Hey, my DB is Thai and my daughter is half Thai. Have any of you experienced racism in any form directed at your child who is bi racial?

I am half Thai(my mum is Thai, dad is english). I have never really had any form of racism directed towards me. But maybe it's because I don't really look THAT asian, most people don't really realise until I tell them.

People have made nasty comments about asians around me who don't know that I'm half asian and I get very offended by it, but have never had it directed at me.

Im part asian (chinese) however I don't really look it. People often make racial comments in front of me not realising but no one has ever directed a racial comment at me.

My DF is greek so DS is half greek and alot of people make racial comments about "stupid wogs" and stuff like that. No one has ever directed any racial comment at my DS although when my DF was 18 he got gang bashed by a group of Lebanese guys coz he was a "wog". He still has a scar on the back of his head from being hit with a steel post.

I get the "wog" thing too, it sometimes seems that there are "degrees" of rasicm...like it's ok to say wog or ding, but other derogatory comments are off limits. My SIL is aboriginal but doesn't really "look it" and the comments that are made in front of her (without people knowing her race) are horrendous. I hope baby Emerald gets none of that rubbish directed at her.

Hi there,
My two boys are bi-racial also. My husband is from the philippines. We have never encountered any racism towards us as a family or towards my kids. Because of the mix of asian and aussie, the kids really don't have a very asian look, so people arn't really aware as much I think.
