they are sooooo cute :cloud9:
fluffy and pretty :D
depends on what nappy you have as to how bulky they are (I was worried about this too, sounds shallow but i diddnt want DS to look like he had a fat bum!):o I use itti bitti's mostly and think they are wonderful! I also like pea pods

I use itti bittis too, and you can't really tell that it is cloth rather than a disposable looking at the size.
they are easy to use and very trim. and very cute!

How many will I need? I have around 30 for DS, but i dont think you need quite that many (they just get addictive LOL)
Is there different ones for night time? yep, there is the sandman, wild child and the zada night nappy that i know of. although i just use a sposie at night. I have one sandman, havnt tried it out yet though.
where can I buy them? there are lots of website, i think they are posted in the cloth nappy section, i dont think i can post them  Ebay is also another place, but be careful with what you buy.
Is there different ones for boys & Girls? As far as i know its only the pattern or colour of the nappy that determines the sex iykwim?

Will I need covers?
How many?
there are different styles of nappies. If you get an AIO (all in one) or AI2 (all in 2), you don't need a cover... if you get fitted nappies then you will need a cover. The sites that sell them have in the description of the nappies whether they require a cover or not.
I'm using mainly prefolds when my bub is born & am going to have 6 or 8 covers. If the cover doesn't have poo on it you can rotate between 2 covers so while one is on, another is airing IYKWIM.
I've also bought a few itti bittis to use as show off nappies for when bub is born too :D

I like the AIO's/AI2's best  they are so easy.
I also like the terry flats for newborns, as they are cheap and quick to dry

hi =]
we use cloth, but we use terry towling ones instead of the more 'recent' kind.
we bought 2 dozen [12$ a pack] and we are fine with that many IF we use covers, we just use 'pritchers' i think my friend calls them =s they are just plastic things, do yuu know what i mean? if yuu don't i'll try to remember =p
but when we first started using them we just used 2 towels instead, but then discovered the magic of covers!
we use them day and night, i got lazy and just put one on her before bed and left it on till morning.
i bought them from k-mart =]
