Now that we are all back into regular posting again i figured we should have a brand new fresh thread for August!

Hi all, it’s been a looooong time between posts. As I’m sure you can appreciate, it’s really difficult to find time to read thru all the posts and respond to all of them but I wanted to jump on and say hi and let you all know that I miss chatting here.
The twins are doing well, growing really fast and keeping me really busy! They feed every 3 hours, morning and night, and don’t sleep more than about 45mins at a time 3 times a day so there doesn’t leave much time for anything else – like running a house, etc. That said, I am very happy and loving my mothering multiples experience.
DH is still working 14hr days, 6 days a week, sometimes 7 days and that’s really tough. Tough on our relationship and tough on me as I often feel like a single parent and can only rely on my parents for so much. His parents are keen to help, but at the risk of sounding like an ingrate, they’re not very useful!
I was giving them a formula feed around 10pm and for about 2 weeks they were sleeping for 4-5 hours after that, then for the past 2 weeks it’s made no difference but it’s given me a chance to stock up on expressed breast milk and so I’ve been giving them bottles of that to see if it’s the volume of milk that’s keeping them full rather than the actual formula. So far I’ve had mixed results but we’ll see…
I’m really sorry that I haven’t kept up with you all and what’s been happening in your lives – please understand that I do care and I try to do the Facebook thing but everytime I get on the computer someone wants me and don’t get around to everyone.
Hails – so sorry to hear about your Nan. Even though she’d had a long life, it’s still sad to have to say goodbye and I hope that having such a beautiful baby in Ryder is helping you to get thru this difficult time. I’m sending you much love and healing energy.
CK – Same energy coming your way honey; that’s pretty awful and I hope you’re doing okay. Ugh, the tag team. The twins do it every few days, most of the time they stay on the same schedule and then for no apparent reason they split. It’s not nice and I feel your pain! Here’s hoping it doesn’t last and that you get some much needed rest.
QTB and Bex – on a happier note, congratulations! That’s wonderful to hear. Family gatherings are going to be a lot of fun for you two with all these babies and how great for your little ones to have cousins so close in age to them.
Reneem – I am jealous but also very happy for you! Good boy Lawson, keep it up little man. Hope you, your boys and your gorgeous girls are happy and well.
Kristy – poor little Noah; you have really been thru the wringer haven’t you? I know how scary bronchiolitis is and the fact that Noah’s been on the nebuliser means it’s been pretty serious. I hope that he’s turned the corner now and is well on the road to recovery. Giggles are the best, they melt your heart J
Katkyle – Thomas looks like he’s a very happy and healthy little man, you’re obviously doing all the right things. Have you tried the Tomee Tipee bottles that are especially designed for breastfed babies. It sounds like you may have sorted it out now anyway, but if you find he’s not liking the bottles you have, my babies love these TT ones and you can see the difference in the design. Have a fab time at the wedding.
Ang – we have verticals too and I hate them. Unfortunately we are renting so there’s not much we can do but I’d get rid of them if I could. Hope your next attempt at curtain shopping is more successful! I agree on the good baking weather only I am so time poor that we are restricted to cutting up the roll of cookie dough! No complaints from Freya though ;)
Hugs – good for you for making such a decision. If it’s affecting your family in that way then you’re definitely doing the right thing. We will of course miss you but maybe you could pop in every now and then from someone else’s connection and let us know how you’re doing. Giving up internet I could probably do, but TV? Hmmm, maybe not so easy!
Lilmrsc – that’s awful news about your FIL; I hope you’re all coping okay and that Charli is feeling better too. Big love.
MissusS – good luck with the weaning, hasn’t that gone quickly!? Rylan and Astrid are both big fist suckers. I can’t turn the cuffs over on their bonds suits anymore as it stops them being able to get to their hands at night but then their little hands get so cold!
Liddy – those photos are just gorgeous and Jade is really a beautiful little girl. You sound really happy and content and it shows on your daughter’s face ;)
NZmel – I love that bumper sticker; words to live by. Good luck with the in-laws, I am sure it will be great and if not then at least you know they will be going home eventually!
Bex – there are definitely a lot of theories for conceiving a girl, I’m afraid I don’t know anyone who’s successfully used any but there’s no harm in trying! Definitely talk to DH and don’t go the snip if you’re not 100%. My DH had his done after his first 2 kids were born (w/ his ex-wife), never imagining that 15 years later he’d be starting a whole new family. IVF is a wonderful thing but you don’t want to do it unless you have to! And just quetly, I agree, 4 is a much nicer number than 3. I am not throwing out any baby stuff just yet! Hope your bank troubles are quickly sorted.
Will&Evie – glad to hear that the growth spurt has slowed, I think they’re just as exhausting for us mums as they are for the babies. Unfortunately they come and go for a long time. I remember with Freya that she’d finish one and I’d get a brief reprieve before another would start. There are some good sites about breastfeeding and boosting your supply if you’re interested. The sleep deprivation I can’t help with but I can commiserate!
Tgo – big hugs to you and to little Nate. It sounds like you’re having a really tough time of it but handling it too so good on you. Hope things improve for you soon.
MelC – gorgeous avatar. Well done for perservering with bf; it’s not easy and I admire your determination. It was lovely to read that you are settling into motherhood a bit more now and enjoying it so much. Something about that post was just so ‘warm and fuzzy’ and I’m glad for you J
SSU – I agree, the time has gone way too fast. I hope you and your tribe are all hooking along nicely.
Please, please don’t take it personally if I have forgotten you! It may be a while before another mammoth post so forgive me if I’ve left you out and know that it’s not deliberate. I hope that our thread doesn’t peter out and die b/c it would be a real shame.

Hi Girls,
I've been MIA at the moment, have posted in the bottlefeeding section cause I got majorly burnt in there and am trying to stick up for others, and also in the depression section as I have been diagnosed with depression and am on the high priority list, I too feel a little bit as if everyone is judging me....
Anyway my head is all over the place at the moment, trying to do Uni work I think if it wasn't for Uni I wouldn't have the internet either, things are extremelly tough here all round, financially, my well being and just things in general.
I'm sorry for no personals as I having a lot of trouble concentrating at the moment.
Evie is being her usual self nothing too much has happened, still teething no teeth, sleeping through the night, trying to sit up, not crawling yet so she's pretty average which is what I keep being told by everyone so I guess she's left with a life of being average ah well!
Hails - Just quickly I hope you got my message on FB sweety and I hope everything went as well as could be yesterday and that Ryder was a great little boy on the way up.
Anyway must be off will try to jump in her later!
Ashlyn - i agree with the above, your a champ for breastfeeding your beautiful twinnies, it is so exhausting!
Jess - :hugs: i had pnd with brayds, so i know what your going through, if you ever need to chat im only a pm away!
Liddy - isnt it great when they settle into a good routine! Your a fantastic mummy and jade is a very lucky lil girl! :D
i went and saw my new nephew last night, hes just devine! my poor sister has been through hell, and her blood pressure is still really high, she just moved out of intensive care yesterday afternoon!

Morning all,
Sorry I haven't posted in this thread for some time. I'm guilty of eavesdropping in on you all though as I love hearing about everyone's adventures with their little bubs... They're all growing up so fast now huh? Seems like yesterday we were all complaining about sore backs, strange rashes and bellies that knocked over small children passing by :laughing:...
I too feel a bit like my posts are not as "addressed" as others may be, but it doesn't really bother me.. I think we all have our small groups within groups at times and that's o.k... Some people relate a little better with others, I don't take it personally... That said, I'm glad that this thread is back up & running strong, it's certainly been a bit quite lately..
I'm not going to do the big list of personals today, but believe me, I do enjoy reading along and I'm really glad, that on the whole, everyone is doing well with their little people!
Big :hugs: to those doing it tough though... I can relate to some depression issues, to some sleep deprivation issues, to some relationship issues - I think we all can at some stage.
As for little Lachie.... He's doing pretty well. He's had a nasty head/chest cold for the last week though which has made sleep for me non existent!! I'm sooooo tired! Hubby gets home from his 3 week stint at work on Tuesday & I've been begging him on the phone to allow me just a couple of hours snoozy time as soon as he gets here :yes:... Other than that, he seems to be putting on weight (now appox 6.5kg) - not big, but not small... He loves to smile & gives me a few giggles which is great.. Still hates tummy time with a passion & therefore - no rolling for that little black duck! It worries me a little, but from memory, Riley never liked his tummy time either and ended up crawling at the normal time etc - so probably nothing really major to worry about huh...
Well... just thought I'd jump on while I had a minute to post. I think I can hear Lach's talking to his mobile in his cot - so that signals the end of another "small" nap for him I guess... oh well.

hi girls, your little ones are around the same age as my dd, she is almost 14 weeks just need some advice, she has 4 40min sleeps durinh the day, and i cant seem to get her to feed every 3-4 hours shes hungry before then, least i think she is she sucks her hand and wiggles and talks alot, she is breast fed, need sum help getting her into a routine of sum sort, she sleeps well at night, goes down at 6.30 wakes at 10pm and 3am for a feed, please any advice will do, sorry to crash your thread xx renee

Renee, Hi! dont feel like your thread crashing! we love new people! :D about your sleep issues, is she feeding well when she feeds? my advice would be, change her bum, give her a really good feed, wrap her tightly, pop her into her cot/bassinette (put dummy in if she has one) and rock the cot/bassinette and say shhhhhhhhhhh over and over starting loudly and geting softer as she relaxes. when she stops cry/relaxes/gets into a state of 'almost but not quite asleep' walk out of the room, she should go to sleep and this will teach her to self settle, so your rocking and shhhh'ing will get shorter each time til you get to the point you can just pop her in bed and walk away. if she wakes before she has been asleep 2hrs dont pick her up, just rock/shhhh again and she should drift off. as it sounds like shes waking at the end of each sleep cycle and cant self settle herself back to sleep.
i hope the above works for you! my first ds was a cat napper, but since working postnatally with babies iv learnt the above tricks and Harlan, my 13wk old is a dreammmm baby, sleeping 2-3hrs at a time and self settling!

newmumagain - Yeah I wouldn't stress about the tummy time.........he'll get used to it eventually. You must be hanging out for your DH to get home, 3 weeks is a long time.
Liddy - Wow clocking up the frequent flyer points aren't you.........that's exciting. Good luck getting into the Midwifery course. A friend of mine who is a single mum graduated from hers last year. When she was a student I had her present at Gemma's birth to help her with her studies............and to help me, lol.
jessrabbit - Evie sounds like she is doing great sleeping throughout the night and trying to sit up..........don't listen to anyone saying she's 'average'. Gosh I hate it when people try to make competitions out of milestones. I used to get so fired up about the comments on here about BF vs FF..........but then I decided it really isn't worth it & you shouldn't have to justify your parenting decisions to anyone else. How is your Mum doing these days?
Ashlyn - Well done on the mammoth post. Again I don't feel we should be apologising for missing out some people in our posts...............we're all busy parents and I think BubHubbing really is a bit of a luxury, I know for me its just a bit of 'me time.' Again you are doing an awesome job with the twins..........particularly with your DH working those hours! Make sure to post some piccy's of the twins when you can :D
I was a bit sad to read so many posts in the other threads about people feeling judged/insulted by some of the comments explaining why they've been MIA & chatting elsewhere. This thread used to be so supportive. I know I don't always read all the posts thoroughly...........but really I missed it :confused: If anyone has felt insulted by something I've posted then please let me know as I always try to make clear that my opinion is just mine and that its not my business to make parenting choices for other people's children.
Max loves trying to stand up, his legs are really strong...........he's so cute when he does it, he does his trademark 'big open mouth smile' :D so cute! Here's a piccy of his trademark smile:

they all hate being wrapped at first, but they get used to it, it helps them feel secure and not wake due to flinging their arms out lol

yep she had PE, it was very advanced and almost at eclampsia though, they induced her, then her blood pressure skyrocketed, they rushed her in for a c-sec, 2 failed epidurals and they ended up knocking her out. poor thing has been thru the works :( but shes getting better slowly!

Long time me being MIA!! Sorry about that, it's going to take a few days to catch up but I will get back into the routine of saying hi!!!
I just wanted to comment to MissusS:
Lachlan is also my third child with Lactose intolerance too!! He only put on 200g for the month so I was told to supplement him a bottle a day to see if he puts on a bit of weight. I gave him S26Gold but he brought that straight back up big time. I'm got him on S26 Anti Reflux and he seems to be keeping that down beautifully. I only give him about 120mL at his last night feed around 7.30pm after Bfeeding first. He takes from bottle to me just perfectly and the S26 AR doesn't seem to set him off at all so I'm not going to swap to Lactose free just yet. He gained 400g in a week!! After only giving him that one little bottle of 100-120mL, amazing!! I'm still 100% bf other than that and YES, I have a fist sucker as well!! LOL He does take a dummy as well but he quite often spits that out to put his fist in now!! LOL I can't believe Max is getting so big!! Lachlan doesn't like standing at all, nor does he like being on his tummy but slowly I'm getting him to spend more time on his tummy which is great.
Anyway, he's crying out for a feed right now but I just wanted to share what I"m going through regarding the bottle feeding etc.

Noah is 4months tomorrow YAY he is having his needles on Wednesday hope he goes ok.. I think he is a little mixed up with the time of day he will quite happily have a bottle at 4pm and sleep until 4am for a bottle not so good for mum when Noah wants to play!
Ashlyn - Great to hear the twins are doing well, I know how you feel with your DH working so much my DH has been working the same hours and it does take it’s toll every now and then.. Yeah was pretty scary with Noah being so sick but now he is back to his usual self a little rattly when the temp is very low in the morning but other then that he is his happy self
Jess - hugs to you huni I’m so sorry to hear your having a hard time, I hope you are getting the help you need with your depression, if you ever want to talk, so good to hear Evie is doing really well
Liddy - Sounds like Jade is just a little dream, so good she is in a great routine with her sleeping

noahsmum - wow four months already! that means some of our other april bubs are well and truely 4 months already! how scary!! Harlan was just 3 months yesterday lol
he goes in for his birth hep b tomorrow :( (im a selective/delay vaxxer) so he will get his birth one tomorrow, then in 2 months time he will get his 2month needles then 2 months after that is 4 month ones etc... but anyway, im feeling bad it will be his first ever needle :(

aww QTB - :hugs: Be brave Mummy!
Millie is 4 months this coming Friday. ATM she is sitting with her Daddy holding her bum - the rest she is doing solo. I think she's getting a little tired of not being able to play trains with Liam and is keen to get moving :laughing:
On the health front, both kiddies have conjunctivitis. ewww. Breastmilk in the eyes should sort it soon :D
Liams kindy is changing to catered meals from tomorrow - no more running around trying to pack the "perfect" lunch. Hurray!
DP wants to quit work due to medical issues (he would get a disability pension due to his illnesses). I don't know - I like him working and if he quits, I will have to go to work sometime I guess. My thoughts about it are all over the place. QTB, are you still applying for uni next year? I dunno if I am now, I'm too scared to leave the kids :o

Brayden was a hellll baby, and by 3 months i was sooooo ready to go back to work and get away from him (but i didnt til he was 11months!), which is why i thought i would be ready to leave harlan and go to uni next year, but now im just sooo loving Harlan and really enjoying him, i dont know if ill ever be able to leave him! lol i guess thats the bonus of not having pnd this time, i can enjoy him without the illness getting in the way. so yeah i dont think i will be, dh and i are talking about ttc #3 :eek: and then me going to uni after that bub... but iv started taking on Doula work for january now, so i def wont be going to uni. i still reallllly want to, but just putting it on hold for either a year, or til after #3 (still talking about it!) lol

Hi again everyone. Sorry - been away and just very busy with my small tribe of fluffy pink girlies!!
I'm so slack with personal I know, sorry guys I'm just lazy - and I'll try to be better in the future! (I hope). I find it so hard to remember everything that's going on and feel a little swamped every time I try. (excuses excuses excuses ........)
And woudn't you know it. I now have to fly off and get 2 girls dressed and feed so we can find a supermarket that has a trolley that takes a toddler and a baby. Still not good at the shopping with three bit.
Ok - I'm so happy to see chatting again. I think it's great!!

