Sinus Headache. What can I do?

I've had, what I know as a sinus headache, since Tuesday.
It's driving me bonkers. Panadol just doesn't work, I can't take nurofen, and I can't take my ol' favourite cold & flu tablets.

Anyone know anything I can take for this?

first of all big :hugs: .
I know exactly what you're going through as i had the nasty flu a week ago that lasted over 2 weeks, the unfortunate news is there is nothing you can do other than take panadol even if it's not working. Try and rest as much as you can.. have a nanny nap during the day for 2 hours or so. Best way to deal with it is to sleep it off. This is pretty gross but very effective.

Either go to the chemist and buy some Fess or use a small plastic syringe and snort some salt water solution. Clears the passages and makes that throb disappear.

honey you can take polaramine :smiliedance: ... I never did (it makes me REALLY sleepy) - but since I suffer sinus too I asked the DR when I was pregnant... she said it was safe ...

otherwise... fluid.. panadol and sleep :(

Yeah, last time I went to the doc about a throat infection (couldn't talk.. blah.. good for some) the only thing he could do was give me polaramine. I still have the prescription here... hehe I know it was a 'sleep through' method.

I'll look in the chemist for that Fess stuff... if I can handle the snort :O

ahh :no: . I cant handle the nose spray thing... makes my eyes weep something chronic... you could chat to the chemist... they might even have a generic version of polaramine- cheaper?? (I think the sudoephidrine (sp??) - the wonderful 'upper' in sudafed is what you have to avoid???) it depends on what kind of sinus you get too.... there is definately something in the air... I had one last week that went for days. :(

Fess is great Nikki - works wonders. It's just saline, so it's safe - kind of like inhaling the ocean really :p .

Have you tried inhaling steam? That should clear things out.

I find that sometimes witha sinus headache, if I put my head over a bowl of steam with a towel over my head, that sometimes helps.

yeah I do that too. :yes: .. you can also add a smidge of vicks to the bowl :)
