Hello fellow mum's and mum's to be!

I have a 15 month old little boy, and I am a first year student at University, I am doing a Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations)...

It's getting really hard now. Especially because I have been out of "study mode" for 6 years ...

Is anyone out there tyring to juggle motherhood and study?? Or am I the only crazy one on this forum!!

I thought we could have a support thread...

There is a support thread,

I'd link it but I'm not very clever, just keep scrolling down. I think it's in the parenting section called "mums and dads who are studying"

It's a pretty hard slog (studying). Hard to get motivated.

Here's a link to the section: Mums and Dads who are Studying (www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=223)

and I'll move your thread there for you.

Hi & Welcome :)

I had one child in the middle of my first degree ... and I'm on my second now with 3 children -- some weeks are incredibly hard and some are pretty good. Assignments and exams are the worst though - esp if something unexpected happens at the last minute like the kids getting sick or my DH having to go away for work :(.

I have found that I can't really get into "study mode" now ... it's all about grabing a few minutes of time here and there and hoping it all comes into place before exams :o

I started doing Tertiary Preparation last year at Tafe its like HSC for adults (if thats what they wanna call me), and I should of finished last year even though I accidentaly got pregnant...But due to Threatened Premmie Labors I was in Hospital alot and couldnt do it.. I only have two subjects left to finish this year so I can go to Uni next year but am really lacking motivation, I just want to be with my boys.

But they are why I want to do it..

So I understand the lack of motivation thing but I really need help getting it back cause im just not going and doing the work!!! I will be in on a motivate each other thread, I want my kids to be proud of me!!

I am studying too while trying to raise my almost one year old. I thank god I have such great parents and sister to help me out with watching her sometimes too. I couldn't survive or pass otherwise!

I am in first year doing Primary Teaching. I was doing Film & TV and Journalism pre-baby, but wanted to change. I am glad I did. I love it!

All that keeps me going is the thought of work at the end and I also just have to look at my daughter to remember why I am doing this. For her.

It is great to see there are other parents out there studying!! I have two ch'n 3 and 1 and yes it is hard going. I'm studying science and while I do enjoy it, it is difficult to manage a house, part time work assignments and quality time with the kids! Not to mention residential schools!
While I currently have a system that is working, would love to hear from others with coping strategies they may have :)