Ladies, we have a tanty thrower! Feet flat on the floor, back arched and bright red face. Oh what a sight to behold! Pretty funny really :laughing:. That is Poppy's new trick for the weekend. That and blowing bubbles, resulting in drool all over her face.
I hope you all had a good weekend. Weekends are normally computer free time for the 'I' family so you will have to forgive me if you dont see me on then .
SSU - good to see you on again. Good luck with the shopping, we are going to be tackling it today, although I think it is alot easier with one!
QTB - I was so happy to hear your great test results. It must be such a relief. :hugs: for your poor sister. She is only 17 right? I hope her experience hasnt put her off having more babies is she wants them. Cute piccies of Harlan too.
CK - Millie sounds like she is going forward in leaps and bounds. Its so cute when they find a new trick like when they find they have legs that do something :)
Noahs mum - 4pm to 4am omg! Good luck with the needles. I am dreading the next ones. Are you taking Noah at 16 weeks are on the date of his birthday for that month iykwim? I am unsure if 4 mths means 16 weeks??
mmalt - good to hear from you. Sorry Lachlan is lactose intolerant though. Dont worry so much about tummy time, Poppy hates it (still) when I roll her over. Yesterday when I had her down for a sleep, I came back in and she had rolled over onto her tum and was happily looking around. I think they just have to realise it isnt that bad :yes:

Missus S - Max is such a cutie. I love the little play station he is in. By the looks of things the April mummies are getting back on track which is good news.
NMA - Glad to hear Lachie is feeling better. I bet you are looking forward to your DH getting home. Have a good time on your weekend away. It sounds like it will be very romantic! As I said to mmalt - Poppy hates tummy time too :yes:, last tiem I tried, she gave me a look like I will do it when I am good and ready thanks!

Hi Liddy - I hope you enjoyed your breakfast with your sister. Good to hear Jade is doing well. Im not looking forward to teething time. It looks quite painful for the poor bubs. Do you have bonjella for her gums?
Jess - Im with the other girls - if you need to chat... Have you thought about taking the term off from uni and taking it up again early next year? My dad is doing his bachelor in something (very slack) and it was doing his head in a bit so he has the rest of the year off. I think your are doing remarkably well, doing uni, being a new mum and running a house. Pat on the back for you hun!
Ashlyn - Wow on the super post! Glad to hear the twinnies are doing well. How is Astrid going with her hearing aid? The pic you posted a while back was very cute. Sorry your arent getting much time with your DH. I get stressed when DH works a big week and you do it with 3 kiddies!

Well I was going to get on yesterday and post that i'd spoken to soon, as the previous 2 nights Lawson had only slept from 7pm-4.00am (I shouldn't say only as that's a pretty good stretch) but last night he slept from 7pm-7.30am:smiliedance:. I was really suprised as Mackenzie didn't sleep through until she was 8 months old and she too was breastfed so I just presumed that he would be about the same. Ava was formula fed and slept through from about 5 weeks, so I thought the formula had something to do with it but apparently not.
QTB - Those pics of Harlan are so sweet!!! Wow talking about #3 already!! I'm so glad that you are enjoying your time with Harlan, it must have been so hard for you with pnd with Brayden.
Ang - :laughing: Poppy throwing tantrums already, she really is a little girl!!! Good luck with your shopping.
SSU - :wave: good to hear from you.
CK - Poor Liam and Millie. I remember having conjunctivitis when I was little and waking up and not being able to open my eyes, it was really scary. I hear breastmilk works a treat so good luck with that. What kind of work do you do (when you are working)? When does your DP want to finish work?
MissusS - I love Max's open mouth smile - adorable. Does he like being in his walker thingy? I bought one for Lawson when I was pregnant but I haven't tried him in it yet. Lawson too loves to try and stand up, he's been trying to climb over my shoulder pretty much since he was born.
Noahsmum - I feel your pain at having to wake up at 4am. I find it really hard to get back to sleep after the feed at that time, my body thinks it's had enough sleep and I know it hasn't. Good luck with your needles on Wednesday - oops I mean Noah's needles:laughing: I'm sure it effects mum's more than it does bubs sometimes.
Ashlyn - You are doing such a great job with your 3 little ones considering you are doing the most of it on your own. It must really suck that your DH has to do such long hours, but I suppose that's what happens when you have your own business. I've been checking out your pics on fb - I absolutely love the one where the twins are holding hands.
mmalt - I'm glad Lachlan is putting on weight and that the one bottle of formula is helping. How was your camping trip? I've checked out the pics on fb - they look great!!

newmumagain - I hope Lachie gets over his cold soon and I hope you get some much deserved sleep when your DH gets home. As someone else said don't worry too much about tummy time - I sure before too much longer he'll be rolling all over the place on his own.
Liddy - Wow you sure do have some travelling coming up!! Everything seems to be falling into place for you - study, travel etc. I'm really glad.
Jess - :hugs: to you. You really are a trooper!! I'm sorry that you're suffering with some depression and I hope that you find someone or something to help you through. Just know we are all here for you if you need us.
Hails - How was your Nan's funeral? I hope it truly was a beautiful celebration of her long life.

Just a quick one at the moment. I'm holding Ryder whilst he is trying to suck my forearm and trying to type at the sametime!!
His head is so big it keeps tipping him over.
The funeral on Friday went off without a hitch (although Ryder did need a bottle during the actual ceremony).
There was a lot of family there (why is it that you only ever catch up with family at funerals and weddings???).
Nana was a huge Sydney swans fan and as her casket was carried out they played the Sydney Swans theme song. It really lifted the ceremony and i'm sure Nana would have been standing up saluting as it played:yes:.
Over the weekend we had more family drop in. It was good to catch up. My dad and brothers are flying back to Townsville today. We probably won't see them again until November for my wedding.
Ryder almost rolled over yesterday. He has learnt to keep his arm out of the way and was really trying but then got distracted. (sounds a lot like his father, gets distracted easy).
He was eyeing himself off in the mirror this morning. He was not too sure who the other baby was but found the whole experience very amusing.
Gotta go for now, will hopefully pop back in for personals later on when DP gets home.
SSU - commmon enough excuses! :p we have to get our lil thread BIG again :D isnt it just impossible to find those trolleys with a baby seat and toddler seat! i have so much trouble finding one with just a baby seat! i usually now keep Harlan in the pram and bug in the trolley and push one pull the other lol

Noah is 4months old today! We started him on vegies last night sweet potatoe he loved it and he slept from 7pm to 6.30am was fantastic, mind you I kept waking to make sure he was ok

CK - I no how you feel about leaving your bubba, I decided to go back to work in December still trying to work out days etc just so we can save to have our next bubs but now I have decided that I want night fill work as we want to start trying for bubba number 2 at the end of the year.. I really hope work don’t want me to go back when they find out what I am doing
Angroc - Noah is 4months today (17weeks) I am taking him for his needles on Wednesday when it comes to needles I get them done on the day he was born IYKWIM
Reneem - I hardly ever go back to sleep after 4am which leaves me so tired for the rest of the day.. Lawson sounds like he is doing great with his sleeping.. Love your photo’s he is such a little spunk

We are heading to Sydney and then onto Canberra for the kids Christening in 2 weeks time...I cant wait, its the first time most of my family will meet Charlie and DH's family too.
Porr little Charlie is off for his needles tomorrow I am so not looking forward to them..it always makes me cry when my bubs cry LOL...I am such a softy...Caint wait to see how much he weighs though cause i think he has had a massive growth spurt since last time. Still in 000 but looking like he will be heading into 00 soon...little pigglet hehehe

Hi Girls & Bubbies!
Having a "blue" day today I'm afraid... It's my first wedding anniversary & no husband... I know he's home tomorrow, but unfortunately it's a reminder of his job & how it affects normal day to day things... I know that he's going to miss so much, like 1st birthdays, 1st steps, 1st words, 1st days at school etc...I shouldn't complain though because I also know that I'm very lucky to have hubby home for 3 weeks straight as well... I get lots of time to be with him and he cooks me wonderful meals every night & is very attentive to me & to Lachie... but anyway, today makes me a little sad I suppose ... :(...
Also feeling a little down on myself too at the moment - I think back to where I was just 12 months ago & how special and pretty I felt in my nice tight wedding dress etc etc & here I am now on my first anniversary, still 15 kilos overweight & hating it!!! I joined the gym again the other day but am already wondering where on earth I'm supposed to get the time to do that? Anyway - it's just more excuses from me I'm afraid.... I WILL DO IT!!! I know that once I go, I will keep going & everything will get better...I hope to be reporting to you all again very soon on how sore I am from my big workout sessions he he....

CK, QTB & Reneem - Thanks for the photos - your little boys are totally cute... they look like little men! My little boy is still very round in the face & therefore looks like a big "baby" still, makes it hard to see who he looks like, whereas, I'm sure you guys can tell exactly who those little men are going to take after!
MMALT - Sounds like our Lachie's are very similar! I do wish I could put him on his tummy more, but I'm not going to push it if he really hates it...
Well, that's about all that's stuck in my head for today... I"m still really tired & I think I'm now starting to get my dose of the cold that's been plaguing poor little Lachie this last week - I guess being cuddled up to a sick baby for ten days will do that for you!
Hope to chat again to you all soon - however, if I'm missing again for a while it's because my husband has come home & I've run away to search for a warm place to sleep :laughing:

Lol, and yes the tantys are still in the cute/funny phase. Im not looking forward to them being full blown toddler ones! Shopping went well thank goodness. Poppy likes being up high in the trolley and being able to look around. She always falls asleep which is a godsend! I think she is just waaayyy over tired today. She keeps fighting sleep (enter the tanty).

Liddy – It has been a rough trot but I keep fighting through it (I think that’s half of my problem) Oh thanks luv, Jade and Evie are so similar its so cute, I love looking at your photos of Jade too, they do brighten up your day. Yeah I’ve suffered for many years too just finally getting something done about it, was a bit of a taboo subject at home. Well I got home from my first appointment and I felt really blah after divulging everything and probably has something to do with the fact that I have a head cold too! Anyway it felt really good to talk to someone and I am going back in two weeks, in the meantime I have to get a referral from my GP to go see a psychiatrist because with my lupus it s a case of what came first the chicken or the egg (lupus or depression) so hopefully they will be able to help me there….
Evie is just wanting to be held by me today which is nice but I can’t do anything so I have just put her in her cot so I can get some me time and some lunch and I can hear her crying in the background but I think I’ll go put the dummy in and see how she goes I just need to have some debrief time….
Evie is still a dream baby though today she's been so clingy....but she has started to take out the dummy but pick it back up and put it straight in her mouth and also passing it from hand to hand lol so cute to watch oh and she now helps mummy guide her bottle in :laughing: We had her 4 mth appointment last week but ended up talking bout me, but she is 6.5kgs and in 00s cause of her length but we didnt measure her, that will b at our other appointment tomorrow!

Hi girls... I have been on and off all day in amongst Little Miss GrumpyPants (surely they wrote a book about it!). So I thought I would post first and then go back and read what I havent yet read in case she wakes up.
We are well. Lily was 6.2kg last week (13 weeks old) so she's a little chubba. I like to use the word "healthy" and I've tried to ban the word "fat". Don't want to be giving her a complex at this young age when there is nothing fat about her - she's just wonderfully healthy haha :)
For those that asked, Elliot usually sees us every weekend. I think it would be more frequent if we lived a bit closer, but an hours drive is exactly that and if you're going to drive that long you really want to be able to spend a few hours at least...
My Uncle died this morning :( So Mum and Dad have headed off to Sydney for the funeral. They tried to get to see him before he passed but they were too late. Poor Mum, I just feel so sorry for her because he had a minor stroke last weekend and she said then that she felt she should go but she didn't and now it's too late :( So for the next week I'll be living like a real single Mum on my own and looking after myself (how scary!)
Right... now to go back and finish reading...

myQTBoys - Oh that tuxedo is a classic!! Did you guys have a special occassion to take him to?? I'm on the hunt for a cute outfit for Max's christening now and love seeing outfits like that :D Your poor sister having to have a GA.............must have been pretty traumatic for her but at least she & bubs are OK now. I declined the birth Hep B for Max but am getting it for his 2 & 4 month jabs.........without catching up the birth one, is the birth one a different dose to the 2 & 4 month ones or are they just supposed to have 3 lots of it?
mmalt - Thanks so much for that info........that's great that he's now putting on weight and that you're able to combine bottlefeeding with BF'ing OK. I tried Max with a NUK dummy tonight and he did actually take it for a little while after spitting out other dummies.............so I may even try him with some NUK bottles as that was the brand that Gemma loved.

SSU - Hope your shopping with the 3 went OK.........we did it with our 2 yesterday but I had DH with me so it wasn't so bad.

reneem - That's great to hear that a BF bub is sleeping so well like that...........can he please tell Max how to do it, lol. Yes Max loves his activity centre, its not one that he can walk around in........its just stationery. I usually put him in there for a little bit straight after feed and I've found that this has helped his reflux a lot. Max got given that "Bottom" outfit too........its so cute :D I also bought him another Sooki Baby one which has sunglasses hanging out of a chest pocket.........not sure if you've seen that one as well.........its very groovy!

Well after all that I really should get in bed and get some sleep. Trouble is once the kids are all settled I like to have a bit of me time even if it means staying up later than I should. Max wasn't too bad last night.............woke at 1.30 and then 5.30. Fingers crossed he can start stretching it out a bit more now.

Just got home from needles and weight and height check :o...I officially have a little porker LOL...Charlie was great, didnt seemed fussed by the needles or oral vaccine at all...he wieghed in at a wopping 7 kg LOL and 64 cm long...not bad for 16 weeks of age...he is nearly as big as his sister and she is turning 3 in November :laughing:..they said he was on the 55 percentile line but just makes me realise how tiny Eloise actually is LOL !!!
Jess...I am so glad to hear things are finally picking up for you honey and you are getting the answers you are looking for :hugs:...not long tillx-mas now and we can have aproper catch up and massive girlie goss session :p.

Well, as for us, we went to choose a photo yesterday for Thomas's hands and feet moulding... there were some really cute ones, but they were so expensive! The sitting and one photo comes with the mouldings and i was so determined not to buy anything else, but my DH is a bit softy where it comes to his son, so we ended up buying an 8*10 for $60.00!!!!! Anyway, they are cute so never mind. am trying to take my own cute photos, so Thomas is being a bit of a guinea pig at the moment, but he's being very good about the whole thing. i even had him in the washing basket the other day, and he hardly complained at all!!! will post some of them soon!!
Three more days until my sister gets married! Am getting a spray tan and nails done tomorrow... then hair and makeup on friday, the ceremony starts at three, so when you are watching the opening ceremony of the games, think of me, standing in my heels (hate heels!!!) watching my little sister finally tie the know!! They have been together for about 16 years!!

Well 2 nights of vegies (sweet potatoe) so good Noah has slept through the last 2 nights YAY.. Last night was so cute I was feeding Noah saying “num num” and give him a spoon full Noah would smile after he ate it, it was so cute so were the raspberries he was blowing on DH he had vegies all over him to.. Oh Oh Noah started feeding himself on Sunday afternoon now we let him feed himself until he needs to be burped so cute
Kristi - I can’t wait for you to come to Sydney! YAY not long to go now… Charlie and Noah are similar in size (sort of) Noah is 8.5kgs (with clothes on) and 66cm

NMA - Sorry to hear DH wasn’t with you on your first anniversary, I hope you had a nice day with your boys though, I’m sure DH will make up for it when he gets home
Angroc - I hope Noah is a brave little solider with his needles tomorrow, well I have a friend coming over tomorrow I hope I have enough time for him to get them done
Jess - It will get easier over time talking it will feel like a weight lifted off your shoulders. Great to hear Evie is doing so well.. Noah is now in 00 and weighs 8.5kgs he is in proportion though he is a big bubba all over

Mel C – Oh isn’t Lily just devine, I love your photos on facebook and you look great too! I think they did write a book in the Little Miss Range …though I tried to find them at Target couldn’t get them :laughing: Oh hunni, she’s not fat she is definitely healthy! And so cute, our niece and nephews were big big bubbas lol but they are so beautiful and thin now lol!

Kristy (Noahs Mum) - We posted at the same time! Feeding himself that is so good and so advanced, Evie manages to hold her bottle for a couple of seconds and then it slips lol....we've stopped her food for now, she liked it and then the next 4 days she didn't want it, so we'll wait till 6 mths but so glad to hear Noah is liking his food! That is awesome! Oh he is a great size, looks like all the boys are going to be nice and tall and muscley maybe Evie can have a few bfs lol :laughing:
Well we got back from our Maternal Child Health Nurse Appointment and Evie is going great guns, 6.4kgs and 63.5 cms (though I think it was 64 but she didn't stretch her out too much cause Evie screamed lol :p) so she's on the 75% for height and 45% for weight not that I really follow those guidelines only really use them to know if she is wayyy underweight which she isn't :smiliedance:, Evie is advancing in some areas (she is starting to pass her dummy from left to right hand and guide her dummy and bottle in the mouth)! And she's still developing on her rolling which is great and laughing ah well all in good time! So I'm wrapt my little one is perfect and will always be to me regardless! As for me today I am feeling much better I think talking has helped me get some things off of my chest and I have started a dream diary and a journal so will try to keep that up, though didn't dream last night (night time flu and cold tablets knocking me out lol)

Hi Girls,
No personals from me today, am feeling very fuzzy after a really bad broken sleep last night. On Monday I fell asleep on my belly (which I never do) and woke up at 2am in agony. My right boob was soooo sore. Wouldnt you know it as well, Poppy decided to sleep through that night but I was up from 2am! Anyway last night, Poppy was up at 9.30, 12.30, 2.30 and the 5am! I am thinking I will try her on a bit of farex or mushed up veggies if she doesnt start getting into a better routine by the end of the week. Every time she wakes she feeds like a starving baby...
Will try and pop back on later for personals, if not I will definately be here tomorrow.

