always did. they always knew where i had been and what i had done...

just

i was LOTS OLDER....with 11 i still played barbie....

maybe i should just go with them.....sit a few rows behind them....?????

Aww... I can't really relate cos my babies are never going to grow up and date! LOL!

Seriously, I dont know how I would handle this situation. I know nothing will happen or anything, but just our babies having 'girlfriends' and 'dating'.. Oh I cant even think about it! :)

From the outside looking in I can say quite easily that's so cute! However, if I were in your shoes, I'd still think it's cute but I would be giving him a big fat no.

Maybe next year son.

Aww :hugs:

Unfortunately it is the curse of mass schooling. One kid hears about what another is doing, it travels around the school and all the younger kids want to do older stuff quicker.

You may just have to let him go, otherwise he might start sneaking out to do it.

Maybe you could call her mother and discuss it all with her? If that would be okay that is.

 Wow is all I can say!

I have an 11 year old son too but he is far too busy with cricket bats, tennis raquets etc, he has shown absolutely zero interest in girls (errr as far as I know!!)

Have fun OP :D

well, i am quite deaf in that "going out" ear LOL
it's just really shocking, he is the first of all the boys (our friends have same aged boys, or older) who actually had a girl interested in him.
he loves his sport though, so he is not the kid that has nothing else to do....
but he is quite a charmer and always liked girls even in preschool he kissed them.... :D

thanks so much for all your replies.

i am probably waiting as long as i can and if i have to, than talk to the girls mum and maybe sit in the cinema myself (i am a horrible mum, am i??)
