hi there!

would just like to ask you guys about what bottles you are using... i am currently using the tommee tippee bottles and i was using the avent bottles up until about 4 weeks ago...
we have a problem with the teats! they always get blocked...
it seems no matter what i do, it always gets blocked. the problem is, kyra has reflux and is on AR formula, so obviously it is too thick for her to suck it properly to get it unblocked... i have thought about getting a faster teat(shes using the 3months+) but the thing is. im worried she will get the milk too fast and make her reflux worse.
are there any bottles that anyone has found better than any other? i am willing to try anything... just need some advice!

thanks girls!
x

I haven't used AR formula, but my understanding is that you need different teats, it doesn't matter what brand you use. My SIL used avent bottles and had the variable flow teats, I'm pretty sure that's what she used for the AR formula she gave her dd. Have you got a baby shop nearby that you could actually ask someone there for help?

Pigeon teats (the wide ones) fit in avent bottles.... what a life saver this has been for me - I had a similar issue with avent teats, and stopped using them altogether until someone gave me this teat. My DD has the fastest flow of every teat.... otherwise she gets frustrated. She has done this since she was 3 months old, because when she was breasfeeding my milk would let down so fast and she'd just have to gulp.

Hope that tip helps.....!!

There is a new kind of bottle out that ONLY responds when bub sucks on it... No leaking or spraying..

I forget what it is called.

I think this belongs in the bottlefeeding category. :)

We use Pigeon teats on Avent bottles. The Y ones have the best sized holes for thicker formulas.

Yep i second this and the previous one on pigeon teats. Will save you getting new bottles as the wide neck pigeon teats will fit the avent bottles (this is what i use with my avent bottles) the Y cut teat works really well and my DD still uses them and she is 1, they are a variable flow so the milk only flows into her mouth when she sucks so won't get overwhelmed with milk spurting out.

good luck and hope you find something that works for you.
