My previously tt'd DD has regressed in leaps and bounds over the last couple of weeks.
She will still does wees in the toilet most of the time but has suddenly decided pooing in her knickers is better for her than going to the toilet  Nothing in her day to day life has changed so I am at a loss as to what the reason could be
I have asked her why she doesn't want to poo in the toilet anymore and she says she can't. When I ask why she can't she says she doesn't know!!
I have asked her if she wants a nappy to poo in and she adamantly says NO!!
I have tried star charts - 3 good days and then a surprise....we haven't even had one knicker-poo free day!!
I have tried getting her to wash the poo off her own knickers before putting them in the laundry basket (I usually do it again after - secretly) and clean her own bum of poo etc In the hope that she will dislike the task as much as I do and realise that using the toilet is alot less messy!!
I have tried making a game of it.
I have been frustrated and roused on her for doing it her knickers - never a good outcome!!
Can anyone help me with some more ideas or even any ways to get an answer from her about why the sudden hate of the toilet for poo.....
I fell like :banghead: because she was so good at toileting until recently.
My DS, who is a few mths younger than your DD, hasn't actually gone back to pooing in his undies, but sometimes he will refuse to use the toilet at all and only wants to use the potty...(or wee outside on the grass, but thats come from FIL  coz he's a lazy *** and does that all the time)
Maybe ask her if she wants to use the potty again, if thats what she started on, I know some people don't bother with them.
DS usually stops using the toilet when he sees a spiders web in there...big old house so lots of them...he wont go back in there for longer than it takes to wee until his daddy has checked for spiders, apparently I don't do it right
Sorry, probably not very helpful...

She did have a seat insert with steps up to the toilet when she started and doesn't even want to look at it let alone use it - I get "the look" for even asking
I can just imagine your DS waiting for dad to check PROPERLY for spiders - that is sooo cute!!!!!
Have you noticed your DD doing anything before she poos? Like stopping playing, or hiding in a corner...or under the table like my mum tells me I did:o ? Maybe you could catch her before she does it and take her to the toilet? I remember DS going thru a stage a few weeks back where he was convinced he was going to fall into the toilet...maybe something has scared her? Maybe it hurts to poo? I don't know....could just be a 3yr old thing
Oh man, I hear ya! My ds1 is the same age and has done the same thing!! It's getting to the point of having to wash his pooey jocks 3 or 4 times a day!!!
He won't even do a poo on his potty which he was doing really well at.
So I guess I will be watching this thread as well!

My DS did the same thing for months and months (and months) very frustrating and hard to be consistantly calm and try to not get upset.
Light at the end of the tunnel is now DS takes himself off to to a poo - he used to, at the age of your daughter, disappear into another room or hide in a corner and hold on and scream if his Dad or I made him sit on the toilet.
Stick with it though through all the tears and stubbourness they outgrow it. Most of my nieces and nephews (I have 11 of them plus DS) have all done it for differing lengths of time.
It gets better even if it takes a while to grow out of.

I am so happy to hear that is is just another "phase"......how many more can there be :crying:
She seems to have this amazing ability to poo while still doing things - that is not to say that maybe she hides while she is doing it. She spends lots of time in her room playing so I don't always see her when she is doing it. When I do see her I take her to the toilet but she holds it in and refuses to go - tanty's and tears  and then five minutes later she has done it in her knickers. I have started putting a nappy on her for the mornings as this seems to be the time she does poos and then after she has done it I put her knickers on for the day - this hasn't been foolproof - I am sure she hangs onto a little bit for later  I also feel like this is a step backwards.....
I was so excited about her tt because we were going to start nights soon as she is not too keen on wearing a nappy to bed anymore. I guess we will just have to wait until she gets through this phase :o
You should still be ok to TT at night....my ds1 is TTed at night and has no probs, it's just the poos in his pants during the day. Like your daughter, he can keep doing things while he's pooing. Very frustrating!

I might give it another week and then start night training. Everyone :fingerscrossed: that she starts pooping in the toilet again before we do nights - pooey sheets could make me quit being a mum and go and live with a mute pin up boy on a deserted island
