Hi there,
Someone told me about a product called 'Maybe Baby' which you use you saliva to determine the best time to conceive.
Can anyone let me know if they have used this and if it was successful.
Thanks muchly.:)

I've used it when we were trying for our children. If you're ovulating, it shows a 'fern leaf' in the microscope. It took us 6 months of trying to become pregnant with Jesse (the obstetrician said that is a normal time frame) and we became pregnant straight away with Lucas. When I saw a 'fern leaf' that's when we'd 'get busy'...which could explain why I have 2 boys.
It did work for me.
I also used one with my first baby a year or so ago, and most recently got pg again after only 1mth of trying. The ferns start to show when your oestrogen levels increase when you are coming into 'ovulation' you get partial ferning for a few days and then 'full' ferning on the day of ovulation so you can kind of get an idea of when you should start 'getting busy'!!! i must admit with mine i didnt get the ferning straight away i used to have to leave the thing you spit on for an hour or so till it showed anything. They are pretty expensive tho, Id suggest having a look on ebay for a 2nd hand one, think they are $80

I used Maybe Baby, and was very successful. It showed ferning for me on CD10 even though temp charing didnt register ovulation until day 15. My ultrasound due daye corresponds with the ovulation date given by maybe baby - so I am pretty glad thet I used it.
For me I fund it better if I used it late morning rsther thsn first thing in the morning. Just make sure that yu havent had anything to eat or drink for at east an hour before testing. It is expensive at about $80 but you can use it again and again, and if I ever need to use it again - I still have it. It works out cheaper than using OPK's and I found it realy fun to use - so exciting when you see your first fern!
Just wanted to let everyone know - did a little google search for maybe babys - found on on an online Australian based pharmacy and it was $64. New. Im thinking id really like to buy one - takes some of the guess work out and seems really simple to use.

I am looking at buying one of these as we will be ttc towards the end of the year.
How many cycles should you monitor before ttc??

mony Felix - we are trying end of year aswell! We may be ttc at the same time!
I am going to start using mine next cycle or one after that....
good luck bella rose..hope it works for you
to the others there is no harm in monitoring your cycles any time just to get an idea of when you ovulate...what to look for...etc etc so that when you are serious about trying you can get stuck in straight away!!!

HI,
My son is living proof that the maybe baby is majic !
I suffered from endometriosis from the time I was 14 countless visits to gyno's all over the place resulted in the same conclusion ......I was infertile , I was resigning myself to the fact I would never be a mum.
Then I was told about the maybe baby so I set out and got one it cost me $60 I had to have a go, worth a try I thought. It took a couple of times to get the hang of when ovulation was spot on , but what would you know in January last year that little maybe baby was absolutly spot on now we have our little man that ALL those specialists said we would never have.
I would recommend the maybe baby to anyone
Good luck :hugs:
I am in a stage where my body is trying to ovulate but the hormone level is not quite hight enough for an egg to release (I went off the pill only 2 months ago).....
Will Maybe Baby pick up these 'attempts' by my body to ovulate, making me think I am..? Perhaps I will just get partial ferning and no full ferning until ovulation does happen???
I think I might give Maybe Baby a go... my natropath gave me a box of 6 OPKs to try but at this stage there is no point in using them....
Can someone please advise??
Thanks.

Nicole, maybe you try taking some chaste berry or something?

I used maybe baby for a couple of months and always got the different levels of 'ferning' during my cycle. I assumed I was ovulating.
I went to a gyno/ob and after blood tests etc found out I wasn't releasing an egg either. the maybe baby works on checking your estrogen levels and my problem was my progesterone levels due to PCOS. So yes it will tell you when your body is working up to ovulate but doesn't guarantee in any way that you actually released an egg.
I still found it useful but by the time I was on clomid, and metformin for the PCOS I was really conscious of my dates and other signs anyway due to the different drugs you take at different times that the maybe baby was just a final confirmation for us that it was the 'right' time.
Good luck.

do people who use it recommend it for me... I am very irregular and so i dont know when i am gonna get AF. If i use the home ovulation tests , i'll have to test everyday!! cause we have no idea AF is coming till it 's here. So this sounds good to me. Is it worth while if your irregullar??
Thanks guys, and Olivia&BellasMummy I am already taking Chasteberry but thanks anyway!
janellejori I think Maybe Baby is perfect for someone like you who is ovulating but is irregular. This way you dont have to spend $100's on OPKs as the Maybe Baby you can use to test your saliva every day and know before hand when you are about to ovulate! Good Luck :fingerscrossed:

thnaks nicole, i;m ordering one right now, hopefully this will help!!
I think Maybe Baby can only help - unless you know you have a condition beforehand that may affect your results. At least thats how i feel for me.:D
Also - i guess you may find out something after using it (like Fee) that can only help in the long run hopefully, the whole ttc process.

I bought a saliva microscope before I heard about maybe baby.
It's called Ovulite and is a little cheaper than maybe baby.
Only took less than a week to arrive.
