My gorgeous 3 year old driving me nuts

My 3 yr old boy is obsessed with guns!!! He is shooting everything including me and it's driving me crazy. I have always been so strongly against guns, war etc etc but I just can't get him to give it up. Does anyone have any suggestions or comparisons with their children? Is my son a typical 3 yr old boy or have I given birth to a nasty little soldier???? HELP!!!

I would try not to worry about it too much. My 4 year old daughter is constantly going around "killing" people with swords like Peter Pan and Captain Hook do :rolleyes:.

A movie that i thought was fairly innocent has turnt her into an obsessed sword hitting lunatic:laughing:

I try not to encourage it but i think that the more you tell them not to do it, the more they do.

Kids will find anything to make toy guns out of......even if they're not supplied with any such thing. When I worked in daycare the 3 year old boys were always making toy guns out of lego, blocks, anything. I think you can only explain that guns hurt ppl and you shouldn't aim a gun at anyone. But really I think it's just a normal part of play, just like superhero play. There's always baddies and goodies, cops vs robbers etc.
