Whitening clothes

OK - well I was doing my washing today and silly me put something in the wash that has discoloured all my whites :shame: - they are now a light brown colour - some worse than others. just wondering what's going to be the best thing to do to get them clean again. I've heard white vinegar is good for removing stains but want to hear from someone who has actually used this successfully before going and putting it in with all my clothes iykwim. Or would I be best with just a napisan soak?

You can get this stuff from woolies especially for this dunno what its called... run in or something like that???? its something u use specifically if u put a colored clothing in with a white and then they mix....

Im sure napisan would work tho....

I have this trouble all the time as our laundry water comes from a pretty brown dam. Usually it settles out but sometimes it doesn't and I forget. I wash whites and there's screaming from the laundry when I get it out the machine!

I soak the whites in Napisan. Sometimes it might take a while. I then run them back through the washing machine with some stuff called "Bluue", or something similar to that, I get from the Supermarket. Be very careful with this stuff, DO NOT put it directly on your clothes!! Follow the directions closely and dilute some with water then put in with your final rinse in your wash.

Runaway is the name of the stuff and it's great too.

Or you could do a soak with some bleach.

Thanks for the replys - I don't think I'll go down the bleach track(but thanks Razzle) as one of the items is my brand new PJ's and they are bright blue and white striped(with cute little pink bunny's) and i don't want to ruin them... i'll try the napisan first then try the Runaway if that doesn't work.
