well i got off the line from the 13 health and they told me to get a doctor out for coop. was either gonna do that or take him to hospital but just wanted another opinion.

well past few days he has barely eaten, most of his daycare lunch is returned home to me. he doesnt drink his bottles(maybe 50ml out of 3 bottles but he will drink all his juice in his sippy cup and then another sippy cup with water in it)

tonight he didnt eat his dinner just like the past few nights. he got all upset when i ran his bath so he hasnt had a bath for 3 days, or it could be 2, i got no idea. but anyway he has a non stop running nose, really bad cough, not too long ago it was as though he was chocking from coughing too much. he is still doing wees and poos but i dont think as many as he normally does.

what do you ladies all think? i think he may have the flu but not really sure. tonight he being so sooky but i dont blame him as he really aint feeling the best. should i just wait it out for the doctor or try my luck at the hospital? i just really got no idea

Aww poor boy he's probably feeling yucky from the flu or cold or whatever virus he has.

Hmm are you worried enough to take him to the hospital? If so, go. Trust your instincts.

I'm sure the doctor will tell you whether it's serious enough to go to hospy. I always find the locums are fantastic - they are not really the types who rush in and rush out iykwim. I've found them to be very thorough in comparison to other docs that I've seen who tend to write out a script and tell me to "see how I go".

Good luck, I hope he's feeling better soon :hugs:

Could be bronchialitis - DS had this a couple of weeks ago and had similar symptoms. NOt sure what to suggest. Where abouts are you located? At the very least I would see a GP asap. If you're in Brisbane I know of a practice that opens on weekend mornings and afternoons. (South west side)

How Long until the Dr can come?

If its not too long I would wait for him- but if it's going to be hours and hours- I would go to hospital.

If your really worried about him then maybe just go to hospital.

Hope he feels better soon

TBH I'd rather wait at home, in a calming environment (for both me and bubs) for a doctor, than traipse to the hospital and wait with other sick people, in a cold environment where my boy can't 'roam' if he wants to, you know? I've waited 3 hours in a hospital with heart problems before... If the doctor suggests going to the hospital ask if there's something you can take to be seen quicker as you've already had a drs assessment... (unsure if this still exists, but it should! I remember my mum getting something when I had appendicitus... that was 14 years ago though)

But that is just me.. and my feelings on the matter. :hugs: I hope he fines up soon.

does he have a temp?

if he has a temp and you can't keep it down then I would take him to hosp, otherwise I would wait for th doc to come, hopefully it wouldn't be too much longer

not too sure if he has a temp(i must be so clueless at times) but he is quite warm. he has the heater on low, trackies and skivvy on coz he always kicks his blankets off n his room gets quite cold. i do kinda want to avoid going to the hospital as i dont drive and who knows how long we could be there for. might just wait for doctor and see what he says.

he is just so unwell atm is really upsetting as i just cant make him feel any better and it doesnt help the pegs in his mouth are coming through either

As you don't drive and unless you have someone to drive, I'd wait for the Dr. You'll probably wait just as long at the hospy as you're waiting now, but at least at home you're a whole lot more comfy.

You said he's still taking fluids. His bottle probably makes him feel gunked up - just like milk does to us when we're all snuffed up. You also said he's still weeing, so he's still getting (just) enough fluids.

If he's warm but not feverish I wouldn't overly worry as it means his body of fighting off the infection.

Just keep a close eye on him so that he doen't become rapidly unwell IYKWIM

If he has a sudden spike of temp, put him in a tepid/warm NOT COLD bath, and call an ambulance.

If his temp is slowly rising, give him some Panadol.

Most of all - relax a little if you can as he'll get upset from your anxiety.

Maybe if he really needs a shower - hop in together for a quick rinse, if not just 'top & tail' with a warm facewasher.

Good luck and keep us posted

Good luck :hugs::hugs::hugs: hopefully he will feel better in the morning.

I remember a while back I was frantic about DS being unwell and he woke up the next morning as if nothing had happened.

:iagree:

We dont have a car either so i really have to feel out of my depth now to head to the hospital because taking them out in the cold can do more harm than good IMO. Having a doctor coming out is just as good so hopefully he/ she will get things sorted.

Good luck :hugs:

hon I dont think you live that far from me????

IF you DO live brissie southside .. please remember that the Grand PLaza Medical and Dental Centre is open from 8am till 10pm EVERY day of the week .. there is often a fairly good wait (there are no appointment .. its first in first served) but that might be better than a hospital - or waiting at home for a GP .. if everything is still not ok .. that might be a good option???

let me know- I can recommend three doctors at the surgery ..

I hope things are a little better today!

hey ladies, well it turns out he has an infection. he is still coughing really bad and bout half hour ago when he went to bed, he must have been asleep for bout 10mins but woke up coughing that bad, he was having trouble breathing(he has like a 80yr old man smokers cough). i am not sure how he was last night as he went to carolines place as i needed a good night sleep as we were up and down all night on friday. think we must of had about 4 hours sleep or so.

he is his happy little self during the day but come night time its really bad esp with his breathing. i put some more smelly stuff in his vapouriser and it seemed to help him sleep better as it was stronger but still didnt have the best sleep. i have decided not to go to work tomorrow as i think he needs a day away from daycare to help him recover.

heres hoping for a good nights sleep and to him feeling better