Bin MIA DH is on shift work 4 days on 4 of so we have decided no posting while he is at home cause when hes at work it's 12 hour shifts and we just sort of pass each other lol. He going onto night shift tonight so It means days of trying to keep 3 kids quiet. :laughing:Hahahahaha.
We got Charllette weighed she is almost 4 1/2 months. Ahe was 6.4 kg's and 60cm's long. Shes in abot the 60th percentile for weight and only the 25th percentile for weight. So she's a budda bub for her height lol.
On the Concieving a girl thing I had it work once for me I dunno if I would be lucky enough for it to work twice lol. We did the lot timing, position, no "O" ect.
Still haven talked to DH im scared he will just go with what I want and I would hate him to resent me or anything.
Ow and bank still stuffing around :banghead: wanted yet another letter from DH employer.

Bex - i had harlan weight and his height done today, hes the same as Charllette, 6.43kg & 60.7cm but hes only 3months old lol
Hahaha She was 6.43kgs to haha. Yer Charllette doesn even look that much either she is a petite looking bubba.
I was just reading about silent reflux and I am wondering if Charllette had it. She was a constant feeder but only took little bits and when i was up with her most the night she would be trying to feed but would pull of screaming all the time but would be looking straight for it again. She also only cat napped before waking up sceaming again. Now she doesn really do it anymore but she sicky burps anywhere from1 to many times after a feed and whenever she gets in the car.
lol thats bizzare! not very often you hear of 2 bubs being the exact same weight and height!! harlan is chubbing up slowly, but hes still pretty petite too, probably exactly the same as Charllette if they are the same weight and height lol have you got any pics of her? i posted some of harlan a page or 2 ago :D
No sorry don't have my camera cord here it's still in packing boxes which will be here on Monday. Yay no more living out of suit cases.
ahhh i hated living out of suitcases! esp with a lil bub! we had too for 6 weeks when we moved here from nz (brayds was 5.5mths old) it sucked!

Noah had his 4month needles today, he was all smiles for the doctor until he had his needles, he was a brave little man only cried once.. I can’t believe how happy Noah makes me, I can’t wait to start trying for another bubba… Noah is on night 4 of vegies and so far so good 3 nights of sleeping through

Jess - He will hold the bottle for quite awhile, I still can’t believe he fed himself I said to mum watch him he has had half a bottle burp him when he has 20mls left she turned around and he had finished the bottle… Noah loves his food glad he likes his vegies

Angroc - you poor thing, Noah use to feed like that until I started him on Farex. I started him on one teaspoon he had been having farex for a month of a night before I moved to vegies.. A bottle wasn’t enough for him he always seemed hungry and I had to stretch him to 4hrs because of his weight, he is so content now

Well I think Lily might have a UTI. I'm about to google it. Poor thing. This morning I was changing her nappy and she was all happy then she just started screaming like horrible scream and when I looked down the change mat was wet. And then after her bath tonight she screamed when I took her out and I was cuddling her and she wee'd. So I think it's hurting her? Anyway... lets see what we can do.

I love sleep!!! Little Georgie, along with my other two munchkins have slept thru for the past week!! I'd forgotten what it feels like to have sufficient sleep and wake on your own. I'm actually up now ON MY OWN before everyone else. Hence I'm here!!

Ok - so life is feeling good here. My Georgie is doing wonderfully. 4 month check up on the 21st and the wonderful needles on the 13th!! She is now rolling well from her back to her front (because she still hates being on her tummy) and is having big 210mls bottles. She is a chubby bubby (think it might be formula) compared to my other two.
Noahs Mummy - Glad to hear you are so happy! Another one soon???? You go girl!!

SSU, :smiliedance: for getting a sleep in. Isn't it funny how we start getting used to having little or no sleep? Evie's been pretty good lately, but for some reason decided she wanted a feed at 1am this morning. Have a feeling it was because she'd started to break out of the wrap and her little hands got cold (it was freeeeezing here last night.)
MelC, hope that Lily feels better soon. I also have a 'healthy' little girl. She's actually cruising along between the 75th and 90th percentile for weight, and only on the 50th for her height. She's been that way since birth, so I'm not bothered by it at all. I think her chubba cheeks are beautiful!!
NoahsMum, good luck with TTC soon. I was exactly the same after we had Will, but we ended up waiting for a little while.

Anyone else's little ones have a definite unsettled period every day? Evie absoolutely refuses to have a third sleep of an afternoon. No matter how tired she is, she'll only sleep for about 30 minutes max, then be up bellowing until after her bath. Of course by then she's over-tired and it takes ages for her to get to sleep. Will never did this, so I'm finding it very bizarre. It doesn't help that it's usually dinner time, which is Will's feral hour as well :hair:.
Max got given that "Bottom" outfit too........its so cute :D I also bought him another Sooki Baby one which has sunglasses hanging out of a chest pocket.........not sure if you've seen that one as well.........its very groovy!
Yes, Lawson has the sunglasses one too!! I love Sooki Baby, they have the cutest stuff.
Will&Evie - Yes, Lawson has his unsettled time usually from about 4-6pm. I think it has something to do with his sleep being cut short at around 2.30pm because I have to go and pick Mackenzie up from school and he doesn't really settle after that.
SSU - Lucky you having 3 sleeping beauty's!!! It's amazing what an uninterupted sleep can do for a mum.
MelC - Sorry to hear about you uncle:hugs:, how are you going on your own with Lily?? I hope poor little Lily doesn't have a UTI, I've never had one but i've heard they're quite painful.
Noahsmum - Brave little Noah. It's good that he's liking his veges and that he's sleeping better. And he's such a big boy now, holding his own bottle, very clever.

Noah slept right through again last night YAY DH woke him up this morning when I went to grab him he was soaked he had wet through right through his PJ’s, sheets and mattress protector were soaked so I bought the next size up nappies for during the night to see if that helps
Melc - I never thought I could love Noah the way I do, I often catch myself sitting there just starring at him it was such a hard road and he is finally here I just can’t get enough.. Poor Lily I hope she is ok
SSU - I can’t wait to have another one, Noah makes me so happy… We are going to try naturally for 6months and if nothing then back to IVF which is why we are going to start trying again soon… Ahhh the sleep!
Will&Evie - We weren’t going to start trying until next year but I thought we could try naturally for 6months and then if I’m still not pregnant then we will go back to IVF.. Noah use to do that around dinner time as well I normally prepare dinner around lunch time so I just have to cook it later on other wise it’s to hard to entertain Noah
Reneem - I can’t believe how much of a difference solids has made I look at him now and think a bottle sure wouldn’t be enough for him… He is so much more content and sleeping through the night what more could I ask

Well u gotta work out when u ovulate then have sex 3-5 days before that and not again till 2 days after u O. (girls are slower but live longer) Female Orgasm favours boys. (alkaline levals). Sex positions that are Shallow (once again the females live longer thing) sorry if TMI.

SSU - Lucky you! 3 sleeping ladies! How wonderful! Lily still isn't sleeping through the night so I don't know when I'll ever get a good night sleep. I tried to have a sleep when she had a nap today but she woke about half an hour later so I just pulled her into bed for a suckle and a little nap for a bit longer (naughty me, I know but it's the only way I get any sleep)...
W&E - Love you comment - only sleep for 30 mins max - HAHAHAHA thats every sleep in the day for Lily. How do I get her to sleep longer?
renee - Thanks for the hugs. Lily and I are going really well on our own. It's actually quite good to do things in my own time frame and have some alone time just me and Lily. I do miss the company though and am getting a bit lonely... but I just go out lots.

:crying: I miss sleep! Poppy was up every 2 hrs last night. I dont know why. She isnt feeding any more than normal during the day so I dont think she is having a growth spurt. I think it is more of a comfort feed during the night than anything. I tried giving her a dummy last night to see if she would settle down with that but you would think I tried to give her rotten meat they way she screamed! I introduced 1 teaspoon of farex yesterday morning which she absloutely loved, so I will try and give her some more before bed time tonight to see if that make a difference...:fingerscrossed:. Any ideas from you ladies would be appreciated...
On the bright side, Poppy has been miss chatterbox and happily blowing bubbles and getting spit all over her face. Its hilarous to watch and she thinks she is very clever!

melc - I agree with Liddy, let her work it out for a bit then go in and try and pat her. I normally give Poppy a bit of a cuddle so she knows its alright then put her down again give her a bit of a pat and she puts herself to sleep. Also :hugs:. I feel your pain on the sleeplesness.
W&E - Poppy has been doing the same thing, only having small sleeps during the day but I think because she is having bad sleeps during the night, she has slept for 2 hrs this morning and also had a huge sleep of 3hrs yesterday - ablsoutely unheard of!

Ok - girls eating lunch and Georgie is asleep. Had a small mental blank and put her to bed with the dummy in (I try not to do that as I don't want her needing it to get to sleep) - but never mind - hopefully one dummy sleeping session won't hurt!!
Boy it's hard to get time to yourself with 3 kids!! I'm not complaining - I love them to bits - but sometimes I just hunger for an hour of uninterrupted 'me time'. We decided not to use childcare (no offense or judgment at all implied here as there have been days I'd change my mind in a heartbeat!!) and with no family close I'm it 95% of the time. Today I'm just thinking how nice it would be to finish the housework without 'Help' that causes more mess!! Ok - over it now!
How is everyone. Angroc Sorry to hear you were up so much last night. My advice - take it easy on yourself today. Liddy Little Jade is very clever!! She looks so cute standing up at the table!! Melc It will make your life much easier in the future if Lily can self-settle - but how to achieve this??!! It's one of life's little miracles I think. I've been really careful with G because I had a bad experience with Liv (now 2). I've made sure I put her down awake from day one. But I think it's very dependent on their personalities. G is not a cuddly girl - she would rather talk to you than sit on you!! I think as Liddy said just keep going back into her room every few Noah'smum Good luck and have fun getting that brother or sister for Noah!! It took us 5 months of natural trying to get our second. Then the 3rd took us by surprise!! hehehe.
Hey - does anyone else's baby sing whale songs in the middle of the night! It's such a crack up. Georgie breaks out into loud eeeeooohhiiiiiissss when she wakes up - usually about 4.30am. Very funny - but not good for the sleeping family of the singing whale! This girl is going to be a talker for sure. She loves nothing better than when you look into her eyes and make baby sounds. She starts chatting back with that sparkle in her eye - think she'll be a great public speaker.
Oh - times up again. I hear sounds of alarm coming from the living room!!

Evie is getting so clever, she keeps picking things up off the floor (her dummies and toys and blankets) and will pass them from hand to hand and guide her dummy into her mouth, and like jade likes to stand on the coffee table, she's so close to rolling from back to her tummy but think she is lazy like me lol......
We had a look at a Fisher Price swing today as during the day the only way Evie has a nap is in my arms and it's just too hard but haven't got DP convinced on them and can't find the rainforest one!!! So I need to convince him because I can't always lie on the couch with her to have a sleep!

We have spent so much money at Babies Galore that they gave us a $250 voucher for a photography session with some really great local photographers! Booked for a couple of weeks so I will have some professional pics soon, yay!

Well I have one sick bubba who was up just about every hour last night and wont sleep or feed properly. Poor little mite can't breathe very well at all. And she is still refusing to have a bottle which makes it impossible on me. My boobs are hurting from trying to comfort her all the time and I just wish she'd have a bottle so that I know she's got some food in her tummy to help her sleep. God, I need sleep. I've put her in her basinette screaming again because I've just had enough. All night and all day crying and crying :( Hope she gets better soon.
MissusS - What did you do to get Max to take the bottle? Seems every time I put it in Lily's mouth I am making her more upset...

Mel, I feel for you honey. Evie doesn't seem to be sick, but she was up for most of the night last night (and two nights before that). I think I got up to put the dummy in about 20 times (seriously!). On top of that, I had Will crying for attention at 11pm and DP was on nightshift. I'm a walking zombie today.
Obviously the dummy has to go, but how???? I never had this problem. Will was always very good at holding his dummy in.
Hopefully Miss Lily will take to the bottle soon so you can get a rest. I've been so upset and tired that I've been tempted to switch to formula, even though I know it won't make a difference.

Morning ladies........sorry no personals yet but just wanted to reply to melaniec.........Ashlyn I haven't even checked out your photos yet!! Will try come on again later.
Max took the bottle OK a few times when he was around 6 weeks old and then he refused several times after that.........with DH trying so I'm not sure how persistent he was before he gave in. This week I thought I'd better get stuck into it as I'm back at work in less than 2 months now. We've got the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles. At first he was screaming and didn't want it but then I remembered I needed to use the next size teat which luckily I had already bought.........so make sure you are using the correct flow teat for their age. After a little persistence he finally latched on and sucked out of the bottle but it did take a bit of patience.........like 10 mins on and off of him trying it. He was quite messy at first but once he latched on to the bottle he was good with it and had a great drink. Try giving her a feed when she is hungry but not crying for it because there's no point if they are hysterical.
Having said that though.........the couple times he took the bottle OK this week was with EBM. After a big chat with our Doc on Thurs when he had his jabs...........we decided to start him on Soy Formula which I bought a tin of. Now the next battle is trying to get him to drink that :o He doesn't seem to like it and I can't blame him as it does smell a bit funny. The past 2 nights I've combined it with half EBM but still with no luck. So my battle & stress continues.
Will&Evie - My DH was out working all last night too and so while he's now sleeping I'm a walking zombie too, Max didn't have a very good night, but thank goodness Gem was pretty good and went off to sleep nice and easy for me. On top of that I really hurt my toe going down a big slippery dip with Gemma yesterday so I'm a walking zombie with a limp :o
Stuiped me keeps forgetting to take the pill so now AF has arrived early just great NOT! I guess we get to start trying earlier then expected.. As for the nappies I went and bought Woolies Select Brand 8-11kgs and no wetting through great nappies I must say, I’m event thinking of taking back all my huggies and swapping them over..
Bex - thanks, I also read up a little on conceiving a girl, now I just need to work out my cycle’s and ovulation!
Liddy - I just can’t get enough of him! His little smiling face makes up for waking me up at 6.30am blowing raspberries LOL not that I should complain after he slept through the night LOL.. Jade is such a cutie what a big girl standing holding on to the table…
Melc - I no how you feel I went through the same thing when Noah was learning to self settle it does get easier just listen to her cries, I learnt if he started to pause while crying he was tired and soon settled down and went to sleep if he cried and it got louder and louder I would go in burp him and give him his dummy and put him back down.. It took me a few days and he started to self settle
Angroc - Could she be getting a tooth? Good to hear Poppy liked her farex how did she go of a night? I have still been waking up to check on Noah but it is getting easier, I think he is sleeping through the night because he is more content with his meals through the day
SSU - Noah now wakes up blowing raspberries it’s so cute, that sounds so cute I would prefer to be woken by chattering then crying, it’s great she talks so much to herself lol
Jess - I am with you! I am really clucky as well I can’t wait to have another bubba… Aww sounds like Evie is a smart little cookie picking things up and standing up like a big girl… how are you?

MissusS - Bummer about the formula. Maybe that's Lily's problem... She seems to drink a bottle of EMB ok but doesnt like the formula. I've just tried to change her to the normal S26 gold (was on LF) but she doesn't seem to like that either...
Liddy - Your routine sounds awesome and sounds like Jadie is really settling into it well. We definately have to catch up soon. Maybe you could come down and you, me and Mel (mmalt) can get together?
Mardi - I feel for you on the no sleep front. Lily won't take a dummy at all and I guess I've stopped trying because then I might end up in the same boat. We try so hard to get them to take the dummy only to have a hard time trying to get it back off them again... haha silly mummys.
Jess - I know about feeling clucky. I so miss being pregnant. But it'll be a long time for me I think. Definately never ever going to be pregnant on my own again. Evie is just so gorgeous and every time I see that 'hello Clarise' picture on FB i crack up haha...
Ang - Maybe Poppy was feeling a bit under the weather? Or maybe just a growth spurt. I hope she's sleeping a bit better for you anyway... Lily acts like I'm trying to give her rotten meat every time I try and give her a dummy or a bottle. Just doesnt like the plastic feel...
Caz - Whale sounds sounds so cute :) And I don't know how you do it, all on your own with 3 littlies. My sister came over yesterday with her 2 kids and after they left I felt like I was cleaning up after a tornado haha. Toys everywhere, messy kitchen etc etc. It's easy to forget that our little munchkins will be making such a mess in no time!

