Hi all,

Last Tuesday I had a laparoscopy with a D&C, tubal patency and a hysteroscopy (SP?).....

AF is due this Thursday so just a little over a week after the procedure.

My question is, would I expect AF to be light this time round given that a D&C would of cleaned everything out, and that there wouldnt be much left for AF to shed?

I had the usual 2 days post op loss, and then I had 3 days of no blood loss, and then over the weekend I had some spotting which today has lead into bright red spotting where I have needed a pad, but it definately isnt AF heaviness.

I'm wondering if it might actually be AF, but extremely light given that the procedure was less than a week ago?

Just wondering if anyone can share there experience that also had a LAP.

Cheers

Hi Crafty,

I had 3 days of spotting after my laparoscopy.

AF was due that week, it came about a week late and medium (usually I get the super-heavy type) and I went back to my usual 31-day cycle after that.

Good luck working out your dates :sunshine:

After a D&C bleeding can come and go for a few weeks. I spotted for a couple of weeks but never really bleed. It can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 8 weeks for the next cycle. It varies widely. I was 5 weeks however this was not particularly abnormal for me. I would probably suggest that is just some more bleeding but I am not sure. Dr is probably the best to answer this one. Sorry I can't be more help. This is a frustrating time for TTCers, waiting, waiting, when can you try again!
