Varicose Veins

I've got some horrid veins come up in my right groin and knee, with varying degrees inbetween the 2.

Does anyone know how to get some relief??? They've really been stinging the past couple of days, and with 9 weeks to go they're probably going to get worse. The one in my knee is a giant spider vein with veins visible underneath and is SO HOT!

My close friend had TERRIBLE varicose veins when pregnant and actually ended up having them operated on a few months after she gave birth. She found that elevating her legs at least 45 degrees was really helpful. I know it's really obvious, but she did it quite frequently and found it to be great. She also used ice packs and that was great. She also found that keeping off her feet as much as possible (had to be almost always near the end of her pregnancy) helped when she did have to stand / walk. Nothing dramatically groundbreaking but both were helpful.
