I didnt have a d/c as they said i had passed most of the tissue ? Is that normal ?? It was a week on sat since i mc.

Hi Kayte,

How far along were you when you lost your little one ?

If you are less than a certain amount of time (8 weeks I think), or miscarry prior to seeing the OB/Dr then you are often left without a D&C as it is believed that your body can effectively repair itself.

You can get an ultrasound to check that all is fine if you need to.

Sorry to hear of your Miscarriage. With me I lost my beautiful twin girls at 20 weeks and after delivery they had told me that I had passed all the tissue and that I did not need a D&C. But I did end up having one done 2 months later cause there must have been the smallest bit of placenta left in there cause I constatly Heamorraged for the entire 2 months - it was a really really terifying experience and they could not pick up anything on the scan only an enlarged vein which we are assuming was where all the bleeding was coming from.

Anyway what I am trying to say is taht just see how you go and if you are having troubles with any bleeding go and get a scan to check

i was about 6w3d so not that far ? Im not bleeding like red blood its kind of brown mucus?

You poor thing Kayte :( I was almost 7 weeks when I had mine and I didn't have a D&C either and I'm fine. I only bled for a week and then I felt normal again. I hope it doesn't take too long for you.

Remember to see a doc if the blood goes bright red again or if you have pain :hugs:

You can have sex as soon as you're comfortable with it. But it's suggested you don't try to conceive until after you've had one regular cycle, mainly to make dating easier.

Hi Kayte, It is normal to not have a D&C when you've miscarried early in the pregnancy, I miscarried the same weekend you did, i'm still bleeding also, its more brown mucasy(sp) stuff now which comes and goes. This is probably TMI but we've already done the rumpy pumpy, as Martha said you can have sex when ever you fell comfortable, we have decided to start trying straight away, and if need be use a scan for dating.

Hi Kayte, yeah we're TTC now, I miscarried on friday 21st so its been 1 week and 4 days now since then, i've still got the brown stuff today, can't wait till it goes so I can stop wearing panyliners lol, feel free to pm me if you wanna chat or anything

I originally started bleeding on Thursday 20th April :( but yeh no bleeding now just sometimes a tinge of brown stuff (SORRY FOR TMI) but hardly eva i dont have to wear panty liners.. so i would say its okay for me now to start having sex again as we want would like to ttc. The dctor said i should wait for my first period after the mc and like while waiting be using protection because of risk of disease or something ?? but so many people i have spoken to have said to just start ttc again ??

they usually say not to start trying again for dating reasons unless your bleeding alot or have had a d&c then you can get infections if not carefull, just start trying again when you feel ready to.