Good to hear Lily had a good sleep for you, is her nose blocked? I used little fezz to clear out Noah's nose to help him breathe a little better.. $2,500 for a bottle of wine OMG i hope your mum enjoyed it.. I agree with your tip of the day!
yeah going to start trying after AF has gone, we are going to try naturally until april and then go back to IVF in May if we aren't pregnant by then.. I'm so excited..
Noah's rountine now is wake at 6.30am bottle and farex at 7am, bottle and fruit at 11am, bottle at 3pm, bottle and vegies at 7pm sleep until 6.30 the next morning.. He will have at least 2hrs sleep in between bottles as well

I’m okay getting there I have a second appointment this week with my counseller but think it will help again, just very tired and my body is still all over the shop! Well as for me.....(*TMI ahead*) DP and I were DTD and well we went unprotected, very slim chance of getting pregs even slimmer when I got my AF during it I nearly :barf: made me feel so sick and I broke down in tears (I still don't know why I did that but anyway) so I have AF a week and half early, I really can't predict my cycles at the moment and its making me feel so yuck!
Still trying to convince DP for number 2 already......I come from a family where there is 17 mths between me and my brother and DP is 4 years there is no way I am waiting 4 years :eek: so I'm hoping maybe trying at the end of December I've given up on when we are getting engaged so I want number two lol........I think I have some big convincing to do! :detective:
Evie is still great and a fantastic little girl just enjoying everything so not much to report there!
Jess - yeah I know that’s the only plus side of AF! Good to hear all is going well, each session will get easier and you will start to feel better. I know every time I went I slowly felt so good she was the first counsellor who really helped me.. We are going to try for a girl this time I have read up about what to do so starting as soon as AF finishes up until 3 days before ovulation
BG - Poor Lexie hope she is sleeping heaps for you, make sure you get plenty of rest

everything is going nicely here, Brayden is slowly improving, thank goodness! I was so ready to give him away... hes been soo sooo jealous and doing stupid things like jumping on harlans head, picking harlan up and dropping him... but the last few days brayds has been really good, we have been trying to smother him in attention which seems to have done the trick!

Wow - can't believe a few of the April mummies are thinking of going again already!! Wahoo for you all. Can't wait to start hearing news!! No more for me - thats a certainty!! Our sex life is pretty dismal anyway - the kids get up to early and I'm tired at night! (Sorry tmi). Funny though - having 3 kids is the perfect contraception for me as there is simply no time or energy for hanky panky!
Sorry to hear there are a few sick babies around. Doesn't it make life sucky. There is nothing worse than knowing your child is ill. Hope they are all fighting fit again soon.
Ahhhhh life feels so much better now Georgie is regularly sleeping thru. Need to make the most of it before the teething starts. I'm getting the best sleep I've had since little miss 2 was born. Sleep is brilliant stuff - just love it!
QTB - glad to hearing the boys are doing well. Will you be trying for a girl or happy either way?

Sorry I havent been around much again. My little angel has well and truely disappeared. She is keeping my on my toes 24/7. She has decided to no longer sleep through, no longer have day naps and the beautiful swing we bought her is no longer good enough :hair:. I am a walking zombie at the moment. Plus we have the christening this weekend with 80 guests and I just want to crawl up in bed and sleep for a few days. Haha. Thankyou for listening to my vent.

RYDER CAN ROLL!!!!:yelclap::smiliedance:
It's been going on for nearlly a week now. As soon as you put him down on his back he flips himself straight over. Both DP and I got to witness his first roll as we were eating dinner when It happened.:D
He had been seriously trying for a couple of days and I was getting it all on my video camera but of course (and to be expected) i didn't get to film the first roll:hissy:. He planned it that way - I bet you!!
Ryder no longer sleeps at all during the day. He is drinking 240ml each bottle, 4 scoops of formula atleast 5 times a day. I think he will be on solids very soon. He is so ready for it, milk just isn't enough for my big boy anymore.
Ryder loves his Jolly Jumper. He is really learning how to use his legs. Loves jumping up and down whilst either DP or I are on the computer.
His in 00 now and I cried while I put away his other clothes. Most of my favourite outfits had to be put away. It made reality set in that my baby boy isn't going to be a baby for much longer.:no:
DP and I are definetly going to start trying for another child after our November wedding. We are hoping that the gap will be approx 18 months - 2 years.
I have a job interview today for a Console Operator at a local Petrol Station. Just casual approx 8 - 12 hours a week.
I'm sorry for no personals today, Ryder is crying cause he has flipped himself over and is now wedged up against the wall and can't flip back:laughing:

Wow!! The April "chat" bug has well & truly bitten again it seems.... great to see!!
Just a quick one from me.. Lachie is stirring from his little nap & the bot bot is in the warmer :laughing:
Well... Lachie's little cold is clearing & he now sleeps alot better during the night again.. just getting up every so often to give him a pat & maybe put the dummy in, but basically, he's sleeping through till 6.00am - can't complain! Unfortunately though, he seems to have a bit of a tummy bug now too & has been doing runny poos for the last 4 - 5 days, poor baby... I just got back from the doctors & I have to take a "sample" in for testing... eeewww.. Anyway, hopefully it will come back with nothing ugly & this too will pass.. He's now even got his first nappy rash as a result of all the extra action in the pants :no:
So exciting to hear of all the TTC's in here! I know that DH would love me to say "lets give it a go"... it's a sore point between us though as he's so keen to have another & I'm sooooo not! I love having a little baby in the house & I'm much more maternal this time around, but I don't think I can take 2 little ones when I'm home alone for 6 months of the year - I just don't think he really gets that... oh well.. we'll see ....
Better run... will try get back on later for some personals, but everyone seems to be doing really well! Sorry for all those that are so sleep deprived at the moment - I really know how your feeling as Lach's went for 2 weeks with only an hour max & I had no hubby at home, so yep, I can sympathize with you all - I hope it gets better soon.. :hugs:

ReneeM - I love Lawson's outfit!! MissusS was saying that she has them for Max as well!! very cute!! We have the same bouncy too!! cool cool! Our camping trip was great thanks!! Lovely warm weather, spent everyday down the beach which was lovely!!
Angroc - Oh, I'm hearing you on the tummy time issues!! Lachlan really doesn't like it mind you I've had him at the Chiropractor for nearly 2 weeks now and he's now arching his back much better so I'm getting about 4-5 mins tummy time now instead of 30seconds!! My Chiro said not to be worried about it though, it will come. He has good neck control, that's all that matters.
Noah's Mum - Hey there Kristy, Noah sounds like he's doing so well!! Man, I'm so holding out on the solids, can't be bothered with that just yet!! LOL He's just growing nicely isn't he!! You're doing so well. You never know by the way, you may just fall naturally!! Don't rule it out!
Eloise&Charli's mum - Hey Kristy, you must be looking forward to going to Sydney so much! You lucky thing you! How exciting!! Eloise and Charli are just so cute especially when they are together playing like in all of your photos!! just adorable!

As for my little man: He is just doing great. He is still having 120mL in the evening of formula just to help put on weight but there has been nights that he hasn't had any. I'm still bf'ding well and think I'll go for much longer than first thought. It's just too convenient! He is now 65cm long and weighs 5.6kg so he's getting there!! He's just a long skinny boy, well not too skinny but definately not chubby!! his little legs are getting a bit chubbier though. He is going to bed between 7-8.30ish, I put him to bed while he is awake and he just nods off so that's good and then he is awake anytime from 12-2 for a feed, sometimes then again at 4 and then awake and up between 6 and 7! So bit tiring but feeds are only taking about 15 mins of the night time!! I've thought about giving him formula at the 12-2 feed but you know I can't be bothered warming the bottle! how lazy hey!! LOL He is playing with his toys much more now, laughs all the time, loves watching any type of sport on tv, glad the olympics are on, rolls to his side but not over and like I said, he doesn't love tummy time but he's getting there. I've got him on 2 sessions per week with the Chiro for the reflux and just general health and it's definately helping!!
So, that's me anyway!! Loving all of it, forgotten already how hard it was in the first couple of months, goes so fast! I'm going to be leaving him for the first time next Friday night! I've got a charity thing to attend so I'm a bit scared about that but I"ll have a champas and get over it I'm sure!! :(

Sorry no time for personals but have to ask a question. I managed to get Max to drink about 30mls of Soy Formula last night.........didn't make any difference to his sleep :laughing:............but today when he did poos there was quite a bit of mucuosy blood through it. Has anyone else ever experienced this?? He's never had it before with breastmilk and he seemed OK otherwise.
I've made an appointment with our Doctor for Thursday and won't give him anymore in the meantime but just wondered if anyone else's bub had experienced the same :confused:
Sorry MissusS I can't answer your question and no I've never heard of it before either. Google it and see if anything comes up. I hope that it's just something minor, I"m sure it is.

Lily had some blood in her poo at 3 weeks which is why we ended up back in hospital. They took samples but I never got an answer. The paed said it was most likely blood ingested from a cracked nipple... hope he's OK

hey girls, sorry i havent been around ive been having a hard time with alot of things. things are now starting to turn out ok. would love to chat here again.

update - rubys 4months old and just 6.5kilos and 64.2cm tall :eek: shes tall and skinny like her brother. she still looks chubby but the maternal lady she wasnt "chubby" enough :rolleyes: anyway im not listening to her advice as me and dh are extreamly happy with her. she is still fully breastfed as were both trying to hold of for solids till a bit after 6months.
shes doing well at night (we cosleep fulltime) not sure how many times a night she feeds as i often wake up and shes on :laughing:
we also had seth in our bed from 1am as he had a nightmare with tears running down his face. he was quite good in our bed. poor thing. we susspect he has asperges syndrome and it has been confirm by a few people as well. were going to a doc to get a referal to a pead to see how we face this as a family.
but i love my family and were doing well all together :yes:
i will try and update you but not sure how i will go on personals. as its hard for me to keep up with my son and an attached little girl :p

Thanks for the replies re blood in poopy nappies ladies. I managed to get Max in to see our Doc today and the poor little bugger has colitis (inflammation of his bowel). We get the results of his stool sample back tomorrow to rule out a reaction to the oral rotavirus vaccine he had last week or a nasty bug........but its looking very likely that he's got an intolerance to Soy protein. So we've now got a prescription for Neocate (beauty........as formula now costs us bugger all) and a referral to a paediatric allergist as the Doc said he now could also get some nasty reactions to certain foods when we start introducing them at 6 months. I'm really hoping he won't end up with any anaphylactic reactions or I'll be seriously neurotic for the rest of my life :( Anyway I guess its good to find out all this now.
We've got one of those vibrating bouncer chairs for him to sit in but I think I might have to do away with it already as he tries so hard to actually sit up in it..............OMG where did my little baby go :confused:

Hi Girls,
Well I just had to walk away from my stoopid computer for a couple of days. I did a massive post and silly me included 2 extra smileys and had to delete them and ended up deleting the whole post! Not happy I tell you :no:.
Things have improved greatly here. Thanks to those of you who have offered advice and ideas. Poppy is now having banana in the morning and farex in the evening mixed with breast milk as well as all of her usual feeds. She absloutley loves banana and squeals when she knows its coming. Very cute. I started her on solids last Thursday and she seems to be going really well with them. Ideally I didnt want to start her this early but she is more than ready for them and is sleeping alot better for it as well. I am also taking it slow and if I notice anything out of the ordinary we will be stopping right away. DH mentioned that her poos now look like a banana cake lol. Noice!
We went shopping last weekend for the rest of the curtains and ended up buying a bedroom suite... maybe if we go shopping for a fridge we will come home with curtains :laughing: Oh well...
Missus S - I hope Max is ok? I dont balme you for being a bit neurotic about foods etc. If it is worst case scenerio is it something he will grow out of?
Noah's Mum - Lol on the rasberries. Poppy has been blowing them for a couple of weeks now and gets spit all over her face. Sounds like you had a lovely brekkie/lunch out.

Yeah, it's great to be back actually. I wasn't sure if I was going to come back or not but hey, I miss you girls and finding out how things are going so I"m going to find the time to get on there on a regular basis. Especially now that some of your are going to be ttc again soon! How exciting!

Hey Angroc - I just thought that Lachie has a mullett as well, he's got only the tiniest bit of hair on the top of his head but still has the long dark bit at the bottom back that is the hair that he was born with. His hair is just starting to grow back but it's blonde so the dark really stands out!! Bogan alright!! we all take the mickey out on him! Poor little poppet, can't even defend himself!! lol Yay on ttc again!! Good luck!! I'm so excited for you all!! I'd love to go again but 3 is enough.............................I think! lol
Ourfamily - yeah I meant to say on the whole CHN saying about the thin side, what in the world would she think about Lachie, he's only 5.8kg!!! She would call him a biaffron or something!!! She isn't too concerned though, she said he is healthy in every other way and he has hit all developmental stages so not to really worry about it! So I'm not!! He is happy and thriving, just not a fat chubby baby, none of my babies have been though!!

I went to the paed today for a follow up on our green poos with blood in them saga back when Lily was 3 weeks old and she's very happy with Lily's progress. 6.5kgs and 62.5cm long so she's doing very well - nearly at the 90th percentile for her age apparently! She's been much much better than those first 6 weeks and no longer on the reflux meds and no more formula top ups which is just fantastic. She had a bit of a crappy night last night and screamed for 30 mins without a break, wouldnt eat, screamed while i changed her and walked around, then brought up a big burp and fell asleep while my Mum walked around with her. So I guess that was the problem? And probably a bit of lower wind too.
So exciting for those TTC! Can't wait to hear when it finally happens for someone! Yay! Sticky dust to all! :babydust2:
OurFamily - I'm with Mel, I don't think those measurements sound small at all? If she's healthy I wouldnt worry. I hope you get things sorted with Seth soon!

MelC - haha, I know what you mean. I have ADD when it comes to shopping at the moment. Good to hear Lily is doing well. As I say to Poppy, growing like a weed!
Noah's mum - Oh yeah, they are smelly poos alright. I have noticed she is farting alot more too. I was eating a pear today and gave a bit of the juice to Poppy which she loved. She ended up pulling my hand to her mouth and sucking on the pear herself. She is a girl who knows what she wants! Bananas are nice and easy for babies to digest too :)
Bronny - As mmalt said, it sounds like a problem that is easy to fix for Lexie. Bah to fob! He so doesnt realise what he is missing out on. If he is like this now then it is probably a good thing he wont be in yours and Lexies lives as he will just end up upsetting her when she gets older. It is hard to stay emotionally detached in situations like this. You sound like you are doing a pretty good job at holding it all together.
Melc - So good to hear you and Lily are well, you sound a lot happier now!
BG - Hugs to you hun hope you are ok! that’s interesting to know about the mods a friend of mine was just banned for sticking up for self after being attacked she got banned and the other chick is still here… Noah and I were nearly off to Tresllian after 3 weeks at home when he had big trouble sleeping thankfully all worked out well and he is now finally sleeping through the night
Mmalt - Already had chat to BG no Noah didn’t have that he had an ultrasound to see if one of his hips had dislocated during birth due to him being so big and breached, all was ok
Angroc - I notice the farting thing to, I was cleaning in the kitchen the other day and Noah was asleep I heard him fart while sleeping, I just cracked up it was so funny… Do you just really mash up a banana? I haven’t really give Noah anything that wasn’t pureed, I’m sure he will love banana though… Pears is one thing Noah doesn’t like although he will eat pear & banana pureed but not pear by itself
As for me now that Noah has his 3 solids a day and sleeping through the night I feel half normal again, I can function through the day and I don’t hit the brick wall anymore by mid day YAY
Noah's mum - Yep, I just mash the banana with a fork until its nice and smooth. I was reading in a magazine last night that its ok to give babies soft food food like bananas with tiny lumps as they just slide down their throat. They actually encourage after a couple of weeks on solids to start giving them more lumps as they learn how to chew. Only do it with foods that are pretty squishy to begin with though. Sweet potato is another fave with Poppy too. I just bake it whole then squeeze out the potato and freeze it into individual portions. Nice and easy to mash with a fork :)
Its good to start feeling like yourself again. Poppy has gone from waking 4 times during the night to waking once! I can deal with that!

