AF after pregnancy?

I'm waiting for AF to come, so that I can start TTC in May, and nothings happening. I'm getting very frustrated at the moment as my cycles before pregnancy were like clockwork.

I didn't have any AF while breastfeeding (my sisters all did) and I have only had one since weaning my DS and now, assuming my cycles are the same lengthwise as they were prior to my pregnancy, I'm six days late.

Is it normal for cycles to be irregular at first after a pregnancy? Hopefully some of you here can ease my mind.

Hi there,yes it is very normal for af to take time to regulate after pregnancy. Have you been on any contraception since your last pregnancy?

No I wasn't on any contraception, I wasn't actively trying to get pregnant but wasn't actively avoiding it either.

ok,then it is quite possible that you could be. I would do a test to find out,but it also could just be that your cycle is getting back to normal. Good luck i hope that you get the result that you want.:yes:

I had to fully wean to get AF back too - I had one irregular cycle and now have 29 day cycles with O around day 15 whereas before I was a 28 day cycle with O around day 14...wierd! AF lasts one day longer too :confused:

I used to have a 22 day cycle which was a bit annoying so if its longer (29 days so far) I wouldn't mind. I just want to know where I'm up to.

I'm 99.9% sure I'm not pregnant because of when we BD this month but now if my cycle isn't what I thought then who knows. I may just have to cave and do a test
