We love Where Is The Green Sheep here.

Also there's a whole lot of books by Tracey Moroney called "The book of _____" there's happy, sad, jealous, kind, angry, love and a couple more, they are brilliant

There's a whole series of "That's not my..." books available. You can get "That's not my bunny", That's not my Doll", That's not my Teddy", etc. They're hard board books, a great size for little hands and have touchy feely bits. I've bought so many for gifts.

There's also the Very hungry Caterpillar, the beatrix potters, The wombats' diary (very funny), anything by Mem Fox and the Whose feet series - lots of different book - whose feet, tail, nose, family, etc. Lift the flap book - guess which animal. You can get them at ABC stores.

We love the Ian Whybrow books and also Jez Albrough look out for ones with toddler tough pages (they are a bit thicker than regular pages but not like board books)
the very hungry catterpillar, mem fox, Andrew daddo (good night me is really cute), DD is into animals at the moment so anything with animals is great (spot etc),
the post office also often has packs of books for around $10 we love the Pamela Allen ones (and they are a 4 pack for $10 cant go wrong)
look at your local book shop there are heaps of options.

Best advice when looking for books is look for not tooo many words, rhymes are great, simple pictures in bright colours, not tooo much on one page (Alison lester is one for very full pages) If you get the word, number, alphabet books go for less is more one or two on each page is much better than very cluttered ones.

Good luck with your selections It is sooo hard you should see DD's little library :yelclap:

(oh and just to let you know I am a librarian so the above info comes from that POV)

Where is the Green Sheep? Is a great choice.

We have a book called 'Duck and Goose' which is great, or for a present the Walker book (plus DVD) called 'Hooray for Fish' is a GREAT choice.

Its fun and colourful with some very interesting kinds of fish. :p

I second The Very hungry Caterpillar.

I have got to admit, I didn't like the 'When I'm feeling Loved' book.
It was very sweet on the cover and had some cute pictures but I didn't enjoy it and neither did the kids.
Cute as it was.. The book as a whole didn't do it for me. The psych bit at the back annoyed me.