You know how I was being chicken in talking to DH about TTC 4. Well I don't have to now. A couple of days ago he just decided and asked me while in the act if it was alright to finish the job Shall we say with nothing on. I was shocked and was like are u sure thats what u want. Thinking he may have just been picking up on my vibe and trying to make me happy) He answered that question with action lol. Charllette is still fully BF so not really expecting much for a while. I just have no AF to go by for girl timing or testing lol. DH hated us trying for a girl with Charllette hes very much a let nature decide guy. Even hated finding out sex lol.
All u mummas starting solids u must be enjoying it. As Charlli is fully BF I just can't seem to bring myself to do it im enjoying it to much. lol
Gotta try catch up a lil had complete had utter chaos here for days. Better try read back a lil just to know where people are at.
angroc - I might have to try Noah on banana over the weekend and see how he goes... i have just been giving him pureed food only buying it when it's on sale. I was going to start making my own food and making it a little lumpier when Noah is 5-6months old.. I love watching his face when we introduce a new food..

Well, I'm meeting up with MelC today!! it's going to 20 today so need to make the most of being outside in this nice weather that's for sure! Other than that I'm not doing much at all! Oh, and just a thought, but do you have a copy of Baby Love? There's some really great stuff in there that might help you get through until you can get into sleep school. It's my bible - I love it!
As for us, all is good here. Evie's gone back to her normal sleeping habits again, which is wonderful. Don't know what the hourly waking thing was all about, but oh well...
We just spent a few days down in Sydney catching up with friends and it really helped me to clear my head. Before we left I'd been having a really hard time with both Will and Evie and didn't really know how to deal with it. I was starting to blame myself when things were going wrong (ie, one child not sleeping, the other one throwing tantrums and misbehaving) and was just feeling like cr@p basically.
I'd also been getting a lot of ''advice" from every man and his dog telling me that Evie needed to go onto formula and solids to help her 'settle'. Of course, this made me feel even worse, like I was doing something wrong by wanting to stick it out with bf-ing her. The argument was that she's a big baby (90th percentile for weight :)) so she must need more food and that I would have had solids early when I was a baby and turned out all right.
Anyway, one of my friends is a midwife who just happens to have one of the biggest babies I have ever seen. Put it this way, he was wearing size two clothes well and truly by the time he was nine months old. He was also breastfed until he was one, and didn't start solids until after six months.
I had a bit of a cry to my friend and she basically told me to wake up to myself. She pointed out to me that Evie is still gaining weight, she's happy and smiling and laughing, she wees and poos all day long and, until last week, was sleeping well. She also gave me good advice about all those people who say "If it was all right in the 70s, it must be all right now". She said that if we did everything that was considered ok back in the 70s, we'd still be having maternal x-rays and chucking our kids on the back seat of the Holden with nothing to protect them but the bassinette they were carried in.
So, long story short, I got over myself, stopped worrying and all is good again. (Meanwhile, while we were having this conversation, Evie was sleeping in her pram for three hours and Will was being an absolute angel...)
Now, please don't take anything I have said as a personal attack on anyone. This is just the advice that I've been given, and that I'm choosing to follow. It's none of anyone's business what anyone else chooses to do with their own child.

wow, good luck with all the TTcers! I'm firmly in the "not anytime soon" bandwagon - DP keeps asking every single day for #3 but not a chance. I probably wont get AF back until mid next year anyway, thank goodness!
W&E, you are doing so well! I've done the solids talk with DP and he just put me back to all the info I researched with DS and we are waiting. Plus, I'm pretty lazy and all that extra work would make me even more tired. We did baby led weaning with DS and will do that again for DD. (And ditto to W&E's last paragraph)
I really think around 4 monthish a lot of babies become a little unsettled - we are battling with Miss M for sure. DP and I are both :hair: ATM with 2 non-sleepers but we know its just a phase. Miss M is certainly causing much drama, wanting to feed non-stop, urgh. She's in 00's well and truly and can now from back to front to back again. She did her first one yesterday and Mummy just managed to grab the camera as she was rolling back!

W&E - You have a very wise friend! I dont think you have to worry about anyone being judgemental in here thank goodness. I guess your 2 have been going through what is known in adults as PMS! lol They will have their ups and downs. Ultimately you know what is best for them and you are doing a great job :yes:
Bex - Yeah your so right with TMI! I think it’s you me and QTB? Shettles just tells you to DTD 2-4 days before ovulation if you want to try for a girl
Mmalt - I think it’s great you have older kids they must really love there little brother, are they good little helpers
Will& Evie - Always stick to your guns every baby is different and needs solids at different times, if your not ready for formula or solids you do whats best for you and Evie.. I remember you saying the same to me not long ago!

I'm going to be a naughty mummy and not do any personals, except for one for Jess:
Don't go!! We will all miss you too much. You make such an effort at personals, not like some of us :p.
OK, now a quick question for those mummies whose older kids watch ABC Kids: do you have any idea what In The Night Garden is about?? Will loooooves it, and I have no idea what's going on. DP and I can't even work out if its the same show repeated every day. Any ideas?
OMG It is one of the most annoying shows ever. Macca pacca macca pacca upsadaisy. Even when ur out of the room its annoying lol. Ant loves it though he saw the DVD in the catalogues and kept pionting at it wantingly. Now theres an add on TV for the DVD and and he comes running everytime he hears it.
As far as I can gather it's supposed to be where dreams are. Cause at the beggining theres a lil kid going to sleep then they sail of to the night garden where dreams are.

I just want to say, that Jess and Liddy, you know how hard it is to keep up with personals, I think that something has been said not so long ago, It's by all means not a deliberate thing that people don't 'personally' respond to you, it's just very hard to keep up especially if you haven't been on for a while!! You should both know that you are both always, always thought of, we've carried on this journey together for a long time to be forgotten. I don't get personals all the time but you know what, it's not about personals to me, it's just about reading on what everyone is up to!! I'm a colperate of not getting to do personals to 'everyone' but you know what, I've most of the time got a baby sitting on my lap, as I'm sure a lot of us do so we are typing one handed, I've got a household with 3 kids and a hubby to run and sometimes I'm just tired and can barely think!! Please both of you don't feel the way you do, there is a reason always that not everyone gets responded to, no hard feelings meant by any!! Stay around, we love hearing how your little families are going. If you have a direct query or question that you want answered, just do it's own post and everyone will read and respond accordingly, we are all here to help each other get through this trying job called 'parenthood'!!

Bex, thanks for that. We've seen the books and DVDs too and can't think of anything worse than buying them. I hate changing the channel and hearing that music because Will comes running to watch it. He stands there laughing and nodding his head along with them all. WTF???
Just wandering I did a OPK and the front edge of the line was darker than the control but not the rest what does this mean.
Also the fact that there is a line does that mean I have returned to fertility or would it be present even if I haven't

Gastro is awful in little ones - we think we have it bad for 24 hours... she's had it for 5 days!
Oh hope she is better soon. I remember Gem had it for a good week once.......didn't bother her in the slightest it was just the nasty nappies for a good week she had though :barf:

I think its a stunning production and I adore the music in it, its a real calming show. We've got heaps of the books which you can get at Myer, Target and the ABC stores and they are really beautiful books.

:iagree: Very well said. Jess and Liddy - you guys are a huge part of our group...........you can't leave us!! Honestly, like I've said before...........lack of free time is a huge factor in getting round to complete personals.........and I don't want to not post at all, so a lot of the time I just do my best, like right now I know one of my kids will wake any second :)
Well I had a bit of a meltdown and cry this morning.........another bad night with Max who now has a cold on top of his colitis, poor little tacker. I'm just hitting the wall with tiredness and can feel my stress levels rising as I'm due to go back to work in just over 6 weeks. I'm so tired that I find myself overeacting & yelling at Gemma when she doesn't really deserve it..............and this is what upsets me the most as I feel like such a bad Mum.
I have to give work 4 weeks notice prior to my return so I'll just see how the next 2 weeks pan out and if I have to maybe I'll take another month off. Gem slept through consistently from 8 weeks old so I guess I'm just in for a bit of a rude shock this time still hoping for a decent nights sleep 4.5 months down the track. DH has been really good and helping where he can but unfortunately its only my boobs that can calm Max down when he needs it, lol :D
I have to keep BF'ing him for the next week so that his bowel can heal.............but then we can try him on Neocate after that. :fingerscrossed: he likes it and this helps him sleep a bit better.
LilMrsC - I think I read a while back that your christening is on this weekend..........Hope you all have a fantastic time on your special day.
SSU - How are your 3 gorgeous girls?
MissusS - You poor thing I remember feeling the same way although I was snapping at DH, it’s so hard when you haven’t had enough sleep… I hope Max starts to settle and sleep through the night for you.. Must be horrible having to go back to work soon

Well I can't do personals right now bout to get my legs waxed (I got one done myself and then Evie cracked it so I have to go get the other one done professionally) so just about to head out the door I'm so sorry I never meant to make anyone feel bad...

Bex - if the other line is darker than the control line it means that you have or will ovulate in the next 24 hr period....
Bronny - give my girl a cuddle.. hope the christening goes well - we have our date booked, but dramas a plenty in regards to it at the moment
all is well - nate is thriving... have to go back to paed again fri about his excema - he is on ab's at the moment to treat the germ infecting his body - apparently the excema is the body trying to fight off the infection.
He'll be 16 weeks old on Tues :D my baby is getting very big. He has no neck control tho... the paed said we'd concentrate on getting the excema under control before we stress about his neck....
He is sleeping on average 8-14 hrs a night *this depends on whether he has had antihistamines if his excema is bad - or he scratches his eyeballs*
He is eating rice cereal and has tried pumpkin *not overly keen 2nd night on it tho*
but adores apples and pears... have some potato for him to try tomorrow..still fully breastfeeding him - put him onto the solids to try and avoid him being attached to my breast 24/7....
we are ttc #2 here too...
Did you all know that if your child is fully breastfed but isn't getting up during the course of the night that it increases your risk of becoming pregnant if you aren't using any contraception methods? :S

have spent all day making a nappy cake for a baby shower that i am attending tomorrow afternoon for my lil sis' besties bubba... this will be #2 for her... she's just turned 19!

BG, she is too cute!! Loving the dimple too. The show is In the Night Garden. It's on the ABC. Will is just obsessed with it. Oh, and if you think you're singing along now, wait until you're walking down the street and find yourself singing nursery rhymes. I have to laugh at Will's versions - he thinks the line in Baa Baa Black Sheep is "have you any Will?" Too funny!
Bronny - That’s great FOB has finally pulled his finger out, hopefully he will have to back pay you to! You crack me up! Well a bit of a sad post from me. We have to rehome one of our dogs.:no: As they have started to not get on at all. Infact they just plain fight.
We have decided to rehome our dog that we got when DS2 was about 4 months old, She is a Am Staff x Bull mastiff. We decided on her because my other dog I have had since I was like 15. So she gets priority. Even though She is 14-16 and we don't know when she will pass on.
BG- glad to see ur making headway with FOB. I know of people that have got pregnant by there friend and a turkey Baister. lol HAHAHAHA.
TGO- yay another TTCer When I started saying I wanted to start TTC I thought no one would be in the same boat lol.

Once again sorry for my :( blah moment, well we are extremelly busy here at the moment, found out last night my bestie is preg with her first :smiliedance: which is fantastic because they were considering adopting if it didn't happen soon, she is 9 weeks but looks a lot further along poor thing is already coping comments from others......but she is due April 1st 2009 which feels so funny considering this was all of us last year!
Anyway as some of you might have seen I am trying to get together a book it would be great if you all could contribute as you are all so worldly and smart!
Evie is going great she is really laughing so much now and looks like rolling but then gets lazy lol.....ah well she'll get there!
DP got guitar hero today for Wii so guess what I'll be listening to all night tonight!
Mum is doing really well (apart from the family feud that is still contributing) but has recovered from the chemo well and so far radio is going well too!

Well I did type up a huge post of personals last weekend but the computer froze whilst posting and of course they all got lost. I know it happens to all of us from time to time but I haven’t had it happen for a while and I so rarely get time to do personals so I was very annoyed! Anyway, take 2…
BG - How was Lexie’s baptism? I can’t wait for the pics. How lovely to have a family heirloom for her to wear and so special for your friend to share it with you. I hope all goes well with little Pixie’s hip and that it isn’t stressing you too much.
Tgo – big hugs to you and your little boy. That’s interesting about the eczema; I’d never heard of it being a by-product of the body fighting an infection. It sounds like Nate’s a strong little man but I had terrible eczema as a kid and I can’t imagine how awful it would be for a baby (and his poor mummy). Apart from that he sounds like he’s going great guns.
Will and Evie – We had dinner out the other night with all the fam for my sister’s birthday and during a lull in the conversation Freya cracked everyone up by saying in her best British accent “isn’t that a pip?”! The twins absolutely love the Night Garden, especially the pontypines. Freya has actually taken to calling them ‘ninky nonk and pinky ponk’!
Noahsmum – a hairdresser that does home visits?, that’s fab! How's your gorgeous boy? I love checking out your facebook pics.
Bex – sorry to hear about your dog, that must have been a tough decision but ikwym. You definitely are not alone on the ttc journey are you!?
CK – you big softie you ;) Hope you managed to enjoy some of your alone time in the end. I agree with the 4mth unsettling thing but doesn’t it suck? And this time I have 2 all-night-nursers to satisfy! Milly sounds like she’s hooking along nicely and that photo is so cute!
Liddy – what a beautiful idea for father’s day. I hope poor Jade is feeling better soon. There are some great homeopathic drops by Brauer that you can use for teething and there’s some little dissolvable tablets too that my friend swears by. I can’t remember the age you can start using them but I reckon it would probably be around 4 months.
SSU – hello and hugs to you and yours! I can relate to the lack of time issues.
Mmalt – I agree on the personals issue; every now and then I like to try and do some but it’s just not always humanly possible! Hope you had a good shop.
MissusS – oh honey I can relate to the lack of sleep problems. Unfortunately I have no advice to offer, but I commiserate! You are not a bad mum though, even if you feel that way, you are only human and clearly doing your damndest for your babies. Hang in there :hugs:

Angroc- woooo Poppy! Once a night is very decent. Who doesn’t love mashed banana? yum! (look out for constipation though and ease off the nanas if it happens, I remember it with DD1)
If I keep going, my luck’s gonna run out and Rylan and/or Astrid will be awake and demanding booby so I’d best wrap it up. I’m deliberately trying to refer to them by their names as much as possible so that they don’t just become ‘the twins’ or ‘the babies’. That’s okay sometimes but I worry about doing it too much.
They are both coughing and sneezing again and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up and our family to be healthy again. It seems that at any given time at least one of us has a cold.
DH has hired 2 new chefs so hopefully he will be spending some more time at home soon. Yay!!
I am so mad at Big W; I went to lay by some stuff out of the baby sale catalogue the day after the sale started and there were huge gaps on the shelves and racks where things had sold out; this happened last time too. Why don’t they re-stock!? I didn’t get half the stuff I wanted. I also hate buying boys clothes- there’s just nothing I like. Girl shopping is much more fun! I did get the playpen that converts to an extra wide gate; I think it’s going to be very useful. Everyone keeps telling me how well I’m coping with 2 babies but I think this is the easy bit. Once they’re mobile I’m gonna be screwed!
I bought Freya the most beautiful book called ‘Big Mama Makes the World’. It’s essentially a creation myth with a female creator and she ‘makes the world, sun, moon, sky, animals, etc. in 7 days, all with her baby on her hip; (it’s not easy with all the laundry and the dishes to do too). It’s just beautiful and the illustrations are gorgeous.
Astrid is stirring and Rye-man won’t be far behind so I’d better go and feed them. I got a breastfeeding necklace from the ABA and it’s fantastic. It keeps the babies distracted and stops them form pinching, scratching and pulling at me! If you are having similar issues I highly recommend them.

Ashlyn - She use to have a salon but closed down a few weeks ago as the rent was to high she actually kept all her clients and does everyones from home… She is pregnant and due in November thankfully she is great friends with mum and she will only continue to do our hair from her place once her bubs is here. Thank god for that I didn’t want to have to find another hairdresser… Noah is good although he has a little cough atm I might take him to the doctors today if it warms up a bit.. It’s great to hear Astrid and Rye man are doing so well
Angroc - I tried Noah on Banana the other day he is unsure about it had a few mouth fulls and didn’t want anymore… I might try him again in a few days I need to give him something extra in the afternoon as he has solids with every other bottle and nothing with the 3pm bottle he is hungry 2hrs later, I tried giving him extra bottle but he throw it all up… How is Poppy going on her solids?
As for my wee man he started coughing last night if it warms up we might go to the doctors, along with getting my quote from my kitchen

Sorry I have been away for a little while but lately there seems to not be enough hours in the day!
Ryder is rolling so much. He just can't stay on his back. If I leave the room, when I come back he is 4 meters off in another direction. He does like a snake slide / bum shuffle thing, it's amazing to watch. He's not crawling yet but we already need a playpen!!:yes:
Ryder had his first solids yesterday. I started him off with Farex (which he hated). After that with his next feed I gave him mashed vegies and he loved it.
I'm over the wedding, I hate the wedding I don't know If I even want to get married anymore. I'm having panic attacks that it's not going to come together in time, DP has not organised one thing (which is frustrating as h*ll), I'm finding it extremely difficult getting people to return my calls, I seriously need a wedding planner.
I'm really starting to wish that DP had of agreed to eloping.
Bronny - How did Lexie's baptism go?? I am so glad that your ex is finally pulling his head in. If he takes off overseas well Good bye to Good Riddance.
Jess- Hope things are ok. You and your family are always in my thoughts. I hope you mum is ok.

