i'd like to start up a homebirthing support type group, sort of like the ABA but for home birthing.
just where we meet for coffee mornings and chat, and also as a support for people thinking about home births etc.
but don't know how much interest i'd get...i'd like it to go nationally, but obviously i'd have to start with just myself, so in SA.
would any body be interested in helping run it, or fundraising, or be interested in coming along etc?
Thanks =]

Hi E.

I am a new arrival to SA from the UK where I was a Birth and postnatal Doula, so no stranger to homebirth.

I think your idea sounds fantastic. As a Doula I am a huge advocate of support, it really is the key to a happy peaceful birth. As a Mum I think its a great idea...I am hoping to have baby number 4 as a homebirth (bit ahead of myself as not yet pregnant:laughing:) so a support group would be fantastic for someone like me who doesnt know the system in Oz yet.

I would be happy to help in anyway possible. If you can give me a few weeks to settle in first (only moved 8 days ago).
