Can someone tell me how to ice a cake?I mean I don't want to just spread it all over the cake, but only on the outer sides, and thickly. Is it done with a cone?Where can I buy one?

I just use a palette or flat bladed knife and I use buttercream. Just spread a thin layer on first to settle the crumbs down, pop in the fridge until set and then spread another thicker layer on.

Thank you Bluey.
Has anyone used those decorating icing easy squeezes? Are they good?
You can buy disposable pipingbags in the gladwrap section of the supermarket.
Or you can make one out of baking paper.
Just look online for the how to.