Noah's Mum - Poppy is going well on her solidas, still loving banana. We tried Sweet potato again yesterday mixed with a bit of farex but she is a bit unsure on that. I think I am going to have to start giving her farex 3 times a day instead of 2 as she is waking during the night again!
Poppy is in her big girls bed (her cot ;)) now. We just got a new bedroom suite and decided to exerosize baby land from our bedroom. Saturday night was her first night and she woke 4 times! Last night she woke 3 times. She just wants to suckle herself back to sleep and is usually asleep withing a couple of minutes which is just wearing me down. She wont have a bar of being patted back to sleep or rocked in my arms at all and will scream if she doesnt have the boobie. I dont know what else to try as I know she isnt hungry... I am looking online at some sleep clinics. Will see how it goes.

It feels like forever since I was last on here. As hails said it just seems like there's not enough hours in the day.
Both DD's have been sick for 2 weeks and then Lawson had his needles last week and has been sick ever since:hair:, add to that a sick DH (sometimes I think he's worse than the kids)and that's been my life for the past 2 weeks. Lawson has his 4 month appt with the paed today, it will be interesting to see how much he's grown, I haven't weighed him for a while but I can definately tell he's putting on weight.

Bronny - How'd Lexie's christening go?? I thought you would have put some pics on fb by now-you're usually so good at that. Oh and I hear you about the wonder pets-I quite often say to my DD's, What's gonna work..........TEAM WORK!! It's hilarious what you find yourself singing once you've been exposed to children's shows.
LilMrsC - And how did Charli's christening go? Did all your well laid plans come to fruition? We want pics of yours too.

Charlotte is finally having a snooze so I thought I'd pop on and say hello.
The Christening went very well on Saturday. Charlotte smiled and giggled the whole way through. She really was the star of the day. Everything went off without a hitch. She wore my gown that I was christening in 24 years and 4 days prior. We got so many beautiful gifts. I'm still trying to find a place to put them all.
Renee - Oh I hope your family is starting to feel lots better. I know when DH is sick the whole world stops...haha such a sook.
Ang - Oh the first few nights in the big bed are horrid arent they. I dont know who cried more, me or Charlotte haha. I hope the sleeping gets better for you.
Hails - I felt the same when I was planning our wedding. There is so much to be done. Dh was helpful but only with the small stuff. It'll all come together and be the perfect day. I had a "day off" from wedding planning about 3 months before where I wasnt allowed to think or talk about weddings. It was a huge relief.
TGO - Oh that sounds so cute. Charlotte will be a messy eater when she goes onto solids I think.

Quick Lawson update from his appt, the squint in his left eye has straightened up, which is good. He has an umblical hernia (which I presumed) but it's only minor, so should be fine. He's weighing 5.8kg, 63cms long and head circ. 41.5cm (boof head!!!), so everythings going fine.
Alrighty back to my personals (although I'm sure they'll be no where near as good as Nic's:laughing:)
Ang - We attempted the change from the bassinette to the cot last week and it was disastrous!!! So he is back in his bassinette for the time being, well at least until everyone is well again and I don't have 3 children wanting me instead of 1. I'm glad Poppy's enjoying her solids, it seems to be doing the trick.
Ashlyn - A friend of mine has identical twin boys and from day one I've been really concious of calling them by their names too. It can get really easy to just call them "the twins". That book you bought for Freya sounds really cute. Where did you get it from?? Great news about your husband hiring more chefs-more time at home with you and the kids.:yelclap:
Noahs mum - Ooh new haircut, I love getting my hair done. I just had my nails done a couple of weeks ago-first time since having Lawson, I almost feel human again!! Did you take Noah to the doctors? How did he go? I hope he doesn't get the bronchialitis (sp?) again.
Jess - Are you sick of hearing DP on Guitar Hero yet?? I'm glad your Mum seems to be coping well, no thanks to the family fued going on. Lawson too keeps looking like he's going to roll but then gives up half way.....so cute!!
Will & Evie - Oh I can't wait to move to the sticks so we can have our Bubhub catch ups, I hope you know some good cafes/coffee shops in the area??

Hey girls just a quick one, fingers are quite sore but we DTD last night and guess who got caught up in the moment and didn't protect ourselves....but I don't know if I was Oing or not, I go ta slight bleed last week for two days that was like AF but have since had really watery and sticking discharge (sorry if tmi) so feeling a bit weird now cause we had just decided on a min 2.5 year age gap!

oh and Renee yes guitar hero is driving me nutso........especially since I play guitar myself...but Evie loves it she starts kicking and dancing when daddy plays it.....
Togo - I let Noah old play with my fingers so he doesn’t end up with his food all over him.. Great he liked his solids
Hails - I think the original farex is a bit bland I found a pear and banana one which Noah loves it smells like banana muffins… Glad he liked his vegies though
Angroc - LOL have you tried her on anything else? I spoke to Noah’s GP today and told him how much Noah drinks and his solids starting today he now has 4 solids a day Noah loves pear and banana farex, all pureed fruit and vegies.. I’m glad he likes anything as I’m such a fussy eater… I love trying him on new fruit and watching his face it’s so funny.. Noah now goes to bed at 7pm and wakes anywhere between 5.30-6.30am… Before I transferred Noah to his cot he was sleeping in his cradle I was given “my little bed” I put that in his cradle for a few days then put the little bed in his cot then took it out slowly he became use to his big bed.. Poppy might be getting use to sleeping in her big bed

As for us Noah has a throat and ear infection he is on antibiotic and Readypred and the nebuliser for a week, he doesn’t seem to bothered by it except when he coughs other then that he is still his happy self

Well me, I've had this awful virus that is going around Aussie by the sounds of it. Like a gastro type thing but now that's gone but I feel very muscular sore and lots of headaches!! I'm powering through it though!!
Lachlan is going well. I've ceased his chiro for now as he seems to have really improved. The chucking is so so minimal, like normal dribble amount now so that's great. He is still waking at least twice through the night for a feed so I'll have to look into getting him out of that second feed that's for sure!! I think that maybe once I start him on some solids he might sleep for longer in the first stint. All good for now though.
I'm just counting down til I go to Melb now to see my mum!! She has bought all this new stuff for Lachie, bless her and she's already erected it as well!! She excited you think?? i'm there for 2 weeks now, started off 5 days, then 10 days and now 2 weeks! :smiliedance: I'm going to hire a dress up to surprise my best mate for her 30th birthday!! Rock up to her door singing happy birthday!! She has no idea that I'm coming over!! Can't wait to see her reaction!!

I haven't posted for ages. I have been reading posts as much as I can. It seems like I rarely get time to sit down on the computer.
Sounds like everyone is going great and enjoying motherhood.
I know a lot of you have facebook and I have just joined up but no idea how to find people. Can anyone give me some clues????
Cruz is 4/12 months now and just adorable. Not doing any rolling or anything, but tries to pull himself forward if you lay him down. His neck is coming along really well and has almost straightened out. Still seeing physio every couple of weeks.
Only 2 weeks from today until my number one son comes home from New York. I am simply bursting at the seams to see him. I cant wait to give him a big hug and a kiss and just know that he is home safe with his Mumma again!
I read some of you are trying to get your bubs into cots. Cruz has been in the cot since about 6 weeks old. I got one of those adjustable things that they lay in between. I dont know the exact name of them. I never had any real problems with changing him to the cot.
He is a very long boy (already 68cm) so I couldnt keep him in the bassinette.
I will definetely start any try doing personals again, but in the meantime Hugs and Kisses to everyone.

Sorry for my blah post yesterday. I am feeling a bit better today but still no better in the sleep department unfortunately.
Noahs Mum - I hope you are right and its just a matter of her getting used to the big bed. Lol, yep its funny when they try something new for the first time. I was a bit lazy today and mixed some of the pear and banana farex with cooled boiled water instead of my breast milk and she pulled a lemon mouth then laughed. Very cute. I am going to cook up a bunch of veggies we brought today and freeze them and try her on them tonight.
JJ7 - good to see you back on here. You sound so excited about your son coming home. New York is fabulous. Im suprised he wants to come home!
Liddy - Good luck with Jade's vax's. Poppy is having hers on Thursday and I am not looking forward to them. You sound excited about Jasons parents coming. Jade would have changed heaps since they last saw her huh?

Hails - Sorry you are having a hard time planning your wedding. Unfortunately men dont really have the 'wedding planning gene' and dont manage to get as excited about the intricate details as we do or dont seem to think they are important. DH and I eloped to Fiji with some friends and hired a wedding planner to take care of everything for us. It was really stress free. Saying that though, it would have been nice to have the big wedding with all of the bits and bobs that go along with it. Have you tried chatting to yoru DF and letting him know he needs to start pulling his weight?
I reckon your can of worms needed to be opened too. It gave us all a kick in the pants! :laughing:
Ashlyn - wow on your mega post! Good on your DH for hiring some more help. Family time is so important. Babies grow so fast and you miss out on so much when you work. The big dept stores are cheeky advertising something then not having enough in stock when they know it will be popular. I guess you have to be pretty fanatical and get to the sales when they start to have a chance at getting what you want.
Im very excited, my girlfriends and I are going to see the Cirque De Solei show Dralion in December. I have always wanted to go, it looks like it will be a fab night out.

Unlikely, it's quite minor and the pead said that it should fix it's self up, thank goodness but he did say they don't usually do anything about them until they're about 3 years old any way, so:fingerscrossed:.

Liddy, I wouldn't worry about what anyone else is saying, If Jade is getting relief from the rusks, then so be it.
That being said, I'm not starting Evie on any kinds of solids till she's at least six months, I'm definitely not a perfect mother (you should see my house) and I would hope that no one here thinks I'm looking down on them for making that decision.
Liddy - I agree with W&E, you do what you feel is right as a mother. Alternatively have you tried teething rings? You can refrigerate most of them and the cool ring helps to give relief.
Reneem - Im glad its only a minor hernia. DH had quite a severe one and had to be operated on at 3mths of age. I have heard that most of them do repair themselves though.
Question: Do any of you use teething rusks yet? I gave Jade one today and she loved it cause she's teething pretty bad, but i feel like im being looked down on for it :( honestly.. what is the fuss, nobody is perfect, who waits till exactly 6 months for everything.. congrats to them cos somehow that makes u a better mother.

Dd has had teething rusks for the last 3 week's maybe 1 - 2 week at the most but it has helped a lot with her painful gums
We all can only do whats right for our child not each and every child is the same and most thing's on packages are just guide line's anyway 's non of whats put in teething rusks are harmful your doing a great job poo on anyone who's making you doubt that

I'm sorry I started doing a big post of personals yesterday but then Gem woke up and I didn't get to do it.
Well Max is continuing to feed 2 hourly at night...........it's crazy that at nearly 5 months I feel like I have a 1 day old baby on my hands. I'm just holding on to the hope that it's due to his cold and diarhorrea that he's still got. Once his bowels are back to normal I can try him on the Neocate.............I've never been so eager to check the contents of his poopy nappy's :laughing:
But I can't sit at home feeling sorry for myself so as tired as I am I'm still getting out and about............Gem's in childcare today and a girlfriend's invited me over and I've got some shopping to do after that.
BronnyGrace - Those christening photos were fab..........she's going to have beautiful lush hair like her Mummy :yes:
Ashlyn - I'm sorry I've still got to search back and look at the photos of the twins you put up a while ago

Noahs Mum - Poppy has been doing ok. Still waking 3 times a night! Oh well, I figure she will sort herself out eventually. I know she is getting enough both in the way of BF and solids. I have decided to only give her solids every second day for the time being to see how she goes. I posted in another thread and got a bit of a @rse whopping from other hubbers who wholeheartedly did not think I should be giving her solids this early which has now made me doubt myself which I bloody hate! I am so sticking to this thread. There are some pretty viscious ppl out there! Good luck with the lumpier food with Noah. Make sure you get lots of pics. I have a couple of Poppy with vegies smeared all over her face. Very cute!
Majeevch - Ooh maybe a BFP from you! How exciting! Let us know as soon as you test. How awesome that you may be utd!!
Melc - I hope you feel better soon. I have the same tickle in my throat. Do you get sinus or hayfever? There is so much pollen around at the moment, maybe its that?
Missus S - Lol on the poos. I have to say that I never thought analysing poo would ever be a topic of discussion but then being a parent throws many suprises our way huh? Maybe Max and Poppy have a conspiracy going between them about not sleeping for their mummies! Bad babies!
Poppy had her 4 mth vaccinations today and apart from having a bit of a cry when the needles went in she was a real champ, my brave girl. She is right on the 50th percentile for her head at 41cm and weight at 6kg on the dot. Mummy is very proud!
I think I will give her another week of waking during the night then call a place called the Riverton Centre in Brisbane which is a sleep and feeding place for advice. While we were at the docs today I also got him to check out my poor mouth. It turns out that I have a impacted wisdom tooth which has infected my jaw and am now on antibiotics. No wonder I have been in pain all week! The only one that had never given me trouble and now it has to be removed. :(
It sure has been quiet in here this week! Busy mums and bubs I guess.

Thanks Liddy :) - Im sure Jade will be fine with her injections. I think as they get a bit older it isnt such a big shock for them and they get over the pain a bit quicker. You are lucky jade was still fitting into her 0000's. You got some good mileage out of them!

As soon as she is sitting up my knuckle goes straight in her mouth for a chew. She has started pulling herself up to stand (with my help of course)! Clever girl.

New game for the week: While BF'ing, Poppy will stick her whole hand in her mouth at the same time. I say in a silly voice, 'get it out' and Poppy cracks up laughing. Very cute.
Poppy slept from 7pm to 12am woke for a quick feed then slept again till 4 am had another quick feed then woke at 6.30am. All together a fab night I must say :) She is now back in bed for her morning nana nap but is having a chat to the big toy cow in her cot the cutie.
Hi everyone! sorry i avent been on for a while, iv been so busy! and DS1 has been a major callenge lately, i dont know whats up with him, but i think it has alot to do with daycare, so i think im gonna change him to a centre over here (his current one i drive 20mins to get toO!)
we were also planning on moving to my dads house, to save some $, but we have desided not too now, as we have finally found an area we like, with an ok house and good landlords, so we are going to stay (i HATE moving!)

Jade's Mum - Yay for Jade rolling. I also can't believe that she's lasted so long is 0000's. But Gem must have been the same as she had so many 0000 outfits whereas Max hardly lasted in them and he's now in 00
Max still hasn't improved his sleep..........went down at 10pm, woke at 12.30, 3.30, 5.30 and 6.30. At both 5.30 and 6.30 I asked DH to try settle him without me feeding him without luck so he's definitely hungry. But again he's STILL got diarrhorea from that 30mls of formula he had a week and a half ago!
I've found him the most divine Christening outfit which is getting made by a lady in Sydney...........ohhh can't wait to see him in it but that won't be for a while as its not until October.

Just a quick funny story I wanted to share with you all. Yesterday I went for a pap smear and as I'm laying there with my legs spread eagled, my GP (who is polish and has quite a thick european accent) says, "So you have had all 3 of your children via cesarean?", to which I reply, "Yes" , to which she replies, "Yes your cervix is very innocent!" :laughing::laughing: I could not stop laughing, my legs were shaking!! I said to her, "Well it's nice to know that one part of my body is innocent, I just wasn't quite thinking it was that part!!" :laughing::laughing: It was hilarious!!!

MissusS - the twins' pics are the least of your priorities honey! I too am up every couple of hours atm and it sux. Although I have two babies so it's a bit more understandable. If Max is genuinely hungry there's probably not much you can do except wait for the growth spurt to finish. You obviously know what you're doing with getting DH to settle him and making the breast less available-that's what the ABA suggest (even if it hasn't worked so far). I know what a killer sleep deprivation is and esp with you going back to work soon. You are amazing to be keeping up with him, I really hope things improve soon.:hugs:

ANGROC - Poppy sounds like she is going extremely well on solids. Her sleeping pattern doesn't sound so good though, I really hope she calms down a bit and gives you some time to enjoy that new bedroom suite of yours :laughing:
RENEEM - I have my fingers crossed that everybody has recovered from their illnesses. Lawson sounds like he is growing quite nicely. He will be 6 foot tall before you know it!!

