hi all ( i will be going to the drs tomorrow but just wanted to know)

i am 33.5 weeks pregnant ( i have my c section in 4.5 weeks) over the last few weeks (about 4 to 6) i have had backache constantly, (even when i lean over something it doesnt help and when i lie down it doesnt help) but my main prob tonight is that i have a bloddy headache lol it started about 8pm and i cant shake it plus i feel really nauseous and warm, i have only got prodeine forte and wanted to know if that was ok or safe to use for the headache or just let it go till tomorrow? it conatins only codeine and paracetamol, but my main question was did anyone else feel this way. this is my 4th bub and with the 3 girls i never felt like this (i had pre eclampsia with the first but never got it again). heeelp

Maybe you are coming down with a flu or the likes? I had those same feelings last week and the next thing was a sore throat which now is a yuk headcold sort of thing. When I was pregnant, i did feel really warm throughout the whole last thrimester and i suffered with chronic headaches so I couldn't tell you if that isn;t normal???

Your ob will soon tell you tomorrow though! I hope you feel better soon.:hugs:

Paracetamol and codeine are both category A medications in pregnancy, which means they are both completely safe to take, there have never been any recorded problems (ie birth defects) that have resulted from using these medications while pregnant - BUT panadeine forte is a prescription medication so I would personally be seeking medical advice before taking it.

Codeine is an addictive medication, and more pertinent to pregnancy, it quite commonly causes constipation - a problem that most pregnant women struggle with at the best of times! Its far safer to take just panadol.

Hope things work out for you.
