My daughter is named Chanel Elizabeth. I think it's pretty, but it wasn't my first choice (damn DP's wanting a say! lol).
I was wondering if there are any names which you'd love to have used, but didn't, for whatever reason. I figure it might help other mums-to-be name their little ones...
Girls:
Scarlet Delilah (was my first choice - most people think it sounds like a hooker name...so I didn't get my way)
Sapphire Whitney
Laurenn (not Lauren...but Laur-enn)
Aurore
Gracie (which is a combo of DP's name: Graham, and my name Stacey).
Elanore
Victoria
Olivia
Violette
Viola
Georgette
Boys:
James (LOVE the name James - always have)
Andrew
Adam
Xavier
Lyle
Harris
Hayden
Xander
I loved Finn for a boy and Jordyn for a girl!

For a boy I like Jasper and Ryan.

Girl - Kennedee, Madelyn, D'Arcy/Darcie, Bridie & Paige
Boy - Jaxon, Connor, & I love Aubrey now too....
Brandon for a boy, our surname starts with O so hubby was worried about B.O. initials.

I liked D'Arcy/darcie too - but DH put his foot down - for some reason he thinks the reason I like the name is something to do with Colin Firth in Pride and Predjudice .. Dont know where he got that idea from:o Anyway, he said no.. otherwise our bub would have been Darcy even if she was a boy!

littlepickle i quite like Darcy for a boy too, though i don't think Dh would.....
I really wanted DS to be named Jakeb Dean. Got a big fat NO WAY from DP.
I've always loved Ethan for a boy, until I heard it couple with my DP last name and my Irish cousins pronouncing it ........ "Eaten Bone" (Ethan Bone) and you could imagine the conotations children would come up with for that (and at the time he was born we were planning on moving to Ireland for a couple of years!!)
I've always loved Alana's name ... though NOT the spelling. I WANTED to spell it EHLANA OR ELANA so that it would be pronounced with the "E" sound NOT "A"

I still think darcie is a nice name for a boy. It always was a boys name until people started naming girls darcy. Trying to think of famous Darcy's apart from Mr darcy of course - there is Darcie Bussel (dont know if I spelled that right - Prima ballerina) and now my mind has gone blank... and then theres Mark darcy from bridget jones's diary .. sorry thats Colin firth again.. hmm
The only name we agreed on for a boy was Ty (nick named Tyger - I thought cute). I also liked Ashley but DH didn't like it as could be a boy or girl, I wasn't even allowed to have it as a second name so Adam was chosen by DH.
If I had a girl it was going to be Shaelee Alisha.
I love the name Tate and have finally worn DP down to being allowed to give that to our son as his middle name. At least I think I have. He might still refuse at the last minute.
If bubby was a girl she would have been Kendall or Teghan. We both agreed on Kendall, and Teghan was a back-up.
I love the name Taryn too. Its from an old TV show called umm...Paper Dolls or something? The character played by Nicolette Sheridan. Always remembered it from there.
Used to love the name Caitlin before it got so popular. Still like it but wouldn't use it now.
Love Peyton but DP nixed that before it got a chance.
Love Claudia. Also like Lyndsay (girl) for some reason, but wouldn't use it.
Like Damon but can't be bothered with the whole pronouncing dilemma of Day-min vs Day-monn.
Love Aurora shortened to Rori. Love Libby.
I like more girls names than boys names.
We had a book of 50 000 names and we went through them all
A few of the names I liked that we didn't use were
For a girl Zoe, Erin, Audrey, Lilith, Anais, Orla, Pandora, Elodie, Scarlett, Ariel, Sylvia, Frida, Evangeline, Genevieve, Raven, Lorelei.
DH liked Vashti, Tristessa, Astrid, Frederica, Jamila, Nadia, Rhea, Giselle, Octavia, Phaedra, Ophelia and 'Winter' as a middle name!!
For boys we liked Casper, Byron, Orlando, Ronan, Rupert, Alastair, Alexander, Oscar, Oliver, Sebastian, William - but we stopped looking at those once we knew we were having a girl.