When my second brother was born, my first brother was so jealous he actually tried to kill the baby (not saying your son will). Mum got to the stage where she couldn't leave the baby unattended. She actually had to lock it in the bedroom so my brother couldn't get near it. He's behaviour got really bad for the first 6 months. He finally turned into the same little boy he had been. (They are the best of friends now).

ASHLYN - How did your early night work out??
Well where do I start. Wedding plans are almost done. Went searching for my wedding cake on Thursday. I found the lady who is going to make it. As DP and I both aren't too keen on cake we are just going to have a simple 2 tiered butter cake with butter icing. White Icing, Black ribbons and red roses to go with our white, black and red theme.
Ryder wont stop rolling. You take your eyes off him for one second and he's rolled half way across the room. We already need a playpen.
He's going good with his solids - loves the real food. He's already trying to take the spoon off you and feed himself and always tries to stick his hand in the bowl. It's yucky, messy work but so much fun at the same time.
DP and I have a few nights without Ryder coming up. We have an engagement party out of town coming up on Sept 6th.
I'm matron of Honour at my best friends wedding in Melbourne on Sept 13th.
We have DP's best friends wedding out of town on Oct 4th.
My hen's night is on Oct 24th and our wedding on Nov 1st.
Our itinerary is full between now and christmas!
A friend who has organised my Hen's night won't tell me what we are doing. I think it is a mystery bus tour although I can't be certain.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. We are out for dinner tonight with my Cousins who are visiting for the weekend.

hailsntwang - Thanks, I am lucky to have lots of family close by and a very supportive DH which really makes a difference. I'm really coping fine but its just the going back to work in 5.5 weeks factor that is starting to stress me. You must be so excited organising all this stuff for your wedding. I know I'm loving it arranging Max's christening............even his little outfit reminds me a bit of my wedding dress as it has diamonte buttons up the back lol. I should have been an event coordinator as I love putting on parties.............but I do get to do a bit of that with my job as I arrange corporate dinners from time to time.
Noahs' Mum - I've been wondering how much night fill work pays lately............I think there's a thread on here about it that I should look into.

I've resisted joining Facebook although I do have Myspace..............not sure if I want to be looked up so easily by people/employers............not that I have anything to hide :cool: DH finally gave in and joined last week so I had a look at it and it looks pretty good..............but just worried about it being a time waster that I really don't need when my house is never as clean as it really should be, lol.
Managed to go out and get a haircut and blow dry this morning...............good riddance split ends. Off to a 2nd birthday party later today and tomorrow we have a Christening in the morning followed by a 3rd birthday party. No rest for the wicked!! :party:

Hey all..
Our little Natey-Boo *well not sooo little lol.....he's over 7kgs!* turned 16 weeks old on Tuesday just gone...
We had a very long day yesterday - and a very painful one for him at that...
He had his immunisations again yesterday.. so that's a BIG needle jabbed in each chubby lil thigh......
Then we had a follow up appointment with the Paed about his excema etc....
*not sure if i posted that the Paed said the other week that he's pretty certain that his heart murmur *should* clear itself up in time*
anywho the app yesterday was to again monitor the *improvement* of his excema with all the potion & lotions & ointments that he had given us and the 2nd diff kind of antibiotics....
Well thats not working either..
Poor little thing I tell you..
Its so upsetting to see him so itchy and know that the Polaramine and the special bath stuff he has to use only takes the slightest edge off the itching...
he's always clutching at his chest scratching...
it takes two of us to change him most of the time or he'll scratch it to bleeding point...
anywho so the Paed says.. ok we'll send you for blood work.... gives us a form for pathology
*i'll get to that part in a sec....*
He also says to do the same stuff as i had been doing creams etc... stop the antibiotics, but over all the creams etc put a fairly thick layer of vaseline....
**back to the blood work***
Take him down to the hospital pathology - as the Paed is the hospy one.. same fella i saw when i was an itty bitty way back lol....
they tried his left elbow... almost collapsed his vein.. NO blood.. tried the right one.. NO Blood...
they called the kids ward and asked if there was anyone there that could get blood out of such a tiny little one....they said yep...
drove around there... had to walk 500 miles in the pouring rain....
*thank God i remembered the umbrella when we left home!*
Got there and went it.. the registrar on duty conveniently was on of the girls that was doing ob/gyn rounds when i was preg/in labour/had bubba!! God she is such a gem!
She tried to get it out out a vein in his left hand.. successfully got ONE drop.... :S
Then she tried the side of his left foot.. and successfully got 1mL out... i have this inkling that the pathology said 5 mL tho...
He wants us to go back Mon/Tues to have another checkup.. and mentioned that he wants to admit him for 4-7 days to do wet dressings etc....
so yeah.. thats life as we know it...

TGO - Don't know if u wanna try something outside what the docs are doing, but Charllette would scratch till she bled too, lil smart bubba would even get her hand down through the neck hole and scratch. The side of her face was constantley all scratched up. She even would scratch at her eyes sometimes. When u said about clutching at his chest scratching I was like that's exactley it. It's such a desperate clutching scratch just searching for relief.
We have just started her with Robertsons medicated Skin Repair cream. It's was made by a man for his son who had it from top to toe and had found nothing that worked. It was on today tonight I think.
DS2 had it too and nothing worked except him growing out of it. I just had to bath him in plain water, not let him get to warm and not let anything wool or fluffy near him. I wish I had this cream for him.
At first I thought it wasn working cause she went all red but then it sudsided and now she is so much better. I can still see it but its alot lighter and she doesn scratch and keep herself awake. It really really stinks and turns her clothes yellow but I really don't care lol.
Also DH has Syriosis (SP?) and excema on his hands he cannot handle nething with Glycerol or Glycerine or nething starting with Glyc so maybe watch out for that. Ow and Taking fish oil really helps him. I was gonna start taking it if the cream didn work (Charllette is BF) luckily for me it is cause I constantley burp up the taste, even though there supposed to be tasteless. lol.
After all that I haven got time for more personals so I'll just send u all a big :hugs:

Well I have still been trying to study but am finding that my concentration is going down hill. I'm slowly getting better mentally but my counseller who i gelled with is now retiring so I have to find another one!
Well as for Little Miss Evie she is fantastic, still not roll but doesn't bother me I remember Marsi saying that Will did roll either but she is sitting up a lot by herself now when we put her sitting up shes trying to pull herself up but she'll get there! Teething big time still so we got her a little mesh feeder and put some ice cubes in there and she loves it! She's such a chatter bug and laughing girl and our perfect princess!:bee:

We just picked up a new play centre for Poppy from KMart, got it home to set it up and half the pieces are missing! Grrrr. It was all taped up like it should be on the outside but when we opened it, someone had clearly been there before us! 2 hrs later, we are still waiting for them to call back to let us know if they have another one....
I put Poppy in her cot an hour ago for a sleep and after her usual complaints to the contrary went quiet. Thinking she was finally asleep, I poked my head in her door and she has turned herself upside down and is chatting to Eyeore and playing with her hands. At least she isnt screaming :rolleyes:

I'm just so upset I had to share with someone, I think I'm about to burst.
I've been crying my eyes out all morning. I'm so sick of waiting around for FOB to realise what an idiot he is and what he's missing out on. After something happened on Thursday I called him crying and upset and he said he'd come down on Saturday (yesterday) and talk to me about it. And then yesterday I waited all day and he never called me, just sent me a message from his Mums phone at 7pm saying his phone was broken and he would come down today. I told him not to bother because his actions had already said everything I needed to hear. No reply. And he hasn't bothered to call me today. I mean, I know I said not to bother, but I didn't really mean that. How can he be so careless? I'm just hurting so much and I don't know what to do. I know I should try and get over it all but how do I stop myself from holding on? :gloomy:
:hugs: hun. I dont know what I can say that will make it better for you. FOB sounds like he is just being difficult. I think he doesnt realise what he is missing out on. He helped make your beautiful bub, he has a responsibility to the both of you. He cant turn off being a dad or being supportive to you when it isnt convieniant. Having a 'broken phone' isnt a good excuse. What if there was something wrong with Lily? He needs to be contactable. Letting go of a relationship, especially one with as many strings as yours has will take time. Please dont be too hard on yourself and know that us April mummies are here for you. Well I finally told FOB that I'm done. He made it quite clear that he doesn't want to be in a relationship with me. He just wants me to hold onto the feelings in case he changes his mind down the track. Well I said that's simply not good enough. I've waited a year for him to figure out I'm worth something, and if he still doesn't know, I'm not waiting another year to find out.
I'm pretty upset. I just need to keep telling myself why I don't want him and how much more I deserve. And how much more Lily deserves. We both deserve someone who loves us and wants to spend his time with us. Not someone who fits us in around everything else on his social calendar. I keep second guessing myself and thinking that I should keep trying and keep holding on. But every day I hold on is just another day filled with disappointment when he still doesn't want me.
He's an idiot. It's completely his loss. And maybe one day he'll realise it. But by then it'll be too late.

Hun, you just summed it up perfectly! I can never understand men who leave a fantastic partner and beautiful bub only to realise too late that that is what they wanted all along. Well, we have a new waking up record here! 6 times last night sheesh. I am such a zombie this morning. I dont know why Poppy keeps waking... Twice I was able to pat her back to sleep but the other 4 times she just wanted to feed. I tried cluster feeding her between 5 and 7pm last night to see if that would help fill her up a bit more, but nope. Im not so concerned now about me getting up however many times at night, I am more concerned about developmental issues that may arise from Poppy not getting enough sleep. She seems to be ok at the moment but I have noticed her sleeping for a bit longer during the day. I got CK's lactation cookie recipie and will make them today to see if improves the quality of my milk, maybe that is the problem....? I just wanted to say as well that I know supply isnt an issue. I expressed 200mls from one boob last night! Also they have gone from a D cup from last month up to a DD again. Maybe it is quality????

Dinner on Saturday was absolutely fantastic. After dinner they all came back to my place for more drinks.
My cousin and his wife are expecting their first child so she was full of questions. Both my cousin and I think it's a boy, everybody else thinks it's a girl.
I love having the social nights out these days. Ryder was so good, didn't even utter a whimper. He was almost 2 hours past his bed time when he finally got put down for the night (when we got home) and still was very well behaved.
MELC - Your FOB needs to get over himself something shocking. How dare he expects to be able to stay in your bed (even though it is only for sleep), and how can he expect you not to move on with your life and with another guy (if one was to appear in the picture).
Your FOB sounds like a real d*ck and needs a good kick up the a**!:banghead:
These double standards make me so mad. Honey don't go thinking that he would stay with the deal of not seeing anybody else, that's just wishful thinking.
My advice is DO NOT LET HIM STAY AT YOUR PLACE in these current circumstances. You need time to mend and having him staying over and in your face is not going to work. Let him know that this does not mean that visitation is over, he is more then welcome to spend the day with Lily, just not the whole night. It's only temporary but It is what you need.

Hi lovelies - finally DS is at kindy, DP work, DD asleep. Peace! Everything is going really well here. Millie has her tongue stuck out at everyone, blowing raspberries. She's adorable. Li keeps trying to feed her - so much for waiting to 6 months. I caught him feeding her a giant chunk of banana and she was beaming away. I am glad they are best friends :D
DP lost his job, so things are having a bit of a shake up around here. I'm going to uni next year now and DP might be a SAHD if we cant get both kids into full time childcare.
Hails - lucky you! I've forgotten what its like to even leave the house these days. Getting 2 ready to go anywhere can be very challenging some days. Eek about the rolling - although we are in the same situation. Put her down in one place, next minute she's gone. Good luck with the wedding planning!
Ang - Don't stress about your milk - sometimes babies just decide to start waking. Very normal - most babies don't sleep through until 6 months anyway. Do you drink much caffeine or spicy foods? It can cause restlessness in bubs. (For the record, DD doesn't sleep through either :p )
BG - I'm glad you are looking at things positively! :hugs:
MelC - the other girls have given some great advice so sending you lots of hugs. You are dong great.

Sorry haven't been around in a while. Had a busy week last week and then spent the weekend with the folks.
Managed to catch up with friends, and do some much-needed shopping, which was fabulous.

CK - I only have 1 cup of caffenated tea in the morning then maybe 2 cups of decaf tea throughout the day. I do have a little bit of choccy but I dont think its enough to really be doing anything. I will be cutting it out from today though. No spicy food either. I am at a bit of a loss... Sorry to hear your DP lost his job. Does he work in an industry where there is plenty of work? Very cute of your son to be feeding your DD banana. Its one of Poppy's faves.

majeevch - No I never really had that sensational of my boobs filling up whilst being pregnant...........never really got it in any of my pregnancies though. Have you considered taking some DHA (Fish oil)..........this may really help you with mental alertness and its also wonderful to ward off depression etc. I've got one of those mesh feeders so I may put some ice in it for Max...........he seems like he's teething a bit but its always hard to know for sure. Although do you have to boil the water that you freeze to make the ice blocks??
myQTBoys - Wow for Harlan to be the first one to crack a tooth I think!! Yikes about the biting!
melaniec - Grrrr for him being so rude to not let you know earlier in the day that he wasn't going to make it...........making you wait around. It must be so hard going through this when you have Lily involved.............but you are right in that you both deserve much better.

BronnyGrace - Actually sorry it wasn't an exciting haircut..............just a trim to tidy so nothing fantastic. I was just glad I got a nice blowdry in and that I didn't have to rush home to a hungry Max! I read a few threads on here about the hair loss and its completely normal when bubs is around 3-4 months............thank goodness as it was starting to freak me out a little. Glad you Yummy Mummy's had a fab time at the party................good on you :D
Angroc - I ended up phoning the ABA today to speak to a counsellor after yet another night of on-the-dot 2 hourly feeding. The lady I spoke to was great and seems to think maybe Max isn't feeding long enough throughout the day. At this age they get easily distracted a stop feeding...............so from now I'll be feeding him somewhere quiet (not whilst BubHubbing :laughing:), offering both breasts and not just one, and also allowing him to feed as much as he likes between 5pm and 9pm. Already he's just had a much longer feed than he normally would...............so :fingerscrossed: this may start to make a difference in him. Just a suggestion for you as now that I think about it.............he would have rather quick feeds during the day but about 20 - 30 mins at night so it makes sense to me. Amazing how we still function whilst getting up so much during the night isn't it!

I've had a much better day today... even made some cupcakes. I have realised that my relationship with Elliot is no different today than it was a week ago. The only thing that has changed is what is in my head. I'm grieving the loss of the hope of us getting back together. Now that is clarified, I know what to focus my efforts on...
Thanks Mel - Poppy seems to be much better this morning. She slept in bed with us last night so I could keep a close eye on her. You read about other bubs getting ill and having the gastro bug but you cant really relate what they are going through and how scary it can be until it happens to you.
Im glad to hear you had a better day yesterday. It sounds like you have worked through a few things in your head which is a positive step. Cupcakes always help too :)

We had a definite improvement at the beginning of the night where he slept from 9.30pm til 1am. But went pear-shaped again after that............2am, 4am, 6.15am. But then again I only started the new feeding patterns late yesterday afternoon plus he still has diarrhorea so I think he has belly pain as he was letting rip when I was feeding him at 4am :laughing: Hope Poppy is OK.

Well I got a busy day ahead..............got all the in-laws coming over for a nice dinner because it would have been my FIL's birthday today, the 1st without him actually here. I must be mad putting on a dinner party for all when I'm not really sleeping :yes: Going to phone the Doctor's this morning to see when I can get Max back in.

hi everyone another update so you all know im still here.
seth is worrying me with alot of things. we have alot of appointments for us (his parents) to get blood tests and things like that then to think he might have to get one as well. hes not talking pointing or interacting with many people and hates cuddles unless he is hurt :(
ruby is going along nicely but last night was bad from 2am where seth woke up screaming so put him in our bed so 4 in a queen size bed and ruby on my boob coz seth was moaning and groaning. i can sleep with her attached so its all good. we have another check up for her when she is 6months and seth 2years.
Q: for anyone using cloth full time on your bub. does your baby reach the milestones slower :confused: ruby doesnt roll unless shes naked. and she rolls both ways but with a cloth on she cant or doesnt roll. but she can sit for 10seconds :yes:
hopefully after a few appointments have happened i can give more updates. (is it ok to update on seth in here even though its the april thread aka ruby :confused:)
also i may as well ask my questions in here because i seam to get more answers :p
q: seth seams to have runny poos. no throwing up but a happy and healthy child other wise but no solid formation at all.. does this seam weired?

Rosie - Of course its OK to talk about Seth in here :yes: I'm only using a bit of cloth on Gem so not sure about the milestones (I wouldn't get too stressed about milestones anyway - they're all different).............but Seth should definitely be having solid poo's at his age. Maybe he has some food intolerances/allergies that you should get checked out.

