Hello again,
Ive been doing some research and Tin Lids is meant to be a very good agency, they deal with many popular clients like Target, hence receive on-going work for bubsi's.:yelclap: I mean you may receive work in 1 week, but then again you may not receive work for 3 months... doesnt matter which agency your with.
But yes, Tin Lids is a very good one... and VERY VERY cheap.:smiliedance: I am seriously contemplating cancelling my daughters contract with All Stars to go with Tin Lids
Good Luck

My daughter got lots of work initially with BubbleGum Casting and they forgot to include her in the headshots brochure... so we changed and went with Tin Lids and have heard nothing at all. But I have given it up these days, so much running around for only an hour worth of work ($80) or so... if you have time I guess its okay.

I had an interview with Tin Lids and paid up my $140 last week. As my daughter will be 20 months in September when they photograph for the head sheet I will need to pay another $110 then. After the age of 2, clients apparently mainly view the head sheet to pick their models as opposed to soley using the web based system. I was told I would be reducing her chances of being chosen if I was to just have her remain on the web based system after this age. I don't really expect anything of it all but will be thrilled if something does come of it. I am sceptical about any agency because you don't know if they see your child as a true possibility for getting work or whether they basically accept everyone as a way of making money. If you don't bite the bullet and give it a go though I guess you will never know. We know our child is adorable though, like many others. I have learnt it is a very subjective subject anyway; for example, I often display what I believe to be the most gorgeous photo of my 17 month old daughter to friends and family and they all disagree and have a completely different favourite. If there was only one most gorgeous baby then only the one baby would be modelling, winning competitions, growing up and being sought after by all the males/females - life just doesn't work that way. It is a good thing it very subjective! Clients seek particular features/looks and children may not have the presence required for modelling - in other words be as easy to work with in terms of co-operation whilst being photographed etc. Given what we know regarding the industry I guess we all have a chance. Tin Lids is one of only a few agencies that is on the Victorian Children's Agents Association list of approved agencies so that is one factor that made me feel 'safer' about joining her to this particular agency - that and the fact that it is a lot cheaper than the others. I am also interested to know of others' experiences with this agency - in particular, how many end up getting work.

I meant to ask. Did you have to attend an audition or was he simply picked from the photos Tin Lids hold on file/internet?

mummy sam
27-06-2006, 06:33
they just picked him from the internet files.... His not in the book cause his too young so just the internet.

i'll let you now how at all goes

mummy sam
27-06-2006, 13:40
well it all went well, he was a very good boy and was used for the shoot :smiliedance:
it's for baby target the week of 10th-16th August his in a little elmo outfit
he was all :D
so maybe if they are happy with him then they'll use him again
oh and it was only 1/2 hours work

Missy Moo

I will definitely keep a look out for that. Can't wait to see it. I bet it was a relief for you that he was in a good mood - it's nice to know for your own sake that the experience is a good one for your little bub. It feels so good to talk to a real life example of it working out for someone from the same agency I have joined my daughter to. Thanks.

hey no dramas thats what we are all here for to put your mind at ease, on many many topics.
The other boy bub that was there was also from tinlids and then the two girls were from bayside.

Anyway you'll have to let us know when your bub gets a job:fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

Hi, I too have my little one (9 months) with Tin Lids. We signed up 3 weeks ago. I sent his photos to a couple of agencies in May just to "test the waters". I was really surprised at how long it took to get a response as to whether they were interested or not. I was told that agencies can get up to 30 talent applications a day! So I was pretty proud that Alexander was accepted by nearly all of them.
To those of you who are looking at getting your child representation don't be disheartened if you get knockbacks. Selection is entirely subjective and it all depends on what look each agent has on their books at that particular time. Alexander has a full head of curls and 1 agent said that she thought he was absolutely gorgeous but didn't think he would get work at this stage but that she would love to see him in 6 months when he "had grown into his hair". I had a good laugh about it because he does look like a toddler in a babies body. Having said that though 3 other agencies wanted him on their books because of his look!
Anyway, now its another waiting game to see whether he gets selected for work.

 Hi again, just wondering what communication other mum's have had with Tinlids or other agencies for that matter. Do you just wait for them to call or do you call once in a while to see how things are progressing. I don't want to seem like I am hassling them, but sometimes my curiosity gets a little overwhelming. Also to mummysam, congrats :yelclap: to Lochie on getting his first job, did you get much notice beforehand?

mummy sam
05-07-2006, 14:22
Thanks for the congrats, i got the phone call the night b4 for the job in the morning. I've just been leaving it now, if he's wanted then they'll calll me for a job, i've just seen a few emails to keep in contact with updated pictures for his website.

I'm guessing you haven't had any luck yet. :fingerscrossed: that you get something soon, i know that for me it put my mind at ease that i hadnt wasted my money.

Mumx1
06-08-2006, 20:10
Hi HSE & J's Mumma. As my ds was under 12 months the fee on the day was $140. I am pretty sure that over this age they need to be in the head shot book as well so there is an extra cost for that. I can't remember what that cost is:confused: . Sorry

the pricing is you pay 140 on the day of your interview. then in october they have the photos shoots thats when you pay the rest of the $250 and i nnovember the photos come out. but till the photos cum out they represent you with the photos you have supplied. hope that answers your question about the pricing.

Hi Mummy sam. There were 2 catalogues for August 10 - I only got one in the mail. Check out the Target website. There is a separate baby one and in there is a picture of a little boy in an Elmo suit. Is that your son?

Don't give up yet. From memory she sends an email either way. It's a generic email addressed to your child and if she has attached the application form then she wants to see you. So I would take it as no news is good news at this stage. :fingerscrossed:

mummy sam
13-08-2006, 20:14
 that's not him, it's actually a totally diff shoot. I think that cause Lochie and the little girl who was meant to be in it were sitting up you may not have been able to see the suit properly, at least thats what i tell myself. I know that the pics that they took on the day were good cause the photographer shouild me some. Oh well :fingerscrossed: the use him next time.

Hey Jess give her an email and see that she got your application maybe she didn't get it, cause i would say that she would let you know either way, good luck
