I was wondering how long your longest cycle was?
After AF finally arrived did everything go back to normal?
Did you receive an explanation as to why you had such a long cycle, and if so what was the explanation?

Thanks in advance, i'm going to head off to the doc on the weekend, but thought it would be useful to be a little clued up so i dont just get palmed off and told to just be patient, id like to understand why it is happening

Hun there could be many reasons that you are having problems with your cycle lenght.

Mine was to do with PCOS. I would normally have 28 day cycles then after i got married it all changed. I was having longer cycles. I also have a GP that wouldn't listen. After i went back to the GP the 4 or 5 time in about 7 months and he wouldn't do anything, i went off! I soon got a referal to a fs and lots of test done.

They then finally found out what was wrong.

Anyway get to your GP and talk to them. Good luck.

i know there could be a whole heap of different reasons, i guess knowing what some of them are i'll feel better being able to say to to doctor, could it be this, why do u think it isnt etc... i didnt have AF for 5 months when i was 18, and noone even ever gave me a reason, it wasnt such a big deal at the time tho as i wasnt ttc... but now i want answers!

IKWYM My problem was that i felt that i had no support from my gp either so i would not have said do you think it could be this or that.

Anyway i guess i just wanted to say good luck, hope it's an easy fix.

I know that one of the girls in the clomid thread was have really super long cycles and they put her on clomid and still had long cycles but she is now preggers and due in nov/dec.

Good luck hun I really hope you get some answers soon.

I have PCOS and my longest cycle has been 4 months- so approx 130 days! I had 4 month cycles for about 2 years actually. They have been all over the place since.

wow sounds like most ppl have long cycles because of PCOS... i'm a little worried about that as my sister has it, and have been getting excess hair growth for the past couple of yrs (but as i was on the pill it was just blamed on that), but i dont have weight issues like all the other ppl ive known with PCOS.

Ness i hear ya :hugs: cd51 for me... FF has just changed my O date back to cd21, seems to be changing it everyday... was just looking at the chart gallery and saw lots of charts where ppl didnt O till after day 50 and they still got BFP! :fingerscrossed: we're not out of the running yet

Oh Trix that's good to hear that we can still be in the running!! DH and i are BDing every second day "just in case". It's that or we are trying to bring on AF

I hope you don't have PCOS hun :fingerscrossed: Do you have a lot of faith in FF? I haven't used it myself (so i am not judging) but if you really did O at CD21 wouldn't you have had AF or BFP by now? Is it more likely we have not O'd yet. I am starting to think yes. :detective:

i stoped temping becos of my long cycles becos ff kept changing my o date and was doing my head in, i also did 2 cycles of clomid and it still made me have long cycles i did fall pregnant in jan this year on cd 86 witch was a clomid cycle i did clomid cd 2-6 and didnt get my period and i didnt even know i was preg till my gp tested me but the pregnancy ended in a m/c so there is hope with longs cycles its just a pain in teh butt

i hope i dont have PCOS as well!!! And no, i dont have a whole heap of faith in FF's dates as my chart looks a mess and nothing really seems noticeable to the naked eye... hoping my post in the sept thread it true :fingerscrossed:

Trix, my longest cycle to date is 65 days (or there abouts- i think i finally lost count) Since then my last cycle was 40 and now just started my third cycle. I have had regular cycles my whole life till i had the m/c in may!!

Just been to the doctor about it- he is a obstetrician (no fs close by so first port of call). He was awesome but after an u/s he has told me it looks like i have slight PCOS (blood tests being done as we speak to confirm) but as you said i am not overweight (168cm and 65kg) plus no other classic symptoms- in fact he said that an external scan cant usually see the cysts but i had at least ten 5mm cysts on each ovary.

Perhaps a look into seeing a good doctor who has the time. I have been to 4 doctors over this course to try and get some answers and he was the first one who actually listened and gave us the time of day and was willing to try and figure out why this is happening. He has done my scan, ordered a SA for DP and put me on tracking.

:fingerscrossed: there is some other reason why you are having such a long cycle but just thought i wuld share my experience this year!!

Good luck :hugs:
