Well, we are going for it...ttc # 3. Thanks to everyone who replied to my message and I love this board...so much info. from real women! My husband was very reluctant to expanding our family at first but literally had an overnight change of heart:

My dh & I currently have a dd 6 & ds 3. My daughter says she would love a little sister and my son would like a little brother. We of course will let the "universe" decide and have told them that it will be a suprise to all!

Just curious about others family dynamics with boys/girls, etc? Any thoughts on number of children and gender? We will be elated with just a healthy baby, but I try to envision if our #3 will be a boy or girl and how he/she would fit in as the youngest?

TIA

Erica

Hi Erica,

There seems to be a few threads of this nature at the moment. I don't think I have responded to yours about 3 children. I seem to be writing about it a lot on here lately:laughing: . We were surprised to find out that we were to have a third baby as it wasn't in our plans! But it has been a fantastic journey. I probably don't need to explain the business side of it-two are busy. Our older two absolutely adore their little brother. DS#1 wanted a brother and DD wanted a sister too, so I think it's a standard reply from the older ones. DD is a real mother hen and for the first three months or so, apart from when she was at school, she was present for every nappy change, every feed, every bath, in fact every everything! She didn't want to miss a moment. When I was pregnant I was thinking another girl would be nice for practical reasons-closest in age to DD, no other girls amongst the cousins etc... but I was over the moon when our baby boy arrived. I adore little boys-they seem so much more naive than little girls. Don't get me wrong, I adore our DD too but, Phew, is she a challenge! I also feel that being a boy, Hamish isn't a threat to her. Sounds a bit strange, but I feel our DD wouldn't have liked a sister as much as she thought she would.
Oh ,and my DH has had a brand new love affair with parenthood. He dotes on Hamish in a way I don't recall he did with the other 2-I think he's more relaxed and just drinking it all in. Amazing for the guy who was adamant we stop after 2!
I say, GO FOR IT!! You only ever regret the child you don't have.:smiliedance:

How beautiful!
We have two girls and would love a third in 2007.
Fiance wants a boy and so do the girls, I guess I would too, but I feel selfish for admitting that LOL :o
In the end a healthy happy baby is what counts, but I could just imagine how spoilt the bubba would be if it was a boy lol! It would be our last too. DF says if it was another girl we will try again but EEKKK I don't think so!!

HARD WORK HAVING THREE:yes:
BUT IF YOU LOVE CHILDREN, YOU DO IT
EVER SINCE WE HAD NUMBER 3
MY HUSBAND HAS WANTED EVEN MORE CHILDREN
HE EVEN DOES MUCH MORE FOR THE KIDS
WHICH IS SO GREAT

I GUESS WE ARE LUCKY WE HAVE A GIRL AND TWO BOYS
BUT IT NEVER WORRIED US WHAT WE WOULD HAVE
BUT HONESTLY
I DO THINK BOYS ARE EASIER
SO IF I HAD MORE BOYS IT WOULD BE GOOD
GIRLS ARE NIGHT MARES IN PRINCESS DRESSES...

I had to laugh at this!!!!!
I have only two boys ( one on his way) I would love a girl though but what has to be will be. Although I have come across some girls who have attitude + at 3 yrs old. My son is so loving and cuddly I never want him to grow out of this,

My hubby was exactly the same. He'd gone from nope I'l get snipped not having any more. To yep in a couple of years, to lets start trying now!
That was at Christmas and we're still trying :fingerscrossed: for this month!
We already have two boys so I would love a girl. But I'd be just as happy if it turned out to be a boy. A healthy robust bub is the most important thing!
Good luck!:hugs:
