Has anyone birthed at Maitland Public? What was your experience? I keep hearing some good and some bad stories!

Hi

I had my second son at Maitland Hospital 14 weeks ago. I don't really have anything bad to say about them. The midwives i had in delivery were wonderful, not that i saw them for long (my labour was only 1hr,9 mins). In the maternity ward, i had the room to myself for the majority of my stay. There was probably 2 midwives that i didn't like but most of them were great. I think no matter where you go, there are always not so nice midwives/nurses. Overall i thought it was a really relaxing positive experience.

Hi
I have had all four of my children at Maitland Hospital over a ten year period and have always found it relaxing and helpful. My first birth was a stillborn and I found the staff incredible.(that experience wouldnt have been easy anywhere, though)
My next three births were fantastic. All delivered by confident hands off midwives who believed in my birthing choices and would only step in or offer advice if needed or asked. I would not hesitate to have more babies at Maitland if I was having more.
