Hi everyone,

I was looking for a thread but couldn't find one so I thought I'd start a new one.

My question is around those who already have a child/children and are doing IVF.

What is the best way to cope with the EPU and ET re having to pick up your child. My DS is 3 and still demands that I pick him up. I'm concerned about picking him up after ET and that it will cause more tension...How do I get around that, and will it matter if I picked him up...Potentially I could be pregnant so I'm not sure what to do...

Thanks in advance and I look forward to chatting with you all soon.

hi Shajake, i actually asked about all that today when i went in for my appointment at the IVF clinic. The nurses said all that should be ok just dont over do it. but I personally would be take it easier if you can.
:fingerscrossed: best of luck

Hi mybabyemmy...The nurse told me for EPU that DS should stay overnight at a relative if possible, so I guess we never discussed anything further with them...I do see my Dr on Monday so I'll be asking him the question.

My DS is quite attached to me...My DH (as great as he is) can't get him to sleep if I'm at home and also during the night if he wakes, so I'm concerned for him and my MIL (she said she'll have him for a day or two if I need). I'm just trying to work out a backup plan if I need one.

How did your appointment go?

Hi guys

I didn't have to worry about EPU this time - we had a FET which was successful. I wondered the same thing myself though... I was VERY sore after the EPU that resulted in DD... I would probably have got my Mum to stay for a couple of days to help... After the FET this time around, I actually forgot about it - I didn't think it was going to work, so I put it out of my head! I didnt take it easy or relax at all - my DD is 13 months old, so there was lots of picking up, even though she is walking. Something obviously worked Ok though!

Good luck mybabyemmy and Shajake - I hope the IVF path is paved with success for you both!

Cheers!
