7 month old waking heaps in the night randomly

Hey everyone, my DD is nearly 8 months old but from around 7 months she began waking heaps in the night, 1 - 4 times. Shes not hungry but shes a tummy sleeper and when i go in shes rolled over and giggling :hair: i only roll her back over n pop her dummy in, someties she will fall straight back to sleep other times (maybe once a night every 3 nights) it will take over an hr for her to go back to sleep.she used to be such a good sleeper, sleeping around 11 hrs straight through the night.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what i could do...

she is in a sleeping bag but has a dooner aswell (loves her dooner no chance i could take it away) and goes down with a lullaby cd with her dummy.

During the day she will sleep fine anywhere from 1 -3 hrs.

Im at a loss, at this age i wanna nip it in the butt and get it under control before it spirals outta control.

not teething????

my boys were shocking when cutting teeth then returned to normal once the ttoth was thru.

Also dont rule out a health issue

I had similar prob with my 9 month old when he turned 5 months and it turned out to be an ear problem!

He never use to wake up screaming either just unsettled and happy to see me when he woke up!

yeh i considered teething, although i couldnt feel anything.

last night she went down at 8, woke up at 1030 SCREAMING wouldnt be consoled, i pat her back, rocked her, lay with her she was so disorientated it really scared me, after 50mins she finally seemed to 'come to' it was like she wasnt really awake or didnt want to wake up.

ill keep my eye on her though, thanks for the info on ears, i might get them checked.

shes at the right age for teething. It bothers them even if they arent cutting.

The other day when I was in intensive care with my DS2 the nurse told me her motto was when ever your not sure and bubba is upset try panadol! 9/10 times it fixes the problem in half an hour.

I wish they could talk to us to let us know whats wrong!! The joys of being a parent and trying to figure it all out. :)

My ds has done this since he was about 4mths old. Nothing i did stopped it. He is still doing it at 17mths

Does he crawl yet? I've heard that they can sometimes wake lots before they hit a milestone.

I remember my bub got a bit better once he started crawling.

Try not to stress out too much, and make sure you keep his routine and sleep signals, he'll get there :)

yeah i agree about the milestones and non sleeping especially when they are one! I read 6 months they wake up trying to roll over, crawl and practice all their new moves like it all so overwhelming having new tricks to do.

quite runny really, but not at 3 in the morning. :no:

My 9mth old has been doing this since about 5-6 months, it was an ear infection and well seemed that even though she recovered we havent had a full night yet :(

Although now shes starting moving around she seems to be stretching the sleeps longer only by an hour but its improved :)

ooo she is very close to crawling! up on her knees etc, she does it when i put her down for a sleep, will play on her knees for awhile then lay down.

Jaxcoop - aaaagh dont tell me that hehe! oh well if it happens it happens i guess ( but oh my i hope it doesnt happen!)

we had a better night last night...only got me up twice and went back to sleep straight away both times

Louise - I don't know much about the milestone side of things but a few days before Isabelle's teeth cut through she was very unsettled at night. She woke up screaming in pain and she was flinching as though something was really hurting her. We had to give her panadol and co-sleep to settle her. If she keeps it up then get her checked by the doc just in case. Hope your nights start to improve soon :hugs:.