My sons name was Bodhi James for a couple of hours... but then changed to Bodhi Nathaniel, as he was born on my hubby's mates birthday. His mate passed away when they were teens... so we felt it appropriate for Bodhi to carry on his name. Suits him better than Bodhi James too!
Other names we had considered were
Flynn - but we named a baby gecko that instead
Charly - hubby didn't like it
Yen - as above
Yarn - as above
Yindi - as above
For girls, (apart from one secret name that I won't disclose ;) )
We both really liked Lily, but it's not uncommon these days... same with Isabella
Aurora
Harmony
I love the name Jezebel, but couldn't possibly call my daughter a *****!
Indy
Indriel
Serephina... but it rhymes with Selina, so that would be a bit tacky!
Violet
Thats about all I can think of at the moment!
Oh, and when I was little I thought I would call my daughter Thumbelina :D

D'arcy Doyle is an artist's name I think? Old Australian painter,of the kind of pictures you see on biscuits tins at Christmas.

We followed family tradition n named DS after DF's dad, Angelo and his middle name is Jayden.
We didn't really pick out any other boy names but for a girl we loved Isabella.
I also love Mattia, Daniella, Denae
I like Lachlan, but I dont like Lochie - we gave DS Lachlan as a middle name instead.
I love Hayley for a girl but our surname starts with "H" & it sounds funny
For girls we debated Eva, Tirra, Orla and Madeleine
For boys Malachi (always worried it would be mispronounced) and Micah.
We have Lily Rose and Jack William. The names we didn't use-
Leilani Rose, Allyra Jayne, Caela Rose, Danae Tayla
Caelum James, Kalen Dane, Fletcher James
We didn't end up using these names because hubby didn't like some of them and once we met our bubbas the names just didn't suit.

We had picked out for a girl Bailee, Olivia, Lily, or Charlotte and still hadn't settled on a boys name! Luckily she was a girl and became Charlotte Victoria!
Now we have both a boy and girls name picked already and we're not even trying for no 2 yet!!!

We only ever had one name picked out and didn't even look at boys names. We also liked the name Violet though.

We had Shenaya Imogen picked out for ods if he was a girl, we didn't have any other choices with him at all.
With yds he was going to be Charlise Alana if he was a girl and Kayen if he was a boy but he got Kyen instead.
I love Ruby, Scarlett, Lily, Violet, Lyric, Oceana for girls and only have one fave for a boy which we will use if we ever have another boy.
Df also loves Scarlett and Lyric but we will use Scarlett as a mn for a girl and although we both love Lyric we think it sounds a little harsh on a girl.
Df also loves Justice for a girl or a boy but i don't think we will be using it, i like it but don't love it lol.

K promise you won't laugh at me????????
I have always loved :
Danya Tasharne (pronounced Darn-ya Tash-arni) and for a little while I liked Taen Xanthi (pronounced Tay-en Zanthi)
Hey!! You promised not to laugh!! DP has hated these names since we first got together so there's no way I'll get to use them. What can I say? I like weird and unusual names :o

I loved Emily Kate, but my husbands Uncle and Aunt used the name Emily right before the birth of our first daughter.
Boys: Declan & Eden
Girls (still hoping to use one of these) Miranda & Sabrina

For boys we had Jack, William, Thomas, but are going with Cooper.
For girls we decided on Mackenzie Kate... maybe we will still use this is we have a girl down the track....

When I had DS I had a few names I wanted to call him which were Deacon, Ethan or Kai but DH didn't like any of those. We both liked Jared for his name so we chose that instead. DH left it up to me to name DD so I was lucky I was able to choose a girls name that I liked the best, it was a choice between Brooke or Brianna, as soon as I had her I thought to myself that she looked more like a Brianna than a Brooke and that's what I named her.

We loved Harriet from the get-go so DD never really had any other names picked out. Our next baby will be either Violet for a girl but we haven't narrowed down any boy names. We also chose DH's middle name for Harriet's middle name (which is also his mother's maiden name) and the next baby will have my maiden name for their middle name. Now all we have to do is fall pregnant again.:fingerscrossed:
