Any recs? Don't really mind if it is a GP used to treating small kids. I don't think you need a paed for every little thing.

We have Medibank Private but if would be useful to know what the gap was if you happen to remember.

Thanks in advance!

What kind of paed do you need?

What on earth do you mean what kind of paed? We're new to the area, just a regular go-to paed. No there are no special issues, though I'd have thought most paeds were generalists anyway.

In Australia, you don't go to the paediatrician like you do in America. The paeds are specialists, like dermatologists or oncologists. You need a referral from a GP to see a paediatrician, so you have to see the GP first for treatment. Its only if the GP can't treat the problem that you get a referral to the paed.

Sorry if this sounds rude, but i dont think Candyn was asking in any stupid way!
Shes been a wonderful help to me in the past!

Maybe you could ask around your area for reccommendations for a child friendly GP.Maybe your local MCHN,playgroup,kinder..etc...Maybe ask few mums.Somtimes they are the best!
Good luck..

Sorry if you took offense but as Tam I AM said we don't go to paeds with everyday problems here in australia, They are only used if their is a problem with a child.
For example my son has ASD / Aspergers and he see a developmental and behavourial paediatrician.:)

Maybe you are after what we call a General practitioner.
