I'd say King Edward..only cause if there are any problems with bub ( not saying there will be ) but they will transfer you there anyway if you are at another hospital.

It depends on your individual situation and where you live. KEMH is good if you're high risk, but they can get quite busy and therefore you don't always get as much time & attention as at a smaller hospital - they don't have as much time to chat and such. KEMH is also best equipped to handle preterm infants although most hospitals that have maternity services are equipped to deal with babies from 32 weeks gestation (Level 2 Special Care Nursery).
Armadale is meant to be excellent, and even though joondalup hasn't got that good of a reputation a friend of mine swears that they received the best care there, rather than at KEMH.

My advice would be to look at your local hospital first, and see what they have to offer. KEMH will look after you & your baby but unless you're high risk your local hospital will probably make you feel more comfortable during the whole process (and if they don't you can always change).

I know my SIL went to King Edward for all 4 of her kiddies and had a great experience each and every time. I've also had a friend who has been to Osborne Park and hated it. It was packed to the rafters and she was in a room with another 5 mums and bubs. She discharged herself after 2 nights as she couldn't get any rest. I must admit having visited each at the respective hospitals if I had to choose outta those 2 I would go for KEMH. I've not seen Joondalup or Armadale so couldn't tell you what they are like.

I am going to Armadale, the wing has been redone recently and it is really nice. The biggest shared rooms only have 2 beds in each and they try not to make you share. If you have a c/sect they will give you a private room too.

Although, I have to say, that I was not overly impressed with the GP/OB i saw there, was just very abrupt and 'uncaring'. But i guess it doesnt really matter cos the midwives do all the work anyways if all goes according to plan :fingerscrossed:

where do you live?

I went to armadale and thought it was really nice. The midwives were GREAT.. had some issues with the doctors but it was over Christmas so had to expect some frustration I guess.

I had my little boy at KEMH last July and they were just fantastic, having my next bub there in early Jan. Wonderful midwives and great resources, especially the breastfeeding centre which is free if you are a KEMH patient for i think 3 or 6 months after you have bubs, i used it heaps. :yelclap:
