My daughter has never had a reaction to sunscreen before until now... at daycare they put sunscreen on her the other day and after her rest she broke out in a rash all over her face, neck and behind her ears. (it was for sensitive skin) so i got the bananaboat sunscreen and it happened again today!

Will she be able to wear sunscreen?

One of the toddlers in my sons daycare is allergic to sunscreen. He broke out also and so they took him to doctors who found he was allergic.
Anyway he now uses a special brand of sunscreen - I'm not sure if its prescribed or natural though. They are really strict though about not letting anyone put normal sunscreen on him.
I would take your child to a doctor and get it looked at asap

I have got booked in to a specialist on the 16th May, for other things, do you think to hold off to then? I have told her not to put sunscreen her until i get it checked out.

Hi,

I noticed at the baby shop they had sunscreens that are different from the Chemist. There is one called UV Natural which is a natural formula for babies. It is about $10 there was another brand too but I can't remember it, I just happened to have this brochure next to the computer and read your thread. Their email is admin@uvnatural.com, I am in Qld and it is made here. Sorry I didn't read where you are from but the shop up here that sells it is called Sugartown Babes and I think they are on the internet.

Might be worth a try.

Its great that you have been able to get an appointment that quick. Not much you can do but wait. Definetly forget the sunscreen until then - I wouldn't even bother buying the natural ones until you know for sure.
