Chicken pox question..

My girls are 7 and 3 and neither have had chicken pox yet.
What age did your child get chicken pox and should I think about getting them immunised now that they are getting older... :idea:

Vallerie was 2.5 when she got it.

I'm not convinced about the varicella vaccine because they can't really tell me how long it remains effective for. There may be a booster shot required at about age 18, but because it's all quite new there's no real definite answer yet.

Jas had them when she was 4. I don't think she suffered excessively. The hardest thing was keeping her away from all other kids for 10 days also because we were both working we had to take a lot of time off work.

DS is only 1 and hasnt had them yet but will be getting the shot for it at 18 months and DP will joining DS in getting a shot :laughing: i got chicken pox when i was 7 years old. i havent had them since:smiliedance:
