So do I! As we said goodbye he told me that he may be able to call later on, that being 1-2am or so our time... I dont really care what time it is - its just so good to know that he is safe and still missing me as much as I'm missing him...

Oh Ally that's fantastic!!! How much longer does he have over there before he gets to come home to you?

127 days - although now its 126 cause its technically Thursday :o (providing the deployment isn't extended)
I miss him heaps... This is his first deployment and the longest we've ever gone without talking. The other day when I heard that the first Australian soldier was killed in Iraq was a real 'hit-home' moment... I really understood what it meant for my hubby to be protecting Australia.
I am very proud of him, but I'm sick of sharing him with Australia - I just want him to myself!!!! We've been married 5 months and have spent 5 weeks together so far... Bleh!

Which force is he in? I've got an Airforce friend being deployed next week, but he's in IT so I don't think he'll be anywhere near the fighting....

He's in the navy, posted to HMAS Ballarat. I've met a few other wives of defence personell lately and so that has been brilliant. You know the old adage - birds of a feather flock together... There was also a fantastic poem that really summed up the life of a defence force wife in a thread called The Silent Ranks. (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=19097) Definitely worth viewing! (thanks Sharon  )

OH that's beautiful, and a little sad too. I almost ended up being a military wife/gf but thankfully that didn't happen. You guys are so brave, and so are your men!
Can't wait to see your title as 1 day to go!!
That'll be so exciting :smiliedance: can't imagine how you'll sleep that night
Yay for you & DH, Ally. :smiliedance: I know what it is like to get a phone call. Your heart skips & beat & it feels like you are talking for the first time. You just never get to talk long enough, hey? Hope you get to hear from him again soon :hugs:

The phone cut out after 5 minutes of convo, but I dont care... I got to hear his voice - and it was also long enough for him to tell me that he bought me a bellydancing costume!!! Doesn't take a genius to work out whats on his mind when he gets home!!!! :p
Aww thats great mate.:hugs:
A belly dancing costume! Have fun :p

Ally84- actually you don't need to tone up to do belly dancing, I am a amateur belly dancer, it is so fun, and most of the elaborate moves are not as hard as they seem you create they elusion that they are hard, give it a go you will have lots of fun.

That is great! I look forward to my DH calling when he is deployed so much too! One phone call no matter how short can make your day and you are left smiling for sometime after!
