MY TWIN DAUGHTERS 'HAD' SHOCKING ECZEMA AND IVE HAD ALL TESTS AVAILABLE DONE.AFTER NOTHING CONCLUSIVE BEING FOUND I TURNED TO THE LOCAL HEALTH FOOD SHOP.THEY SUGGESTED THAT YOU CAN APPLY ALL THE CREAMS IN THE WORLD TO SOOTHE IT BUT UNLESS U KNOW THE CAUSE IT KEEPS COMING BACK.SO IVE RECENTLY STARTED MY GIRLS ON A SUPPLEMENT OF OMEGA OILS.IT TREATS THE INTERNAL CAUSES OF ECZEMA.ITS CALLED MEGA OIL.WE NO LONGER RELY ON STERIOD CREAMS AND THE MAKER OF MEGA OIL HAS A STERIOD FREE CREAM AVAILABLE FOR THE FLARE UPS.ITS EXPENSIVE BUT TO HAVE MY GIRLS SLEEPING THRU AND RASH FREE ITS WORTH IT.MY DR WAS SCEPTICAL BUT ID TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE AVAILABLE.THEY STILL HAVE OCCASIONAL FLARE UPS BUT NO WHERE NEAR THE EXTENT THEY USED TO.IT IS ALL NATURAL AND SAFE FOR BABIES.IT DID TAKE A FEW WEEKS B4 I SAW RESULTS.CHECK OUT THE WEB SITE FOR MORE INFO.WWW.ECZEMA-PSORIASIS.COM. IT HAS EVERYTHING U NEED FROM SOAPS,SHAMPOOS AND BATH OILS.
Hi there
I think the oils sound like a very good idea!! but if your little girl is actually allergic to cow's milk than I don't think you have much alternative than to cut out cow's milk from your diet!! and of course cow's milk is in EVERYTHING, even margarine ... and even in some breadcrumbs! You have to look carefully at all the labels and it is under so many different names [whey protein, casein etc etc!]
I have had to do this for one of mine too - and since, I have discovered that cow's milk causes HUGE amounts of problems for us humans! - maybe just as much as soy??!! Goat's milk protein is very similar to cow's milk and apparently most who are allergic to CM are also allergic to GM - so I don't really know what alternatives you have ... unless it is rice milk?! [personally - Bleah!]. I would go, and have gone, with the soy I'm afraid.
Goat's milk might be worth a try though - a friend of mine whose son was allergic to cow's milk had to cut it out of her diet and she replaced it with goat's milk and he showed massive improvements in everything - and she said that she felt better too. Don't know if you have brands like Nuttelex in the UK but it is a margarine spread which has no cow's milk in it and is a good replacement. She also used some soy milk - both were on the advice of her doctor. So I don't think it will hurt to try them. Good luck!

My son has eczema and we took him to the allergy clinic at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in sydney and we discovered he is allergis to eggs, dustmites and cows milk. We have him on an elimination diet and when I stopped breast feeding tried various formulas ( hypoallergenic, soy and goats) but none agreed with him amd they finally put him on a prescription formula called elecare which works great. His eczema is almost all gone(just a few flare ups on his scalp during the colder months). I really have to make a consious effort to minimise his exposure to the things that trigger his eczema like what he eats, drinks, what clothes he wears and his exposure to dust mites (carpet, bedding, stuffed toys etc)
All this has made a huge improvement, Next I am going to shave his head so that I can get to the eczema on his scalp (I know someone who did that and it got rid of the eczema on her babies head)
My advice to you would be to do alot of research and get your baby tested as soon as possible because the longer their exposed to what ever it is their allergic too the worse the allergy gets
Good luck :)

I'm currently treating a young boy with terrible eczema, using a combination of Dietary modification, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.
First of all - get off the cow's milk & related dairy products as soon as possible. They are a major trigger for Eczema. Goat milk is a far better alternative, and Oat Milk or Rice Milk - available from Woolworths - are also very good, and very gentle on the digestive system.
In Chinese Medicine, Eczema has many underlying causes, but the main presentation is that the blood is not able to "Nourish" the skin properly for one reason or another - usually because of a problem with the digestive system, caused most frequently by overfeeding in quality (too rich/ difficult to digest), or quantity (too much) of food.
Chinese Medicine gets fantastic results in Eczema treatments. If you'd like to know more, see my offer under "Samples & Free Stuff" in the Forum.
