Hey
DD is now pulling herself up to standing. The thing is she is always falling over and hitting her head on the floor (then crys). Can this hurt her to hit her head all the time? (brain and skull wise). Is there anything I can do to stop her hitting her head? Any advise or comments would be wonderful....

my DS hits his head all the time sometimes he cries, other times he laughes  its all part of learning to do stuff by yourself like walking. :o
he has had a few bumps and bruises on his head as well as few grazes but nothing requiring medical attention yet :fingerscrossed: i would say just be there with cuddles and keep bandaids on standby incase there is blood

It should be fine. DS used to fall off the bed heaps before he started slleeping in his cot. the doctor said that he wouldnt get brain damage or anything.

i always tell my DP if anyone asks us when DS is older if we dropped DS on his head our reply will be "no he did that to himself"

Our babies are always in sync!!
Claire is starting to get around all over the place - she's not quite pulling up to standing yet, but will stand on her own holding onto things like people, chairs, the couch, coffee table etc. She has taken quite a few tumbles over the past couple of months (including one particularly nasty one off the couch when I was standing right there! I could never be wicket-keeper for Australia obviously!)
She always does that thing where she's lying there surprised but quiet for a second (and you think she's not going to start crying!) and then she just starts HOWLING!
I was wondering the same thing & my CHN said not to worry about it too much unless they are having trouble focusing their eyes or if they start vomiting. Also if they won't stop crying or if they don't seem themselves then you might want to get them checked out.

Hi
I have the same problem with my dd but seem to disagree that it is part of development. My dd started climbing at about 7 mths and if I don't follow her around all the time she would hit her head every 5 minutes. But we do have wood floors and a fire place to watch out for so maybe that makes a difference. I just thing at her age I don't want constant hits to the head especially the front around the temple. I would suffer great guilt if she cut her head on the corner of a cupboard or the fireplace.
But hey I know I am paranoid but I prefer it that way
