Hi all, as some of you know i had a little girl on Good Friday. Well the afterpains were pretty bad but soon vanished within a couple of days. My bleeding has also been very good, it slowed right down and changed in colour.
But today (which is 12 days after the birth) i have been having more pains, which are not as severe but fairly uncomfortable and i have a bit of fresh blood. Is this normal? Or should i be seeing a doctor?
I had the same thing about 4 days ago was horrible and more stronger bleeding so I rang the hospital, they said to slow down and take it easy! and that it's normal but to rest more! If you are really worried or in a lot of pain call your midwife or DR so check :)

I'd say it might be because you're doing a bit much, like DM said....take it easy! Though if it does keep up, i'd go and get checked out just to be sure it isn't an infection or something.....I know infection can mean pain, but i don't know about bleeding? Sounds more like you're not resting enough to me!

I agree with the others that you have more than likely over done things !
I did this also & its very hard not to when your still trying to organise things around the house etc but honestly you do need the rest so try to keep your feet up as much as possible the chores can wait !
If your still worried at all head off to the doctors it will do no harm.
Just take some time out for yourself & hopefully all will settle down.
Congrats on the bubba also :D

but i havent really been.... maybe a little but id hardly say im overdoing it majorly... but i will try rest today, seeing you all told me to!! hehe thanks girls!
hey ljd,
I've been having the same thing, I talked to my midwife and yes, overdoing it can cause it, but so can breastfeeding. It's just the uterus clamping down. As long as it's not really heavy (more than a pad an hour) and there's no clots you shoulkd be fine. See your doctor if you are worried.

I hate to make an unpopular suggestion, but it could be your period returning - its been known to happen that early, even if you are breastfeeding. If you're worried, see your GP at least, if not your OB.
Good luck!:fingerscrossed:
