i also put this in the 'general chat' thread, but maybe here will be good too...
at the moment i'm on family tax part a and b, plus rent assist.
but i recently broke up with DD's dad, but he still lives with us, so i wasn't sure whether it was worth it to tell c/l about it.
would they give me more money?
he pays half rent and half food, and usually pays for half of what i buy for DD if it's expensive.
does any body else get any extra payments for being single??
thanks!

You can get single parenting payment, but unfortunately because he still lives with you - the chances of them allowing you to receive it are very slim.
Because he is in fact that father of your child - they will not believe that you are not together.

I think most people will tell you it's not worth attempting to apply for PPS whilst living with your ex as it will probably only cause unneccessary problems in the future. (apparently they flag people as potential cheats and basically harass them for the rest of time they are on benefits).
I am in basically the same situation... just waiting for the lease to come to end. I haven't bothered with centrelink.I only get $90/fn in ftb so it really screws me over as the ex doesn't really contribute. It would be good if i could get what i am actually entitled too but it probably is not worth the trouble.

This has happened to my cousin and all centrelink needed was for respectable (ie no criminal record or centrelink freud history) to say that yes they were no longer together
