anyone who has this horrible cough going around

so im wanting to know.... anyone who has this horrible cough going around ( doc said i have a chest infection.. and put me on antibiotis) Im feeling better but all i do it cough cough cough... more so like a bark then anything. Im finding all down my right side and back are REALLY sore.....

I'm assuming it's from all the coughing but wanted to know would this be affecting bubs at all?

and any suggestions for relief??

I know whinge.. *****.. moan... but im tired of having to hold my side everytime i cough!!

and also i feel sorry for poor bub's having to listen to me bark bark all day... *smiles*

I've been barking like a seal for two weeks. Last week was so bad I went to see the middies - it's just viral. I feel sorry for my poor bub being squeezed and thwacked by my coughing all day. I think it's worse cos my abdo muscles are so streched anyway. I coughed so hard the other day I saw fireworks. But it is easing up now. The assure me it's not doing her any harm, and she's kicking away in there and growing and doesn't seem affected.

I'm finding that a teaspoon of manuka honey and the juice of 1/2 lemon in hot water seems to help a bit. Get well soon!

yes, my dd has got it that bad that she chucked up last nite, i find she gets worse when shes in bed, they have given her meds plus this stuff that will clear her chest but yeah, she says ouch everytime she coughs

Oh no.. poor thing.. im finding it ard to cope as it is... so it must be hard having a little one sick.......

fingerscrossed my 2 dont get it.. that's all we need!

With the pain in your side and your back, you may have cracked one of your ribs with all that coughing. :dizzy:

oh no... i didnt think of that.... i think if i had it would be a constent pain thou right???

When i was pregnant with my 2nd my DD1 who was 2 at the time dived on me lying on the couch from behind... like a dive into my tummy.... i had a awful pain so we to the ED to find out she had really badly bruised my ribs...... thats was bad!! they mose well (SP?) have been broken!!!!

Yes,it is going around and its down right awful..
I NEVER get sick,but this has knocked the socks out of the kids and me.

Ds1 has also been vomiting from it.Thats been all the flem though.Its gross.
It seems with us its started as a cough,and my back was really sore for 2 days and like you i was very worried about bubs.
Hot and cold flushes,then it turned into a cold and now we all have the cough back,but this time very chesty!(first time it sounded very asthmatic)..

I was at the Drs yesterday and he didnt give us anything.We are just waiting it out.I have been panodolong and Dimetaping the kids though..

The lemon and honey has also helped me.
Plus ive found that choc mint bikkys make a great comfort food when your taste has gone!:laughing:..
