Sorry for all the questions ive been posting, but the answers ive been receiving have all been sooo helpful i thought i would post again.

I've read descriptions of CM on many different websites now, but they all seem to define the different types of CM in single sentences. I have a couple of questions.

Number 1: Does your CM fall easily into one category?
Reason for asking: I'm noticing that i could probably define my creamy into about 10 different categories.

Number 2: Is EWCM always clear and look like egg white?
Reason for asking: I have some CM that is quite whitish and thick but i can stretch it up to 5 inches. i know i have had clear EWCM in the past but it could possible be years since i last paid attention to it.

Number 3: Are you classified as 'dry' after ovulation.
Reason for asking: from what i have been reading, you are supposed to have less CM after ovulation than u do before it. I am now cd32 and for the past week i have had more CM than i did earlier in my cycle and it is very thick and white.

thank you for your replies

Hey Trixie,

I've only been checking out my CM since we have started doing natural thaw cycles, IVF. So I'm by no means an expert.

But I can tell you that I rarely have EWCM, I've noticed it a couple of times over the years, but not recently and I am definately ovulating. Mine becomes almost watery around O.

My CM doesnt fall into the categories I've found when googling.

And I too experience lots of thick creamy white CM after ovulation.

So I think if you use the categories as a guide but dont rely on them fully. I've found OPK's much more effective than analysing my CM.

Hope this helps and Good luck. :goodvibes:

Now that I've started paying attention to mine, this is a good question!

Mine doesn't fit the categories either. I do have the clumpy white CM for about a week. I do have the EWCM and that can sometimes be clear and stretchy or have a tinge of white and still stretchy. BUT, my CM is different, some months I have lots, some months I don't. And I tend to get more CM when we BD alot IYKWIM but I think that's just hormones ;)

Same here, my CM is always a creamy colour and i have only ever noticed EWCM about once or twice. Its hard to tell at fertile time with all the BDing as baby juice has the same consistency as EWCM and i don't know whether its mine or his IYKWIM!!!! :o

Hi All,
I've been on and off OC for several years, stopped 3 weeks ago TTC and for 2/3 days after had very thick almost jelly like (sorry TMI) CM. This is something I have never had before, could this be a sign/symptom of PG

Number 1: Does your CM fall easily into one category?

Not always, but usually. I usually find when it's a mixture, it means that it's about to change to the next stage of CM iykwim.

Number 2: Is EWCM always clear and look like egg white?

I find mine is. It will go sort of creamy but stretchy, and I know that I'll ovulate about 2 days later, when I get the EWCM.

Number 3: Are you classified as 'dry' after ovulation.

Yes, but not straight away. I get the EWCM, then it goes creamy again, then dry, then a period.
