DS is 2 and has a nap most days and then sleeps about eleven hours a night, however his nap times and bed times are not always the same. Sometimes his nap is at 12 sometimes not till 2 and sometimes not at all. At night he goes to bed between 7 and 9, or if he's being real difficult we go to bed together at 930.
Do you put your children down at the same times every day, why/why not?

At 2 she was getting up around 6am and going to bed around 6 or 6:30pm with no day time nap. Her daycare staff were annoyed with me that she wouldn't have a nap even though she only went to daycare maybe once a week for the full day depending on my work times

Now she's 5 she goes to bed around 7:30pm and wakes around 5am and has done for about a year and a half now. I don't "put her down" at all, she knows when she's tired and it just happens to be the same time every day :)

DS is 3 and most days he still has 2 naps during the day, he wakes up at around 6.30am, sometimes earlier every morning.

Then around 9am he has a nap, then again around 1pm.

I dont force him to have a sleep unless he obviously needs one, which if he only has one, he has lunch then a lie down/rest, which he usually falls asleep himself..

Then with bedtime, we usually have him down at 7.30pm, but sometimes he lies awake, other times I let him play quitely, until 8-8.30pm when he HAS to stay in bed and go to sleep, no talking, no playing, sleep or lay there quitely until he is asleep...

Most days, he puts himself down for a sleep. I will be doing something, and talk to him, go into the lounge room or into his bedroom and he'll be sound asleep....

ETA: I try to be consistant with his bed time, as it is our bed time too...so we need him to be quiet and sleep for us to get sleep...

I've heard that putting little ones (well, and ourselves really) to bed at the same time each night helps with good sleep patterns.

DS goes to bed every night at 7 pm and he usually wakes between 6.15 and 7 am. 7 is nice :D

He has his day nap after we have lunch each day. Usually about 1.5 hrs.

My dd2 goes to bed around 7:30 everynight and sleeps till 6/7:30. Sometimes a little latter. If she sleeps to 7 or latter she don't always have a day nap. But if she don't sleep I make her have quite time either in her room or watch a movie. When she does have a nap nap it's usually around 2 to 3 hrs. I guess she is starting to get out of her day naps but then still needs a little catch up on some days.

My dd1 well I don't think I will even go there. She is a horrible sleeper as some of you may already know from my other post.
