View Full Version : Gift for a six year old girl
My niece is turning six next month and I'm stuck. I need to get her something that can be posted internationally (she lives in the UK). She's got more toys than my sister has space for. She's a very bright kid. She loves gymnastics, fairies and ballet. I usually buy her a book, but what book?? I'm great with books for little kids, and for grown ups, but six year olds confound me.
Does anyone have any inspired suggestions for me? Any specific book titles? Or any other ideas?
Can't help with book titles, but for another idea, what about some cute and funky hair bits and pieces...especially anything that can wrap around that ballet bun (or is that too boring?)
What about decorating one of those cute little Jewelery boxes. They sell them at craft stores don't they? (Last I checked), and you can decorate it with cute little beads, sparkles, write her name with craft paint.
Inside you could put some hair clips, maybe a nice necklace and pack in some Bubble wrap for safe keeping.
Hmm, have you thought about the barbie dvd sets you can buy now? Barbie of swan lake, barbie and the nutcracker, barbie and the island princess, barbie as princess and the pauper, barbie as Mariposa, barbie as rapunzel.....can you tell iv got every one of them:pYou can get the beautiful barbies to go with the Dvd, ones with big wings in princess dresses ect. Theyr alllll over the shops at the mo.
Or if she's just getting into reading 'the little princess' books are fabulous. Titles like "I dont want to wash my hands, I want my light on, I dont want to brush my hair'......theyr such fun books to read and easy enough that she can read herself.
My daughter is 6yo and she was given a fairies book with a CD that you read along with the CD. She LOVES this book and puts the CD on every night in bed. It is one of the "shirly barber" books I think.
