ok ... I'm quite excited... :smiliedance:

due to the fact that it is real nappy week ... there have been several events organised right around the country...

On saturday there is a Nappycino (nappy 'display') being held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, cnr Boundary Road & Beechcroft St, Coopers Plains
Sat April 29th, 9am to 1pm

It is simply a relaxed chance for people to see what their cloth options are these days... nappies have come a LONG way since flat terry squares...

come along... meet a few other cloth loving people .. have a look and feel of a HUGE range of nappies (lots of SAHMs who make nappies will be there too)...

there is no pressure to purchase (no nappies can be bought on the day) - so come and have a coffee... and chat with other mums :ecomcity: ... kids are definately welcome..

(please PM me... or email Lesley at www.cherubskiss.com for more details)

thanks
:hugs:
Jen

ps if you DO attend ... please track me down and say hello .. I love to meet other bubhubbers... I'll be there with my DS... :yelclap:

Is Coopers Plains on the Southside???
Im at the northern end of the coast so if it is southside and isnt too far away I would be interested in having a squiz

Thanks Veve, I think I'll try and make it. Have been wanting to make the switch for a while. Do you know if there will be the sample bags of different nappies for sale that babyjoy
quote- "bought a trial pack which has a variety of fitted nappies in it (wool all-nighters, bamboo, terry, one size fits all) plus bamboo inserts, wool cover, PUL cover, and a bamboo flat nappy so I can try them all and see which one works best on Laura."- quote
still not sure how to do the quote thingy...

no dramas (you do the quote thing by clicking on the quote box down the right hand corner of the message :) )

- I dont know about sample bags... I DO know that different mums do trial packs.. but I dont know if it is possible to try different nappies from different mums ..

I DO know that the cloth mums out there are keen to hear about ideas for sposie users (things that would interest you .. to motivate you to try cloth - I will pass that idea on)

- I'd also be interested in how much that sample bag cost... and which mum she got it off... I'd love to chat to her and see how it was organised..

hope to see you there ... I'll try to remember to wear a pink (bubhub colour :D) ribbon in my ponytail... I'll try

There's nothing Northside, sorry, trying to find a venue, that didn't cost an arm and a leg was quite a challenge, but it is only about 600m from the Banoon Railway Station, if that's of any help.

We do have cloth meets on the Northside from time to time - most of the clothies seem to live on the Southside  I'm sure Veve  , will keep you updated on the next one.

Cheers

Veve - what time are you going? I won't make it until closer to lunchtime as DH has taken the car to golf and I have that plastic gathering this morning.

hi guys and veve. i just got back from it. i was happy i went, despite the how far it was. i got to see the different types and ask lots of questions. they were happy to take the time to answer my queries, and the best thing was that they weren't allowed to sell anything so there was no pressure to buy.
i also won a prize a t the door.
i was there from about 10am til 10.30am . was anyone there at that time?????
i mentioned bubhub to a couple of stallholders but got semi blank looks..

i wished i read this before i went otherwise i would have tracked you down. i spoke to a few people. maybe you were one of them. now i'm hesitant to ask this because i asked it as a joke to a male forum member and told i was violating the UA and one more strike and i'm banned frrom the site..... so i won't ask what you were wearing but maybe what you look like. i spoke to two ladies at the door, one with short wavy red hair and glasses, another with blonde pony tail, jeans and white top on, who called out the door prizes. another blonde freckly pregnant, but small lady behind a stall, a beautiful looking long dark haired lady who sold fabrics, and briefly spoke to a blonde lady selling the hemp and bamboo nappies.............hope i don't get myself into trouble., but were you one of these??

The lady at the door with jeans and glasses and a pink ribbon in her hair was our Veve.

veve, i definitely spoke to you. i'm trying to remember what it was about....oh yeah...nappies!! you were manning the table closest to the door and there was a mix of nappies on it , and i picked up the hemp ones and said 'weren't these on that table over there before' pointing to another table. and then we spoke about pocket nappies with an all in one cover, then i looked confused (wonderinng about why the polar fleece ones didn't need a cover), then you said you just have to find what s right for you. and i think you mentioned how something ????? didn't work for you.....some type of nappy but i can't remember why, and i said well i have the list so i just need to go home and check it out on the internet now.
then i won a door prize (ticket D26) ..... a breastfeeding necklace, then i left. i had on a black sleeveless top and camflouage style knee length shorts. dark hair too.

hang on, if you were the one handing out the door prizes, then i was the girl who came up and said, i've never won anything before. i was about to leave, and you said i'm going to draw it in 7 minutes, so i waited.

i had the nappy conversation with a red haired lady and the prize conversation with a blonde hair lady in jeans. the breastfeeding neckless set was brown.

well hello there. i wish i had said something at the time because i was looking around wondering if there were any bhubbers there, but the first two people i asked ...it didn't seem to register, so i didn 't ask anyone after that. what a bummer.

Well, I couldn't make it (not feeling great :barf: ) but I feel like I was there now with the blow by blow descriptions of clothes, conversations, ticket numbers etc!! :D Sounds like a good time was had by all :)

veve, maybe you could bring some of your nappies to the dinner and I could have a sticky beak then.............pretty please?

mysonroger.......I'm off to start the thread on funeral music - see you there ;)