MissusS, I'd never really thought of that being a problem before. I find that Evie really struggles to feed well during the day, especially when Will is around and climbing on her, yelling at her, etc etc. She always has a massive feed at night though, usually from about 7.30pm till at least 8 r 8.30pm. I leave her on my lap and then give her another feed at around 10ish.
I think you're very brave to be sleep deprived and having people over for dinner, but it's also a very lovely thing to still be celebrating FIL's birthday. I hope you all have a great night.

Ang, I did indeed get spoiled. There are no cake shops around here, so my lovely DP took some sneaky time off work yesterday afternoon and drove to the next big town to buy me one. It was fantastic! He'd also sneakily bought me some beautiful Bulgari perfume from Will and Evie to go with the new handbag that I bought myself on the weekend. I was very impressed!! (Of course birthday cake and Weight Watchers aren't a great mix, so we're popping into work this morning to share the cake around :laughing:)

Our Family, of course you can talk about Seth here. I rabbit on about Will all the time. I hope you start to get some answers to all that's been troubling you. Sorry but I can't help with the milestone questions, but I'm with MissusS in that every baby reaches their milestones at different rates. I also think I read somewhere that rolling isn't even a milestone and that some kids don't do it at all.

It seems that a few of our "angels" are causing some headaches for mummies.... not good!
Lachie is doing the same for me unfortunately... He too has taken to waking up between 4 - 6 times a night now.. He doesn't want to be fed, but he does let out a bit of an anguished type of cry for a minute until I go in & give him a pat or pop the dummy back in... No idea what's going on - I've tried offering a late bottle at 11.00pm thinking he might be hungry in the night, but that makes no difference... Perhaps I need to try ignoring him a little bit too, it's just hard when we have such a little timber house & he wakes up the entire family with just a bit of a cry... I really miss my sleep again.. so hard to get motivated during the day isn't it..
MelC... I'm glad your feeling a little better about things today & your so good for baking - I wish I could get my butt into gear to do something like that. As others have said, I don't think your ex knows what he's missing out on, but you have to put it down to his loss & do what you can to make yourself & your gorgeous little girl happy.

My 30th is coming up and I have been dropping hints to DH for ages now about and eternity ring. :no: nothings changed. he doesnt seam troubled by it :rolleyes: hes showing no signs of when he does it. hence i cant even throw him on the toilet so when i change his nappy he doesnt grab his but getting poo on his hand :hair: hence taking 15mins to change 1 nappy :thumbsdown:. no use getting angry at him because he doesnt get it. hence why we need him check by a pead as he isnt acting like a normal nearly 2 year old. the soonest we can get him in to the doc we trust (yes we found one ...we think) is thursday. we may have to keep a sample :barf:

Our Family - :hugs: for you. Has Seth been on any medication lately or drinking anymore milk than normal? They're just the couple of other things I can think of that may cause sloppy poos. As for Ruby's rolling, i don't use cloth so I'm not 100% sure but it could be the bulk of the nappy that's stopping her from rolling when she's got one on, but as others have said i wouldn't be too concerned.
Ang - I'm BFing Lawson 4-5 times a day. The first feed at about 7am and the last one at about7-8pm. He has, a couple of times, woken at 4am onwards and I will normally give him a feed then too. HTH
NMA - I agree with Ang I tink the 4mth needles were a little better than his 2mth ones, so good luck. I hope your sleep returns to you soon.
W&E - I'm glad you had nice day and got some nice pressies.

I think Evie has around six feeds a day. They're usually fairly well spaced out in the mornings, but by late afternoon/early evening she has a few feeds together. I also top her up before she has a sleep during the day as well, but I tend to not count that as a full feed.
Good luck with the eternity ring. I had my hopes up that I was getting engaged on my 30th birthday. Well, let's just say that yesterday was my 33rd and I still have a DP, not a DF or a DH...

:o um 11 lol shes a boob monster i swear. i dont mind i can walk around play with seth do the house work ect so i dont mind. some days its less but never more. and yes i still feed at night. but sometimes i have to end the feed short especially if seths in trouble or gets up from his nap crying. i like when dh is home coz he can take her and play and she ends up feeding only 6 or 7 times but i dont mind what ever she needs im happy shes happy :ecomcity::ecomcity::ecomcity::laughing:
reneem - he has 2 sippy cups of milk always been the same amount of 210 should i cut this back? he gulps it down like theres no tomorrow though. has water during the day and eats everything i give him.
Our Family - I wouldn't think 2 sippy cups worth of milk is too much.:confused: I don't know what it could be, hopefully it is just something that didn't agree with his tummy and will pass soon.

newmum - Lily did the same last night would absolutely scream and then fall straight to sleep on my shoulder when I picked her up. Like a nightmare poor thing.
Ang - I'd say 6-8 feeds a day for Lily. Sometimes more if I just give her little bits to settle her. What about you?
Well I had Mums group this morning which was wonderful. Getting to know a great bunch of new mums. Then I went for a long walk and lunch with Mel (mmalt). Seems like the time just flies because there is always so much to talk about :ecomcity:
Sent FOB a big email this morning telling him I want to stay friends (this is what he wanted) and explained a few of the things that have hurt me over the last year so he can understand why I am so hurt/angry and he seems to have taken it well. So here's to moving on with my life with Lily! Just me and my beautiful babe :bee:

So glad to read this! Hon, come visit the single parents thread - there is so much support in there from women who have been through it all. Everyone has a story as to how they came to being a single parent... the ladies are lovely and I think you would like it. Hope to see you in there soon! I have been in the single parents area all along but I just read along, don't usually post. I worry that alot of the girls seem to be a bit ex-hating and I don't fall into that category, and I really don't want to hate him... I dunno, it seems like my situation is just so much different to everyone else I almost feel like I don't belong anywhere... it's strange... But yeah, I do read along...
OurFamily - Of course we want you to talk about Seth here! He's part of your life, and heck, we all rabbit on about things other than our April (or May as my case is) babies! Hope you get some help at the docs soon.

BG - I had L's done when he was 4 months....so expensive and not that good. I will not get M's done by a shopping centre group - I am waiting for her to sit unassisted and then will go to a proper studio. L's was done by another group at about 12 months, terrible session so we took our freebie and ignored the "We are going to toss the rest of these in the bin then" threats.
MelC - sounds like you had a good day. Concentrate on you and bub and things will get better. Much love to you. (I still think of the spice girls when I see your name though :o )
Rosie - its good to get him checked but some babies poos are runnier. L's can be very runny some days, more solid others, depending on what he's eaten, how much fluid he's had etc. With the milestones, just remember every baby is different :yes: Some will roll early, some will walk late - all is very, very normal.
Ang - I give Mills a feed at 4am, 8am, 11am, 1pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm. She cluster feeds a lot during the evening but is good at settling in the morning.
W&E - Happy Birthday for yesterday! Sounds like you had a fab day. Hurray!

Hey Ladies,
Well we had a maternal and childhealth appointment yesterday and no matter what I'm doing, apparently I'm a bad mum.
She asked if I was feeding him solids. I don't lie so I told her the truth and then she went on to lecture me that "THE RECOMMENDED AGE IS SIX MONTHS" not four and I am potentially putting my baby in harms way (her exact words).
She was trying to get Ryder to place all his weight on his feet (which he does all the time) but this time he just kept bouncing. She asked me if I had a jolly jumper (Which I do, although he is hardly ever in it) and then proceeded to tell me that "THEY DON'T RECOMMEND JOLLY JUMPERS". Apparently if I put my child in them then it can cause him serious muscle damage.
Ryder kept trying to suck her hand (he bites it now) she asked me if I was giving him teething rusks (which I am) and then she went on to tell me that they 'DON'T RECOMMEND TEETHING RUSKS UNTIL THEIR FIRST TOOTH HAS CUT THROUGH".
There were other things, i'm a bad mum because he has cradle cap which has'nt gone away since the last visit, he has a little bit of excema behind his ears (she said it was because I didn't dry his ears properly - she didn't even think to ask if it was genetic - which it is).:ecomcity:
By this time Ryder was sooking cause he was hungry and she asked why I hadn't fed him. I told her because our appointment was originally at 2:30 instead of 3 and because she had kept us waiting so long it had dragged into his bottle time.
(She tried to go on about breastfeeding but I cut her off before she could even start).
She wanted me to join another young mothers group which meets at the office so we can listen to doctors and people who know what they are talking about. These people are apparently meant to help young mums who may have no idea what they are doing.
I asked her if the idea was to get all the young mums together so then the "so called professionals" could shove their recommendations down our throats.
I was so mad!!:banghead:
I know they are just doing their job, but I know my son. I know when he is tired, hurt, hungry or sick. I know that he is a happy, active bubs who is developing as he should be. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way I am bringing him up and all this "recommendation" **** is exactly that - "RECOMMENDATIONS".
(i'M NOT PICKING ON THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE FOLLOWING THE RECOMMENDATIONS SO PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG. I'M JUST SICK TO DEATH OF HAVING THEM FORCED UPON ME AND HAVING PROFESSIONALS TREAT ME LIKE I HAVE NO IDEA.
THIS MAY BE MY FIRST TIME BUT I'M NOT ENTIRELY CLUELESS OR STUPID:banghead:)

Hails - Try not to let it get to you hun. We went to yoga last week and the yoga instructor spent like 15 minutes making this girl feel bad for using steroid cream on her babys eczema. She'd done her homework and knew what she was doing, just leave her alone. Nothing annoys me more than people who tell you you should or shouldn't be doing something when they don't live your life and they don't know your baby like you do. If Ryder is happy, healthy and strong babe that's the only proof you need that you're doing a great job :)
Liddy - Hope you're feeling a bit better today. I have had a sore throat too. Not very nice :(
CK - spice up your life! Haha. Hope Millie is being better behaved today.

Hails, She sounds like one of those old fashioned dragon MCHN types. As the other said - don't listen to her - but I'd be pretty ****** if she said that to me as well. Some people think they know everything!!
W&E - I'm in a grump too! Today I'd like a new husband please!! (I'm probably only joking but right now I'm not so sure!!! GRRRRR)
BG - the photo thing can be a big rip off. I've taken all mine to Andrew Wilson in Ballarat (thought you might remember him). I've gone back to to use him again - as I think he does a really fab job.
I'm the worlds baddest BH contributor at the moment. Sorry guys. I try to pop in and read up every now and then - because I love hearing how everyone is doing - but I just don't have time to write personals. I feel bad so generally just don't write anything.
Miss Georgie is still going wonderfully. Sleeps all night (thank you God for that one) and has four BIG bottles during the day. She is over 7kgs and the MCHN tell me she is going to be very very tall! (Daddy is 6.5). My little short **** 5.4 is going towered over some day. I love her laugh - its pure delight to listen to.

Well I'm very :gloomy::crying::gloomy::crying: things between my extended family has gotten worse cant really comprehend it at the moment but now me. DP and DD have been brought into it......
anyway just wanted to let you know that we are all semi ok....I go in for a biopsy on my cervix on friday and have done 3 preg tests and all negative but still no AF

Hails- I probly would have told her in no uncertain words to go away lol. She sounds nuts. any good nurse tells u to follow bubbas cues and incorages u with the positives of what ur doing then offers u some other options for consideration. Some people just asume young mums have no idea. I constantley got glares and whispers when I had to catch the train when I was pg with DS1 and then when I was pg with DS2 and had DS1 in the pusher. watch out. It's like Im older than most ur generation was and I have a man I love im not just getting UTD by anyone for the sake of it lol. Who gives a flying F about reccomendations. Aslong as ur bubba is healthy.
SSU - Don't worry Im the same 3 bubbas is pretty time consuming.
MJ - Hmmmm my extended fam on my DH sucks to lol gotta love it :hugs:. Goodluck with ur Biopsy. Im sure it's nothing. Did they do blood test some people don't ever get positive HPT's

Ange - I hope Poppy is ok, Noah has reflux and often vomit’s a little while sleeping, I have a foam wedge that sits under his sheets to raise him a little.. Hope Poppy is ok… I do a little bit of control crying Noah only cries for about 2mins and goes off to sleep once I learnt what to listen for it worked a treat…
Melc - Good to hear your feeling better!
NMA - You poor thing I really feel for you, I went through the same thing with Noah and thankfully it all changed once I started him on solids, I to miss my sleep
Hails - I made the same mistake by telling the clinic nurses and they told me Noah was going to be obese late in life and blah blah blah.. Bugger those nurses and don’t listen to them. You know what is best for Ryder not them.. I think what they are saying about starting at 6months is a load of **** everyone our age was started at 3months and no problems it’s each to there own I say! You go girl you stick to your guns, I don’t go to the clinic nurses anymore as they told me the same thing I go to Noah’s GP who is supportive

Another restless night from Lachie last night I'm afraid... I think it was a bit better than the night before though... who knows!?
You girls were right about the 4 months needles though thankfully - he didn't seem at all as unsettled as with the last lot! Just gave him a bit of panadol for a temp & I suppose he's bit a little more grumpy on occasion, but it doesn't feel like it's going to last a week like the 2 month ones did :fingerscrossed:
Uh oh... I have to run - he's waking up now, so I better go and do the whole ready for bed routine of bot bot, bath, cuddles & bed (please, please, let him sleep tonight - PLEASE!!)

BG - I haven't been anywhere internationally, but I recommend going to Phuket. My friends go every year and the pics I've seen, aww, it looks to die for. I wish I could go. You're very brave taking Lexie on a holiday! Can't wait to hear how you go! How exciting!
Kristy - How are you going with Noah teething? I met up with one of the girls from my Mums group today and her poor little boy is cross cutting his teeth are just all over his gums and he cried most of the day :( Poor little mite

SSU - Yay for a sleeper-througher! You lucky girl. I think Lily is going to be a tall girl too, FOB is 6'3 and I'm about 5'7. Guess we'll wait and see!
Jess - *hugs* You're a very strong woman and you've been through so much. I know you will get through all this too. Evie is just so gorgeous darling and you needn't worry about anything but her sweetheart.
Well as for me and Lily, we didn't get up to much today. Went to the church where Mum does craft and had some lunch with the nannas. Went out for a coffee with a girl from Mums group which was nice, I think (hope) I'm finally starting to make some friends down here. Lily has hardly slept all day - 2 naps of about 30 mins each. I just don't know how to get her to sleep longer. She's in bed now but I'll need to wake her up shortly to bath her and get her into her overnight bed.
Looks like I might be going to Sydney in about Feb of last year if any ladies are wanting to catch up! My Mums family are having a reunion and they're all over there so will probably get there. I think its about 6th or 7th of Feb or something. Yay, something to look forward to!
Does anyone have any special plans for their partners for fathers day? I'm going to make a card for FOB with Lily's handprint on it and put this poem on the inside :

Ok, so little man is down for the night (well, down but most certainly not out :no:) He's so good at going to bed - even during the day, I can just tell he's tired, wrap him up, but in the dummy & his eyes practically roll back in his little head. Few minutes later, asleep... so I know in that respect I'm lucky not to have a fussy baby that is hard to settle, but I just wish I knew how to make him settle during the night & not cry out for a pat and a shhh... Maybe when it gets a bit warmer, I'll be more tempted to let him cry a bit longer - at the moment I don't like ignoring him as he's usually made his way out of his wrap & is freezing cold... oh well... can't really complain - he is a lovely baby :bee:.
BG - I vote for Thailand too - haven't been there, but I'm sure it's lovely! I went to Vanuatu when Riley was little & that was gorgeous & the people just love kids - aw, I wish I was on a tropical island right now! I'm glad Lexie sailed through her jabs - Lachie seems to have gotten over it all very quickly too thank goodness!
Kristy - Your little boy sounds so cute - a real little man... cutting teeth already hey? I'm glad you had a lovely catch up - I wish you were here in Brissy too so you could join in on our little groups - I'd love to see another healthy boy around! I have started giving Lachie some food - he's not too keen, but is taking it.. I've only just done a few spoons of rice cereal to see if that helps fill him up - let's hope it does something..
SSU - Sounds like your having a DH moment.. they can be frustrating most of the time! I guess I am lucky in some ways to have a break from mine at times - he can drive me insane as well & then off he goes to work for 3 weeks & I forget about it all & miss him like mad :laughing:.. Maybe you can suggest a change in his career? Ha!
MelC - Sounds like you had a nice day - I really need to get out more too... Must make the effort! Good for you! I don't think my DH is home for fathers day, but I think your handprint idea is a good one - something nice that they can keep is better than an overpriced gadget from the shops anyday!
Hails - agree with all the others - that nurse sounded like the stereotypical types that I had hoped were being phased out of the industry.. so out of touch! You know what is right for little Ryder... keep up the good work, he sounds like he is thriving!
Ang - I hope Poppy is ok? Haven't seen you on as much as usual....
Well, I'm going to crawl into bed I think - might as well make the most of a sleeping bub... He usually starts fussing around 2.00am, so we'll see how it goes...
