Hi,
Just curious what people have to share about Campbelltown Hospital?
I asked my doc if i should go to Camden and he said that their facilities werent as good as Campbelltown.

What about the Birthing Center?

I had both of my other kids at St George Hosp, Kogarah and loved it.

Thanks

Both of my sisters in law had their babies at Campbelltown (one vaginal and the most recent was elective c-section) and were then transferred to Camden, as bed space at Campbelltown is limited.
Camden hospital was great, they both had a rooms to themselves and because it was never at capacity they had a midwife to two patients so they had really attentive care as well. Its also all new as well, great views in rooms, visiting hours were a lot more relaxed.
You hear a lot of bad things about Campbelltown hospital but since its refurbishment its a lot better, one of the midwives even said morale was higher because equipment was new, brighter, clean etc.

No horror stories here!:)

I had my DD at ctown hospital nearly nine months ago now and i dont have a single negative thing to say about my stay there, It was great (well as great as being in hosp can be)
originally the plan was to get transfered to camden after the birth as they have better rooms and less ppl go there so u get more attentive care. but due to complications after the birth it was easier to stay at campbelltown.
I got induced on the tuesday night at bailey was born on wednesday and i left on friday morning. so i wasnt in the maternity ward for long. The rooms were really nice (i was there just after the refurbishment.) i only had to share with one other girl (dont get me started on her. she left her baby alone for 3 hours so she could go have a smoke)
I had a good experience at Campbelltown Hosp. ALthough i had a friend who had her baby 4 weeks b4 me and she had a terrible time.

Good luck with ur baby and we'll prob meet sometime with the meets happening

I had my bub at Campbelltown Hospital and i will have my next one there too. They were great. The rooms were fantastic. They have single rooms or double rooms (it used to be 4 people per room). The rooms were clean.. lots more space...better TV's. Each room had a big bath room and even a baby bath area.
The Delivery suites were also fantastic. The rooms are huge so lots of room for moving around. They now have new spa's in them. Recliners for the dads. TV's, Cd players, oil burners they have the works.

Everything was really clean and all the midwifes were really great.:D

We had our baby in the Birthing Centre at Camden two and a half years ago, and have no complaints about the facilities or staff. Having worked back and forth between the two hospitals, I'd have to say that Camden Staff are generally a little friendlier and more relaxed, but there are great staff at Campbelltown too. If you want a quieter environment, aren't at risk of complications, and don't mind an extra 20 minute drive, go for Camden, otherwise Campbelltown! :)
