Bassinette to cot?

My DD is 2 months old and is rather a long baby.

At the moment she's still sleeping in the bassinette. When would you recommend moving her into her cot?

I had to move ds to the cot at about that age as he was too long for the basinette!! He was in our bed at night though so it wasn't such a hard thing to do! I don't think there is any particular age you should move them, just whenever it is they no longer fit!

If you have troubly getting DD to sleep in her cot, try placing the bassinett in the cot for a week or so until she is used to the new surrounds, then take the bassinett out & place her in the cot. :D

I agree with jembelina, we moved DD into cot and own room at 11 weeks when she just got too long for the bassinet:sleeping: Every baby is different and i think its once they start to hit the sides of the bassinet and wake themselves up its time for the move

my DS moved to a cot at about 2-3 months he wasnt too long it was more the bassinet was too narrow :laughing: he would strech his little arms out and then they would bump the sides and he would wake up scared stiff :laughing:

Thanks. She has just started to bang the sides. It doesn't seem to upset her, but it makes quite a racket (it's an old wicker one), and wakes me!

I sometimes put her down for her daytime sleeps in the big cot. I'm just trying to delay the time when I actually have to get right out of bed to go and feed her!

She had her immmunisations today, so I'll keep her in the bassinette tonight and maybe move her tomorrow.

My DD is still in her bassinet and she is 5mths, her arms sometimes hit the side but it's not worrying her...she'll go into the cot when I get a new mattress for it, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

DS was out of the bassinet at 3mths coz he just refused to sleep in it.

our princess is still in her bassinette... she is 4mth old and also going for her injections today
she is probably way too big for the bassinette but we are lucky we bought a rather large one because I am such a wimp I cant move her in to her room! :o
