I only got the okay yesterday that things were looking "OK" with my soon to be bubs, so now I can actually plan to bring home a new baby in about 12 weeks. :smiliedance::smiliedance:
I know there are heaps of posts like this but I need help..
Here is my stash:
2 large magicalls (velcro)
2 cushie tushies basix (not used much)
1 natural bbh bamboo
3 coloured bbh bamboo
1 lge monkeyz doodle (micro)- loove it
1 lge itti snap in one (pul)
2 lge itti aio (sewn in)
3 lge side snap swaddlebee (loooove these on my ds)
2 gk anytimes
1 gk funtimes (don't really use it)
3 lge zada night nappies
1 XL very baby simply nights (still very big on ds so far)
3 cute tooshies bamboo fitted (not absorbent enough for ds)
1 sml peapod (anxious as to whether it was $ well spent!)
1 sml magicall velcro
1 med swaddlebee side snap
maybe 24 terry flats
2 Baby beehinds covers- lge
1 or 2 lge 2nd hand fleece covers (backup only)
1 lge handknitted soaker
1 lge hand knitted shorties
Seeking opinions on:
what I can get that would be useful for both kids (or good specifically for newborns), as I don't know what else to buy..
cute going out nappies that are cute for both boys and girls (dunno the sex)
I also need advice on:
best quality and best value covers.
are one size covers any good?
Trim nappies that I can use under onesie suits so new bubs can get wear out of the ones I have from ds
can I use the same lge bamboo boosters on gk for new baby?
do large cloth nappies go ok in capsule/ car seat when bubs new?
would woollen longies be too hot in Qld in November?
thanks from a very excited mama to be.:goodvibes:.

for fitteds id go babybeehinds bamboos, or cute tooshies, i guess it depends on how much the little one wets. Emma at patch nappies also does fantastic and very cute patterned fitted too

thanks..
any other advice out there..?... i am finding it is a minefield
Phew!! Is all I can say about that post!
In regards to nappies that would be useful for both bubs, I would pick up a few more Baby BeeHinds fitted in hemp or bamboo (whichever is your preference).
Also a few smaller sized PUL covers - they would be useful over your terry flats for the newborn stage. I also think Bummi's covers are great. And Berry Plush are stunning, but not cheap.
For cute 'showing off' nappies, I can't go past Bubblebubs . Or maybe you could get some more Bitti D'lish in a small size? Or some Green Kids Minkytimes if you like the green kids - I think the patterns on these are gorgeous, I just got the blue retro dot minky the other week and it's soooo lovely!
I personally have found the Bitti d'lish to be the trimmest fitting nappy on my DD.
And I do think that a woolen longie would be a bit hot in Summer - having said that, I haven't actually tried. Maybe try the Baby BeeHinds wool cover? I love mine!
That's about all I have my answers for, not sure about the other stuff.
You should sell the nappies that you don't really use to raise some funds for new stuff .

Get a couple of cute soakers instead of longies! Bubs will look so cute in a soaker and singlet in summer :goodvibes:
And I'd get some more terry flats- honestly, the amount newborns poop and wee... it's not worth putting on something slow-drying and super-lush like a bamboo BB every time you feed and change  If I were you, I'd probably save them for when baby has longer naps between feeds and starts to have a longer sleep at night. And it doesn't take long to change a flannellette flat in summer when you don't even need to put a cover over the top if you're around and get to it after he or she wee's (or has a blow-out!).
I don't know about one-size covers, but pul wraps or covers with gussetts are great for newborns in particular  Seeing as you don't need many, I'd get a couple in each size perhaps.
Then I'd have a stash of Green Kids with bamboo inserts (more inserts then pockets- bamboo is the absolute best, but slower drying). Mostly Anytimes, but with a couple of minkytimes for outings. Funtimes (and other cotton pul pockets) just don't last long enough washes before beginning to deteriorate to make them worthwhile IMO. But Green Kids Anytimes (with bamboo inserts) are awesome!
Hope that helps!! :D
