Ok well keep it short,
Had my daughter feb 05. Periods were irregular, think i got it once she turned 7mths. Cant remember seeing it again as i didnt use contraception after her at all.
Fell pregnant with my son when she was 18mths old. Had him may 07.

Went onto the pill at 6w checkup and came off them november 07 originally to change to something else coz i kept forgetting them. So here iam now trying for a bub and cant get periods.
I took vitex, which gave me my period but wouldnt stop for 4wks. So he gave me progesterone pill which stopped it in 3 days.

So that stopped and havent had it since.

Went to drs to see whats going on. He suggested maybe its just me, then said it takes about a yr to conceive anyway, go see a gyno or wait so i decided to wait seeing as it took 18mths to conceive the son which will be up in Nov 08.

He also suggested PCOS which i have some of the symptoms BUT he didnt send me for an u/s. should he have??

I'm lost. I just want answers without forking out mega $$$.

sounds like pcos to me i have a slight case of it and dont get af at all because i dont ovulate i have to take provera which makes af come lasts for about 2 weeks though and i am on clomid as well to make me ovulate. i would buy some opk's ovulation predictor kits/tests and test twice a day from cd11-21 dont use fmu as it isnt recommended try not to drink much as it will dilute your wee. once the test line is darker than the control line or the same colour you are about to ovulate.
if you aren't ovulating go see a gyno because you may need your tubes cleared or need some meds to boost your ovaries.

sounds strange they didn't send you for an U/S - sounds like it could be PCOS to me. it would only take about 1 minute to do the U/S to determine whether that's what you have or not!!!!

Well since my last post ive been back and forward drs.
Got that u/s that i should have got from another dr and more bloods.
Found polycystic change. An excess of more than 20 follicles in the ovaries which should only be about 10.

Told me to try and lose some kilos.

Got AF by itself on the 17th September and 2 weeks later was still going and started to bring BIG clots. something i knew was too big to be normal so back to drs and get some primulat tablets to stop it.
Its currently in its stages of going. woohoo!

More bloods showed low iron which i was suspecting.

Has referred me to a gyno after i suggested to go onto the tablet Metformin which can assist in losing weight, the acne, hormone level of testosterone.
I should have mentioned clomid but for now ive got to get the referral for a ulk billing dr at Monash Hosp coz i really cant afford alot as i said.

Sounds frustrating. The gynae is the most qualified person to make any furthur decisions I think. I hope it doesn't take you too long to get an appointment.
