i am trying to convert to clothies but i need some advice. even after reading all the threads on cloth nappies i am unsure about which ones to get. what have you guys found the easiest to use. i want ones that i mainly change the inside and the outer part stays dry. does that mean i need to use an aio or covers? what brands are better than others and reasonably cheap. i have an 8 month old and planning to have another eventually - so i want something i can use for a while on a newborn and a toddler. can i get any good nappies second hand?
please help me! i really need
hmm ok ... the ones that you only change the insides are called eeenies... and I know that Oscarsmum uses them ( I dont... I actually have never touched one... I should check them out :D)
- if you want to learn more... and find a good place to score an occasional second hand nappy ( in good nick) - check out the nappycino forum... often mums are selling small or older nappies so that they can afford new ones... its a good way to check out what is out there (nappycino is also full of mums who make their own nappies ... so you can learn heaps!!) - having said that... make sure that it doesn't cut into your bubhub time  you have to have your priorities right!!!
if you need any more info (or if I haven't answered your question  ) let me know :)

Veve
what sort of nappies do you use (brand)? what are they like? how much do they cost?
 I wish you had mentioned this at the meet the other day :)
it WAS you at the g city meet wasn't it?? with your gorgeous little girl!!
I had a BAG full of nappies
xx
I personally love pocket nappies...
see the ones I like at www.greennappies.com these nappies do NOT need a cover..
if you want an AIO (no covers or inserts needed) I can definately recommend the honeyboys www.cherubskiss.com or babybeehinds www.babybeehinds.com.au for pure quality - although AIOs CAN take longer to dry... (which is one reason I love pockets)
but you will find that EVERYONE on here has a love for a different nappy..

yes it was me. when you metioned using cloths i got curious but didn't really think about it until later that day when i saw a thread about how much they actually save you. you are welcome to come for a coffee and some cake (or anzac bickies) with your bag full of nappies for me to have a look. do you use the one brand or several different ones? do you have leakage problems at night?
oooh and you only live 10 minutes from me too... :D
I might PM you if that is ok ???
I honestly have NEVER had a leak at nighttime with my DS... and he is 5 1/2 months old and has never had a nappyrash either...
you REALLY should come to the nappycino display on saturday ... I might start a thread about it so that other brissie mums know that it is on...
hang on :)

What, you're not going to make them?? LOL as I nearly finish making my third this week!:p
Seriously, it's fantastic that you are switching. And Veve is the greatest at recommending!
You could try Ebay too. That is where I have come across a few. I also prefer a cover. I love pocket nappies with a PUL coating.
The ones I find easiest-unfortunately though they have a piece of PVC coating in them-are made by CUTY. I was given some along the way and although they are not technically natural fibre, they are Soooooo easy to use. You just place a 4times folded rectangle terry in it and fold the velcro together. I have no idea where to buy them though as I was given them. The ones I am making are of a similar design-I just have to get it right:o hence why I am on my third. Can't settle for anything less than perfection.:D
Belinda, I am/was in the same position as you... really want to switch to full-time clothies but have no idea which ones are best. I checked out a stall for Real Nappy Week and could then see and feel each of the nappies and covers. I bought a trial pack which has a variety of fitted nappies in it (wool all-nighters, bamboo, terry, one size fits all) plus bamboo inserts, wool cover, PUL cover, and a bamboo flat nappy so I can try them all and see which one works best on Laura. Then I can buy more of that type if I want. So I really recommend checking out Veve's stash of nappies - it makes the decision making much easier than scanning websites and ebay!
