View Full Version : Ovulation - charting question
I've posted about it in the TTC # 1 Buddy Group - Thread 2 (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=186423) thread but I thought I might get a more general response here. I've been charting now for 5 cycles. Longest cycle till now has been 24 days. Last cycle was crazy - here's the link anyway http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/207ec0
My problem is - before I put in todays temps it said I O'd on cd16 but now it says cd23 unless I remove my CM from W to n/a. I had endo removed in Feb and after last cycle my doctor sugested that it might be growing back already just to make things a little more complicated!
Any thoughts or ideas?
I was starting to get excited cause AF hadn't arrived yet but now I don't know what to think!
I have a doctors appointment on Thursday so hopefully she can also fill me in!

hey tegan, im only new to charting so im probably only repeating what u already know...
when FF uses cross hash it means u potentially o'd that day, where as full lines mean you pretty confidently o'd that day.
it looks like it moved your day as u have had three higher temps since cd23. thats about all i can tell u.
as and unexperienced charter, If you've been having short cycles, i'd be guessing that its prob wrong...lol... but i could very much be wrong
good luck with it all and :fingerscrossed: for a :bfp:
My chart was saying I Od on Cd11 which I no I didnt as i had NO ewcm or +OPKs etc but once I removed one temp that I was unsure of (couldnt read my own hand writing :p ) My chart changed and now says I Od on cd17 which is in line with everything else but because I didnt get a + OPK I have a dotted line. Maybe try and fiddle around with the info you have put in and see if any of it could be wrong & see what happens.
Good luck

I only charted for one month before getting pregnant.
I am inexperienced too and my O day got moved from CD21 to CD26 and I was pretty confident I o'ed on day 26 of a 34 day cycle.
I charted for 1 mth to find O day and FF found it to be day 26 so DH and I Bd'ed on day 21 for a girl and I was pregnant that month. They had got it right for me.
Not sure if that helps at all though:confused:
PS my cycles have been pretty spot on 34 days.

Hi, this is a tricky one but here's my opinion. I think you actually O'd around day 14. This is because you generally O at the beginning of the rise. Your temperature started going up at day 14 and by day 17 the temp is above the previous 6 temps (if you discount day 13 which may have been a freak high). The temperature was a bit slow to go up but that could have just been because your progesterone levels were slow to rise.
I don't want to get your hopes up but it's a really good sign that you BD at day 14 and 15 and probably O'd around that time too. Also, your temperatures have continued to go up in a rising pattern. If they continue this pattern for 20 days then its :bfp: for you.
That's just my opinion and I may be wrong. Good luck and :fingerscrossed:
Thanks heaps everyone. I have been playing around with it and it changes from cd14, 15 and 23 I'm hoping it was 14 or 15 cause then my chances are much better! But at least I know I'm not completely out of it if it was cd 23 cause we bd cd21.
Funny thing is I was all up for it cd23 but my dh was too hung over! haha
I'm off to the doctors tomorrow anyway so she might ask me to poas hopefully!
I went to the doctors today and got a bfn but my temps still up so I'm trying not to be completely negative! Was told to wait a week and test again is af doesn't show. Its going to be a long week!

Hi Tegan
I am not sure if I'll be much help but here goes...
I have charted for nearly 12 mths but always using a chart supplied by my Dr and not an online chart
Even though charting can really help to confirm if we O, there are so many contributing factors to our temps, CM etc that it can all make it very hard to actually know what's going on
A friend gave me a lot of info from a Family Planning clinic that she got when ttc herself
It states that everything from the amount of sleep we get, quality of sleep, having had any alcohol the eve prior, sometimes what we eat, if we are unwell, stressed, and so on can affect our temps
I experienced this recently when my chart had a sudden rise that was consitent for about 4 days - this started on CD 8 which is alot earlier than any temp increases I'd noted before. At the end of the 4 days I ended up with a toothache and had to go to the dentist - this dental issue and the pain had contributed to my increased temp pre O
I don't want to confuse you further but just want to say that it's best to look at the big picture to best guess when we thing we O'd
It is supposed to definitely happen within the 24hrs when we first notice our temp rise
Good luck... :fingerscrossed:
Hope this was some help and not confusing... :(
Thanks maybe1more :)
missartymiss - I don't think I could get any more confussed haha. I mainly started charting cause I had endo and i wanted to do if I was Oing so I'm just glad I am really! That and I'm a control freak haha
At the end of my crazy 18 day cycle i got tonsilitis - but it was crazy before there were any signs of that! and it disregarded a temp when i was really sick...
