View Full Version : Terry flats - fold them before or after you slide them under bubs?
Hi - for those who use terry flats, do you fold them before or after you slide them under your baby?
We had intended to used TFs but the realities of wriggly newborn made it easier said than done and we didnt' know the virtues of MCNs at the time.
I'm thinking I might have a go at using a TF now that I'm a bit more confident with everything.

I always folded mine and had them ready to go.
I am not sure that I would be able to fold them once the baby was on top.
I always did a triangle with a thick strip along the middle, it didn't seem to push the legs to the side as much, and also there was more cloth between the legs.
good luck!

Always folded after they come out of the dryer. This way they're ready so anyone can change DD. If there's none folded they dig into the MCN stash which is only small & for going out only

Hey there, my son is 14months old, and i use a mix of mcns and terry flats (ive got the bight funky coloured ones), and i find them easy. I fold as soon as they come off the line and put a microfleece liner in aswell so i can just pull them out of the draw and put on bub. I think most folds are prob better done b4:yes:.

bejeebus.... no way I could fold a terry flat with someone lying on top of it! Always used to fold them before hand.... and until I found a giant red back in the nappy stacker I used to have them all folded in the stacker.... scariest day of my life, it was a freakin whopper and if the nappy had not become a tiny bit unfolded (folding nazi here) in transit (took whole stacker to Mum & Dads) I would have put it straight on her and not have known.... ***shudders***
