Opening of the Liberty Playground

I was told the Liberty Park at Saltwater Creek reserve is opening this saturday.

Basically, if you haven't read about it, it's been years in the making and mostly started by fundraising from residents.
The playground is an all access area for all kids - no matter what. They even have a swing which is wheelchair accessible - There are other things, but that's the only big one I know.

If anyone is interested :

Activities from 10 am to 2 pm 23rd of August
official ceremony 11 am

Of course, it will always be there and is a nice new playground to visit :D

i saw that in the paper the other day and drove past it a few weeks ago and it was looking pretty good then and it wasn't even finished.
Looks great for toddlers cause its fenced in so no need to worry about them running off.

well yeah, the the fence is encouraging me to go down :laughing:
Its nicer on that side as well, and the council are putting in decorative things along with all the plants they put in.

Just also, thats the area with the pathway along and around Tuggerah Lake, great little bike ride area (and heaps of playgrounds all along the path) :thumbsup:

is that the place where the skate park is behind it , on the way to the entrance?

Err Ive got no idea lol only skate park I know is at Waterfront.

The park is on the way into The Entrance from the South, corner streets would be Central Coast Hwy and Tuggerah Pde.

you can either walk/ride on the shared path from chittaway on towards the entrance, it's long jetty, where the park is, you can see it FROM the street it's opposite the playground with the rocket (the older style one :) )

Yep thats the one i was thinking of! We went there the other weekend and i was wondering when it was opening!

i gotta confess we didn't make it. the weather didn't tempt me to go anywhere, so i stayed home, we'll check it out soon though...
